We like that the apartment was large, welcoming, homy with cute details. We like the warm radiator under the table when we played a family game after dinner. We liked everything in the house.
Fascinating place and great for photos.
Not much to do, other than walk, and poor quality food.
A day trip or overnight at most.
Park in the Parking Los Caños. It's awkward to get to but very central and avoids the really narrow and steep streets in the town.

It was beautiful and peaceful town the views were amazing.
It was beautiful and peaceful town the views were amazing. Steep hills to the top of the cliff can be driven to a certain point but be careful you don’t leave town…As the road to the top also joins the motorway…Restaurants are not open during bank holidays, however the residents were extremely helpful and willing to give you directions, including the owner of the place we rented… When above and beyond with information…

Overall it's overrated in my opinion.
Overall it's overrated in my opinion. We arrived in the evening when it started to rain and everything was damp and wet. We couldn't find any restaurant open for dinner at that hour, I think was 9-10pm. The next day we made the trip inside the village. The old houses under the cliff looked very damp and cold.

Beautiful whitewashed town in the andalucian mountains.
Beautiful whitewashed town in the andalucian mountains. Its very touristic because the houses and shops are embedded into the overhanging stone ledges of the town. Its very quaint and definitely worth visiting. The town gets very busy especially the weekends so therefore its better to arrive early to be able to park at the entrance of the town. This is free just a tip for the parking assistant that is guiding cars to the parkings. There are some wonderful restaurants but can truly say that El Mirador is amazing food and great customer service. Don't leave the town without buying some home made cakes from one of the many cake shops. Superb!

Setenil is a lovely interesting village with good bars and restaurants. We had good service from nearly everyone. If you want to experience rural Spain, it is a good base. There are very few English visitors it seems so brush up on your Spanish - or have Google Translate at the ready!
Also be prepared for a lot of walking up and down steep hills and steps. There is rarely any on- road parking and the main car park is a good 15-20 minute walk for the average able-bodied but would be extremely tricky for anyone with impaired mobility. So if you dine in the village in the evening, there’s plenty of opportunity to walk off the calories!
The bar Lucia and the slightly more upmarket Brasserie were two of our favourite places to eat in the village. The Mira Bueno restaurant was excellent and the staff were super friendly. It’s outside the village with good views overlooking it and has parking right outside.
There are places to visit nearby such as the early Roman ruins at Acipino and the castle at Olvera - you need to be quite physically fit for both these though. The bridge at Ronda is also well worth a visit but it does get very busy.
In summary, the area is beautiful, the food tasty & inexpensive and the people are friendly. The down side is that getting about can be quite challenging for the less mobile.

Setenil is lovely.
Setenil is lovely. You need good knees to cope with steep hills and stairs. Not many places open at night to eat. Just one or two restaurants and bars in May. Park in the car parking los canos as the streets are so so narrow in places. Thoroughly worthwhile stay.
Very well sorted modern hotel in the heart of Setenil and a short, but steep, walk from the carpark.
Room was great, warm and comfortable, a good size and an external terrace with great views overlooking the town, which we unfortunately couldn't take advantage of in December as it was cold and wet when we visited.
Breakfast in the restaurant was a good selection of sweet and savoury food in the buffet.
The responsiveness of the manager was excellent. We asked for fresh batteries for the a/c remote and a man arrived at 8 pm to deliver two small batteries. They were always quick to reply. The decor is really nice; we liked the tile, color scheme, bedroom lighting and trim. Setenil is close to Ronda and other white villages.
Beautiful view, clean spacious apartment, easy walk to restaurants and good communication with the host. This is an ideal spot to stay in Setenil - though be aware the town is built on the side of a hill. If you drive there, try and park above the town and walk down to the apartment. Good advice received from the host.
Luis Miguel was the perfect host. It's very easy to reach the house with his indications and he also helped us to find a place to park, since it can be hard to park in the village. He also sent us a little guide to explore Setenil and suggested some activities and restaurants. The location of the house is great!
The place is very spacious and quiet but still central.
The bed is very comfortable. The view is fantastic. The heating system is great.
The case is beautiful and clean feel really homely with hotel standard toiletries.
The staff is great helpful.
House is huge, with museum like feeling inside, very beautiful and cozy. It has the most beautiful sunset view from the balcony, with part of Setenil under your feet, amazing. Owner is very kind and it was super easy to communicate with him
The house talks by itself.
Clean, luxury, thematic.
So, I can only recomend for sure this place for a run away weekend / holidays in Setenil de Las Bodegas, is unique.
Hostess Elisa really cares about her guests.
Really nice hotel. Exceptionally clean. Great linens on the beds. The bathroom was a little dated, but clean and functional. A wonderful hotel for the cost. And I'm picky! Don't hesitate to book this hotel.
Apartment is ideally located close to the sights and the underground carpark so not too far to carry luggage as Setenil is very hilly.
Very cosy and individual accommodation built under the rock face.
If you want to stay in Setenil, the location is perfect. There's a tapas bar just under the apartment, but it wasn't too loud and closed up early. The apartment is spacious and was clean.
Excellent location, right in the heart of Setenil. Steps from restaurants. The owner was extremely responsive. Even helped us to find a open restaurant
