Small city so easy to navigate. Taxi drivers waited for us at out of town attractions. Highlights were quad biking around film sets, hammam spa and eating home cooked food in a Berber village. All arranged by our accommodation.

The city is split into two sections, one where the tourists stay (North - Ouarzazate) and the other is where the locals stay (South - Tabounte)
We loved Ksar Ben Youssef the hotel there, it is in an area where mostly locals stay and there is a good restaurant near it called Cafe Restaurant la Montana where we ate and picked up some shopping from the petrol station shop
We also ate at Nature Food Restaurant and Pizzeria which was very well priced
Travel around Ouarzazate is easy with taxis, they typically charge about 100 Dhs from and to the airport, and about 50 for the inner city stuff (there were 5 of us) I think they charge things like this, 5 Dh + 5 Dh per kilometer per person or something close to that
The touristy area is very clean and built up quite nicely, the locals area is a little more run down but we enjoy to stay close to the locals and see how they live
We had a bad experience at Ecolodge Lile De Ourzazate, although the idea of their place is nice to have an eco friendly place, we found that it was not as advertised in ways which made our stay there unpleasant
Overall our stay in Ouarzazate was good, we visited a place called Ksar Ait Ben Haddou - if you do and its summer make sure you go in the morning or afternoon, because it is very hot around mid day. They also have some studios there and locations where they filmed the movie Gladiator which the locals are very proud of.
If we go back I would like to visit the other areas nearby such as Marzouga 300km away to check out the desert, there is also another area about 200km away which apparantly has nice oasis / lots of palm trees but I cant remember the name

A place with traditional architecture and great historical relevance. The ride to the airport is a short distance. Transport links to Marrakech were easy to locate and local law enforcement very visible and helpful.

Located right in between the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara...
Located right in between the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert - Ourzazate is a relatively new city but done up in the traditional Kasbah architecture. It’s famous for its film studios where a number of Historical films were shot. It’s a place where most tourists stay a night on their way to Merzouga (To see Sand dunes) or to Ait-Ben Haddou which is a Unesco world heritage site of one of the best maintained settlements where all houses / buildings are made of clay. Best part is the journey through Atlas Mountains from Tizin Tichka to Ourzazate on the long winded mountainous route alongside the Dra valley. Scenes are surreal and feel as if it’s on Mars given the amount of red clay you see in the mountains.

Stayed at the Oscar Hotel on the Atlas Studios.
Stayed at the Oscar Hotel on the Atlas Studios. A great resort with a beautiful pool area. Friendly staff. Great service. Liked the tour of Atlas Studio. Loved the Film Museum in the city. Definitely worth seeing.
For the price, one can't expect too much but the place is basic but in a quiet location which is what i wanted. 30 mins drive from the Airport, real straightforward to get to, and some real good restaurants 2mins drive away. Amenities are superb with an excellent shower and warm water. If it's luxury you're after, this isn't it (but you should know this from the price) but it has everything you NEED for your stay, and the Staff are very polite, professional, welcoming and efficient. Very good stay here....
This is the first time I have given a perfect 10 score. This charming small hotel is absolutely fabulous. My hosts Christelle and Pierre were delightful. Superb local food, which was taken sitting next to the pool. My motorcycle was accommodated inside the garage. The location is close to the airport, don't worry about noise as there are only a couple of flights each day.
This is now may very favourite hotel in Morocco.
The hotel is a house with a few rooms, a small swimming pool and a small dinner/breakfast room. The room was standard, clean and Moroccan-style comfy. There is indoor parking for one car, otherwise its outside. The location of the hotel is very bad, unpaved street through a shady neighbourhood, very dark and stray dogs. Wouldn't walk around after darkness - only with the car. The owner is very friendly. Breakfast was good.
This is a beautiful, stylish and quiet hotel. My friends and I arrived after a week of touring Morocco. When we got to the Kasbah, we immediately canceled our touring plans. Everyone agreed that lounging at the pool here was a much better use of time! DEFINITELY splurge for a superior room - the views and balcony access are worth the extra funds. The restaurant also serves excellent food and wine.
The staff at the reception were nice and helpful. The room was spacious and had many amenities, such as bootled water, a fridge and even tea.
The bathroom was quite large and clean.
The breakfast was also very good.
The location was central, next to the main Ouarzazate road.
There was also free parking for our rental in front of the hotel.
Overall a great place to stay in Ouarzazate.
A must for everyone visiting Ouarzazate! Our stay at Dar Farhana was exceptional. The attentive service and comfortable accommodations exceeded all expectations. The serene surroundings added to the sense of tranquility. I'm already looking forward to returning to Dar Farhana in the future, as its charm and hospitality left a lasting impression.
We have stayed in many riads in Morocco and this is one of the most beautiful. The location was ideal for our stopover between Merzouga and Marrakech. The staff were very helpful and kind and we had an excellent dinner. Having learned that Ryanair flies to Ouarzazate, we would be very happy to stay again for a long weekend.
Ibis hotel in Ouarzazate was a lovely clean hotel with always helpful staff. We had a comfortable room with unsweet bathroom for taking so much needed showers as it was lovely hot weather and a stunning view out of our window overlooking the pool and lovely mountains.
The location of the hotel is very convenient too.
I loved the riad, all is very good. The outstanding aspect is everyone in the riad staff. Hackim went above and beyond: total flexibility and availability on any request, taking care of me when I fell sick and personal support/tips for the rest of my trip around Morocco. Again, above and beyond, exceptional.
Good hotel along the route from our way to Marrakech to Merzouga. Very friendly welcome by our host. Rooms are very good. Although it seems the hotel has seen busier days, no food served at night, only rooms + breakfast. so you need a car to get dinner, due to its location outside center
Wonderful hotel! It's a bit away from the centre but not hard to find. The riad is beautiful, the breakfast is served in front of the room and it's wonderful. The balcony at the top has lovely views of the landscape. The staff is attentive and really lovely. Couldn't recommend more!
What a pleasant stay I had at AFGO Hostel. The hot water and water pressure was great and probably the best in all my time throughout Morocco.
The place has a great view and a nice spot to meet other travelers. Until the next stay..
Thank you guys so much!
I had a wonderful stay at Rose Valley Hotel. The staff, especially Said, were incredibly helpful and made my experience memorable. The hotel was impeccably clean and the breakfast offered was truly delightful. I highly recommend this hotel for a fantastic stay!
We stayed at this riad at New Year’s Eve. It was the best riad we’ve seen in Morocco. Beautiful, clean, with big nice rooms. The owners and the people who work there are warm, nice and very helpful. We had a terrific dinner and a terrific breakfast.
This hotel is very very clean and friendly with you. I think that was the best hotel quality/ price. Offer you a good experience for this kind of booking. Also, breakfast is very good and one of the best from our experience in Morocco
Beautiful courtyard, excellent waiter service and free breakfast. Quality and good amenities, bottle waters in the room everyday, facial tissue, AC, mini refrigerator, etc. this hotel deserves more than 3 stars instead of 1 star.
All the experience in Riad Hanan is exceptional and really authentic, Bren is a warm, wonderful host, we really liked our stay at her place. And the food is delicious, we had breakfast and dinner and it was top.
Rooms are amazing and the bathrooms too. Strongly recommended. The manager of the property is an amazing guy, you can spend time with him chatting and knowing Morocco culture.
