Playa Blanca is the newest, and arguably quietest, large resort on Lanzarote, which makes it popular with families. It is partially sheltered from the Atlantic winds by the dormant Montaña Roja volcano, and volcanic rock lines its sandy beaches which are spread around a bay.
There are 3 main beaches: Playa Dorada which is popular for watersports, Playa Blanca – the most peaceful, and Playa Flamingo which is overlooked by shops, bars and restaurants serving locally caught seafood. Further east the long stretches of sand give way to the rocky Papagayo Coves whose beautiful scenery is depicted on many a postcard.
A promenade linking the 3 beaches is lined with luxury hotels and resorts available on Booking.com, many offering all inclusive options and some even have their own water park. There are also lots of cheap apartments and private villas in Playa Blanca, some of which overlook Marina Rubicon. The Castillo de las Colorados watchtower sits on a rugged piece of headland looking across the Atlantic Ocean towards the hilly terrain of Fuerteventura.
Ferries to this neighbouring Canary Island depart from just across the bay and offer beautiful views back across the whitewashed buildings towards the mountains behind Playa Blanca.

Beautiful town, very clean, locals very friendly and great with kids. Restaurants are fantastic and great choice, also very reasonably price and great quality in most. Alcohol is much cheaper too. There’s lots of beaches to choose which are all sandy and child friendly too as they are shallow and calm, apart from dorada beach which gets waves now and then from the bigger boats coming in. Most kids like that though as they find it fun. The marina is lovely and lots of restaurant’s but I personally preferred the restaurant’s on the front near the beaches as I found the food better and not as expensive.

Playa Blanca is a lovely place with great restaurants and beaches. Perfect for families as it's busy enough without being too crowded. We stayed just 10 minutes walk from Rubicon Marina where there are some lovely restaurants such as Lani's which has live music and is right on the water. If you want a table right at the waters edge at a specific restaurant, I'd suggest booking but if inside is your preference, then most take walk-ins depending on the time you head out for dinner.

We liked the marina area for eating out and walks.
We liked the marina area for eating out and walks. We ate at some good restaurants in various parts of Playa Blanca, we enjoyed the Casa Rosa and went there twice. Excellent fish and good service.
It was easy to walk all around the resort, we didn’t have a car but everything was nearby, good supermarkets, shops, restaurants.

We usually stay in purto del carmen , but we thought we would try somewhere different. Playa Blanca is lovely but a bit too quite for me
There are some lovely restaurants but the night life was too quite.

The walk along the shoreline into Playa Blanca from our hotel near the lighthouse to the marina was very pleasant. Although most nights we ate in the hotel, we also ate in an Italian on Calle Irlande near the lighthouse. It was called Gustos and I would highly recommend it - the food was exceptional and the service and decor was lovely and you must book as it was also very popular. We also ate in another Italian called Avenida 55 which was much more simple in decor but the food was delicious and great value for money.
Taxis were plentiful and very reasonable.

We loved Playa Blanca the restaurants are top notch and so many to choose from the irish Anvil Bar is a great place for drinks and food although they only serve food till 3pm in the afternoon. There are lovely walkways and two nice beaches however there were no beds or brollies which was a minus ut would go back again
The hotel has recently been completely refurbished, the apartment spacious and the kitchen very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and a 'double' is actually two single beds together so the size of a UK superking. The pool area has loads of sunbeds but was quite quiet during our stay at the end of November and has no annoying music playing. There is a large variety of restaurants a short walk away and it is less than a half hour's walk into the centre of Playa Blanca. The one repair required was done within half a day.
The villa was exactly what I needed and communication with Yassel was simple throughout. Peaceful but with easy access to all amenities, location was perfect for me - a short ten minute walk down to Marina Rubicon and just under thirty to the middle of Playa Blanca via the lovely seafront walk. The pool and patio area get the sun all day from early on but there's enough shade to take a break when needed! Also fantastically private and not overlooked
The villas are very well located and have the benefit of using some of the hotel facilities also especially the pool. Marina Rubicon and the choice of restaurants, shops and the promenade walkway are exceptional. I highly recommend Villas Volcan for a stay in Playa Blanca. The host Ricardo is a gentleman and very helpful. We will be back at the earliest opportunity.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is spread over a large area so generally doesn't feel too crowded. Adults only area was quiet. Room was spacious and clean. Location was quiet, approx 30 minute walk along the coast into Playa Blanca
location was great right on the marina.. restaurants all within 5 minutes away and a good choice of food. a 15 minute stroll along the promenade took you to the beach.. Playa Blanca town is walkable takes about 25 minutes from hotel or a taxi ride is about 10 minute.
Really liked our apartment, spacious, well-maintained, clean. Nice location, close to the ocean, amazing Italian restaurant nearby, not far from Playa Blanca, Playa del Papagayo and other attractions. There is a supermarket and bar next to the apartments. Quiet area.
Food was delicious. Show cooking with amazing chefs.
Staff friendly & clearly like their jobs.
Beautiful pool area. Short walk to a beautiful beach playa flamingo. Playa Blanca was great resort with lovely walks along from both marinas. Can't wait to return..
I had a very nice stay at the hotel. Very comfortable rooms, great breakfast selection and ample free parking space in garage and street. Short walk to Shopping Centre and Marina Restaurants. Staff were very helpful. Entire resort is very clean, including room.
All the facilities are incredible spacious room amazing pool, staffs are very friendly, they have activities for all ages, food was good all included system tem are perfect, and Hotel very near to playa blanca and flamingo beach so location was excelent too.
Location was perfect for the Rubicon Marina or a short walk in the other direction to the centre of Playa Blanca
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel was modern and stylish we had a junior suite which was very comfortable and spacious
Convenient location near many restaurants and shops. Lovely staff who were eager to help make your stay comfortable and offer suggestions and recommendations. Good value for the money. Easy and convenient to park your hire car.
Location is perfect for Playa Blanca being able to reach many places like restaurants in 10 minutes and the beach in 3 minutes. Cleanness of the house and very spacious. Carlos the host is extremely kind and helpfull.
Close to beach, ocean view balcony, food and drink in the restaurant in quality and variety. Good family resort at a reasonable price. (we chose All inclusive)
The views were fantastic and staff friendly. Hotel really good. A few good restaurants nearby. Easy to get to Playa Blanca and Marina Rubicon by taxi or bus.
Excellent hotel with a beautiful junior suite and sea view
