Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Mojacar is a medieval Moorish, town in the Spanish Province of Almería. This white-walled destination, which is situated on a rocky hillside at the foot of the Sierra de Cabrera, will surprise you with its natural beauty and unique architecture.
Rich in history and cultural heritage, Mojacar has been populated since the 2000 BC by Moors, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans. Today, it is a maze of narrow streets with local shops, street markets and restaurants serving traditional dishes like the ancient 'gachas'.
Travellers can park their car and explore the old town of this beautiful resort on foot. Home to 17 km of Blue Flag sandy beaches like Granatilla, the Playa de los Genoveses and the Playa de Monsul, the modern part of this coastal resort is an ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, sailing and surfing. Golf lovers can visit the 18-hole courses of the Marina Golf and Desert Springs.
Almería Airport is about 55 km from Mojacar and has flights to big cities like London, Brussels and Barcelona. Check the Booking.com deals and choose from a variety of hotels, apartments and guest houses in Mojacar or the nearby cities of Vera and Carboneras.

A beautiful setting completely turned over to tourism.
A beautiful setting completely turned over to tourism. Beachfront section is super developed and too lengthy to walk. Are those hotels all-inclusives? The lack of private restaurants and supermarkets would indicate so.

Fantastic views. Not many (or any ?)
Fantastic views. Not many (or any ?) eating places open early on Saturday evening in late November, but I was told sometimes they open up later on. If relying on this for a meal it's worth checking in advance. But it's an attractive settlement with impressive panoramic scenic views.

Very good beaches also lots of different restaurants.
Very good beaches also lots of different restaurants. We ate at The Lemon Lounge (very good value for money and very yummy), Cheers (very good food and service), Chae's (wonderful fish and chips also the curry was lovely), Hong Kong (very nice food but slow service), Indian Restaurant (forgot name but it is near the opticians) very nice. The Cariba which was near the hotel for lunch, very good value for a lovely lunch).
It is very easy to get from place to place in Mojacar wither by car, which there are no parking fees, or by bus which is very cheap.
We usually stay in The Oasis Del Mar which is near a large amount of restaurants and a beach across the road (our special place in Mojacar)

lovely holiday beach resort with facilities to suit all...
lovely holiday beach resort with facilities to suit all budgets and ages. It's worth a trip to the old town which is a few minutes away by car. I had expected some shops along the front but they didn't exist just the normal cheap china shops.
1. The front desk rep., Nehuen that helped us each day was fantastic!'
He was always smiling and more than willing to help us with our questions/needs. He really made our stay a wonderful experience. Thank you Nehuen!!
2. The view from the room was wonderful... peaceful and relaxing. Enjoyed the sunrise in the mornings and sunsets in the evenings on the terrace, which was very good size!
3. We liked that the hotel is located at the end of Mojacar... less traffic and quiet!

Great room with big balcony facing the sea and pool. Local buses to go to Mojacar pueblo and the restaurants and pubs by the sea front until 2 in the morning. Small supermarket just opposite the hotel with all the basics. Fantastic swimming pools with plenty of " tumbonas" and shade. Animation staff really friendly and enthusiastic with lots of different activities for kids and grown ups. The beach just over the other side of the road with two chiringuitos open all day. Great breakfast buffet.
Lovely modern, spacious self contained apartment. Pool was lovely, quiet and clean. Nice terrace to sit with friends. Quiet complex and safe and secure. Parking is located through gated community in the underground garage. Lovely bars nearby and Badgers for breakfast was great value! €1.20 to ride the bus anywhere in Mojacar. Worth the trip up to the Pueblo, beautiful narrow and winding whitewashed buildings - streets lead to lots of different artisan shops, bars and restaurants.
Open the door from the room and there's the beach!
It's a hotel from the 80s so isn't decorated in a modern style by any means, but that pales completely into insignificance when you consider the beachfront location, the service from Paca, the owner and the breakfast (continental). All this for just over 40€.
I'll definitely be back there.
It’s a 1 star hotel so can’t ask for too much from it. I chose to stay there because there was no availability at other 3 or 4 star hotels. I think it’s a bit overpriced since better hotels were like 60€ more for the 4 nights that I stayed so the price is very expensive for what it offers.
Everything about hotel and staff was wonderful, breakfast was super and the lady who served us in the morning always had a smile on her face; I'd like to add having recently become partially disabled i found access to outside and inside hotel, our room was on the ground floor
Location was great to catch the bus outside up to the old town. Lovely sea view from room which was opposite the hotel Room was large and housemaid was good Pools were great and clean, with life guard We will definitely be going back after the summer rush
A very friendly family run hospederia. The hosts were extremely welcoming and the terrace was a local meeting place for village and visitors. It is situated in a beautiful hillside village only 5 minutes drive to the sea front with an amazing restaurant opposite.
The view is amazing. Right in the heart of Mojacar Pueblo but lovely and quiet. Everything was provided plus extras. The lady Adela was really good at explaining everything. It was dog friendly and our Spanish Water Dog, Jeffrey loved it too 😊
Large room with balcony enjoying lovely views over the pueblo and surrounding area. Open plan with large bath in the room. Quiet location within 5 mins drive of Mojacar pueblo. Amber is a very friendly and accommodating host.
We liked the location, walking distance to the old town and nice views or the sea. The pool was nice and refreshing after a long ride on the motorbike. The room was clean and the staff friendly.
Absolutely idyllic apartment in Mojacar pueblo. Stunning views to the sea and secreted away from the busy outside world by a cave-like staircase. Hosts were so welcoming and kind. We loved it.
Hotel has been modernised and is now really
Comfy. Stayed here many times but is now a great experience. I was particularly impressed with the food and service in the new restaurant.
loved our stay at the beautiful boutique hotel el olivar in the pretty town of mojacar, location excellent, rooms lovely and clean with lovely views and rain forest showers.
