The birthplace of Picasso is as colorful as an artists palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and youll find your place among the youthful square of the old center, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.
There's also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.
A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga 's most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 6 miles from the center of town.
From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you're sure to find the perfect place to stay for your sunny vacation.

It is a very nice city.
It is a very nice city. The city town center is just amazing. A lot of activities for everyone : the youngest as the oldest. We enjoy the cycle tour we did with MAlaga tour bike. It is easy to get around the city by bus or on foot.

Fantastic weather in April.
Fantastic weather in April. Warm, but not too warm for sight-seeing. Walked up to the castillo de Gilbralfaro where you have fantastic views of the bullring and the port and we visited the Alcazaba. The ticket is valid for 48 hours, so can be done over 2 days. We went to Malagueta beach and the casa natal de Picasso. There were lots of restaurants to eat out in in the area around the Picasso museum and the plaza de la merced. It was easy to get around The bus from the airport takes you directly to the cathedral. The centre pompidou is also an interesting building and the harbour area is interesting to explore.

There is a lot to do in Malaga - recommend the Picasso museum, the Centro Pompidou, but not necessarily the Alegria flamenco show which is purely for tourists and found the room a bit oppressive, difficult to see the dancing.
Restaurants: book ahead for El Meson de Cervantes, best tapas in town, and Pampa Grill - great Argentinian style cooking, top quality, fab cocktail and wine.
Walking around the city itself is easy and interesting. The cathedral is also well worth a look, even if you're not into churches. Also visit the Alcazar.

Food was excellent wherever we dined - from moroccan to spanish, jamon to gelato, fine dining modern to traditional rustic, cuisine was exactly what we came for, and we weren't disappointed.
Historic district is extremely walkable, clean and charming.
Buy your tickets in advance if you plan to visit Picasso Museum.
Centre Pompidou is a fabulous modern art museum by the marina, Malaga Catedral architecture is impressive, and Museum of Music were all just stumbled upon on our walkabouts - we got tickets at the door to all/no line. Latter was a fascinating walk-thru with historical instruments displayed and a few basic ones you can play - kids loved it

This is a great city.
This is a great city. It's vibrant, but has tranquil parts, has loads of things to do, whether you like art or clubs and fabulous bars and restaurants. The people are welcoming and helpful and the historic part of Malaga is beautiful.
Most people land in Malaga airport and drive out to the beaches elsewhere. Wrong! No matter what age you are, the city has lots to offer. It's full of life and we really enjoy it.
Modern boutique like hotel located a few minutes walk from Alameda central station so excellent hotel if arriving by train.
About 15/20 minutes walk to old town.
Room clean and all amenities provided if anything forgotten eg razor, toothbrush, shoe shine.
Excellent breakfast was continental with good variety.
Staff pleasant and friendly. Usually someone on reception who spoke English if necessary.
There was no bar but an area to the side of reception where you could sit if waiting for a friend.
I thoroughly recommend.
The hotel is central to the shopping and old town of Malaga, 10 minutes from railway station and 20 minutes from airport, both by taxi. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were wonderful, with a special treat waiting in our room when we got back to it at night. I think the room we had may have been an upgrade as it was on the Essence floor (5) and the room was one of the best we have stayed in. Probably exaggerating a little but the bed was as big as a football pitch.
The hotel is very close to a Renfe station and therefore the airport, it has a very good location also being close to the beach and the old town. The room is clean, I think they even mopped the floor every day. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel. It is plus that they have luggage storage service. For example my flight left only at 20:30, and I did not have to worry about my luggage after checkout at 12:00.
Great hotel near the Malaga Alameda Centro train station (~20 min train to the airport). We arrived very early, around 11 AM, instead of the standard check-in time - 2 PM, but they gave us a room. The room had enough space for 2 people and had a big bathroom. The WiFi signal was great (we stayed on the 7th floor). Breakfast was great - different types of meats, fruits, drinks, etc. It is only a 15 - 20 mins walk to the beach!
Can't really fault this hotel, the location is excellent for malaga old town and the main commercial street. We didn't take breakfast in the hotel but there are 3 cafes within a 5min walk.
There are also numerous bars in the area too.
The room was very tastefully decorated, well proportioned. The bathroom modern and exceptionally clean. The staff are super helpful and friendly.
Excellent hotel, definitely book.
Wonderful location in heart of shopping district. Very safe pick for 21 yo woman traveling alone. Easy to find hotel via taxi from airport. Easy check-in/out. Lovely breakfast. Room was spacious, quiet - excellent bedding. Have stayed in Malaga before - closer to beach at B&B - this was a nice change to be so close to restaurants and activity. Incredibly walkable to everything.
I have used this hotel a couple different times when I have to fly out of Malaga. Usually my flights are always at 6 AM in the morning in this hotel is a
perfect distance to the Airport. The staff is always friendly when checking in and throughout my visit.
They're kind enough to print boarding passes at no charge. The rooms you're always clean and I feel safe on the hotel grounds.
Located close to the beach and had free parking in the street. Spacious apartment with lots of rooms and beds. Clean kitchen and shower. We really liked the nearby Huelin neighborhood for food and drinks with the locals instead of the touristy old town. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They offered us to stay longer and also to take us to the airport for our flight home.
IT WAS CLEAN. On our 4th day in Malaga we decided to change hotel from the previous. The immense difference in class this hotel has compared to some in the old town. They also stored our luggage since we were there before check in. Honestly we did not leave the room, the tv has YouTube and Netflix. Great hotel for fair price.
Such a wonderful hotel! Everything is super nicely renovated and in impeccable condition. The hotel is located in the heart of old town Malaga and has incredibly friendly staff- thanks Cristobal and colleagues! the highlight is the rooftop outdoor terrace where you can have your breakfast on a sunny day
The location is amazing. It is right on the beach, but on a quieter side so no noise at night. It is also walking distance to almost all the hot spots in Malaga. It has a view of the sea, and the space is very cleverly used. Was a private apartment but with hotel ammenities. Fantastic.
The definition of boutique is definitely appropriate, I would rate the hotel, room, breakfast and staff more than a 10 if I could. It was one of the best hotel's we've stayed at, a 5 star memorable experience that we will won't forget. We would stay again if we return to Malaga!
I love this place. I also love the feeling and comfortable of it. Close to everything: walking distance from the train station and 10mins drive from the airport. Only thing is that I did not expect the hotel in malaga is a bit pricey compared to other city in spain.
Close to it all. Old town, back streets, train station, port, beach, castle, even Malaga C.F stadium. Compact hotel and good value with the authentic back street Spanish city feel. Good guy on reception who gave alot of solid recommendations and things to see.
Perfect location in the old town centre of Malaga :). You can easily walk to all nice places in Malaga from here. The beach will take a 15 min walk. The appartement is simple but good. Everything you need; enough space, nice bed, nice shower and airco!
The hotel is very well located. The staff is amazing and very helpful! Breakfast is tasty 😋 The rooms are clean and the bed is very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay in Soho Boutique Malaga!
Nearby old town, and also nearby main trainstation(5min walk), line direct from airport.
New boutique hotel, room well and efficiently furnished, bathroom with great shower, very good beds
Very well located. Walking distance to the Marina, Old town, Train or Bus station. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would try first when were next in Malaga looking for a hotel.
