Known as the ‘real Tenerife’, San Miguel de Abona is a hidden gem of the Canary Islands and an ideal base for touring Tenerife. It has contrasting landscapes of traditional wooden terraces, rocky ridges, volcanic mountains, and valleys lined with vegetation.

I loved the well equipped spacious apartment central location .. great hosts… handy for a local bar 1.5 euro a pint! within walking distance to marina.. submarine experience. handy for San Blas (square).. entertainment… Lovely Tapas Restaurant’ Abierto’ just outside the main square… sign up for ‘TipsyTapas’ .., M/T/W/T all you can drink for 4 hrs … plus food dishes .., 22 Euro … Happy Days especially if it’s cloudy! Lots of good places to eat and drink out good supermarkets, prices very good. Great places to walk. Did not like the amount of dog shit that owners did not pick up after their dogs. Lazy and discusting.

We have been to this area 3 times now, I cannot fault it !!!! Its quite with enough shops & restaurants not too far to go to aqualand a couple of the big shopping places in car or bus trips , 2 small marina's in this area both lovely I no one definite does boat trips & submarine trips. Good for families except there is no beach.
Good for families except there is no beach. You could get the bus to Los cristianos there is 2 an hour. Much quieter than the main resorts which was lovely. There is a large supermarket as soon as you come off the motoway. We got the bus up and taxi back. San blas nice for food ect. Area is quiet.
Area is quiet. If you're looking for more life, head towards Playa las Americas. Or hire a car. You can do a lot of walking though along the beach. Turn right and you'll eventually come to a mountain that you can climb.

And we also like mountains at Tenerife, also no problem, by car to Teide National park, 40 minutes. Very close to supermarket Mercadona. Accomoodation is very clean and airy, sunny most of the day, comfortably. Rebeca is caring, she answered any questions in minutes. I visit Tenerife quite offten, so in my next stay, I would return to this apartment.
