Set against the backdrop of desert and mountains, Sharm el Sheikh is a year-round Red Sea diving and beach resort. Although based on an existing village, it is very much a purpose-built holiday town, with lots of international brands of hotel, restaurant and bar lining its sandy shores.
The oldest part surrounds the Old Market, a heady mix of shisha and spices, roughly in the middle of the Naama Bay and Um el Sid suburbs. The other Sharm districts of Shark’s Bay and Nabq Bay are along the coast by Sharm el Sheikh Airport.
The Red Sea offers some of the world’s best dive spots with rich underwater life on the deep reefs of the amazing Ras Mohammed National Park. Other watersports include windsurfing, kayaking or banana boating, and the Cleopark waterpark has flumes, pools and rapids.
Other things to do include shopping at Il Mercato mall and the many souvenir stalls, karting at Ghibli Raceway, or watching a show at the Arabian-styled Alf Leila Wa Leila. Outside town you can go horse or camel riding in the desert, and visit a Bedouin village or St Catherine’s Monastery in the Sinai peninsula hills.
The Sharm el Sheikh accommodation on Booking.com covers everything from 5-star holiday resorts to all-inclusive hotels with pools, and cheap apartments.

The hotel s contracted beach, Viva Beach was tidy, clean and the staff was friendly.
We had three or four dinners at El-Masrien restaurant and were satisfied.
Altough the service was a bit erratic, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable.
It was very easy to travel around that we visited the Old Town and Soho Square by using local minibus.
I must say that it is always necessary to bargain when shopping and taking taxi.

The area of Sharm El Sheikh is stunning and there is plenty to do. Shop around for trips out as there is a huge price variance between vendors and pay up front as most charge for credit / debit card use and cash machines are massively expensive to use with terrible rates.

Didn't travel much outside of our resort (only a brief stay for 7 days).
Not a fan of the airport - take your own toilet roll!! It seems to be held to ransom by employees of the airport, who expect you to pay for them handing you toilet paper/hand towels, something I am not accustomed to, coming from the UK.

It was not the first time I chose this hotel, and I felt at home from the very first moment again - and would always go back to the Il Mercato any time possible. I specially like the architecture (Jugendstil), the spaciousness, the interior design with beautiful pictures of flowers/plants, the old lamps, the floors in marble, the high ceilings, the courtyard of the restaurant with real palm trees, etc. This hotel is just beautiful and well kept!
It is perfectly located, with Hadaba and Old Market very near and the possibility to walk around any time, do some shopping etc. You have a choice of beaches and can even walk down to Il Terrazzina or other beaches as well.

My visit to Sharm El-Sheikh was marred by experiences that made me, as a woman, feel uncomfortable and sometimes unsafe. There’s a noticeable push to exploit tourists, which goes beyond simple haggling to situations that feel more like scams. My unease peaked during a taxi ride when the driver made inappropriate advances, attempting to touch my legs, which was both alarming and a clear violation of personal boundaries. Despite Sharm El-Sheikh’s beautiful surroundings, such incidents can overshadow the joys of exploring this destination. For female travelers, it’s essential to stay vigilant and prioritize safety.

We moved from another 5 stars hotel to Rioxs. And it was the best thing we have made. Our stay was just perfect in every sense of the way. Perfect setting, best food in Sharm, great serivces all around. The Golf Car drivers (Alaa, Ahmed, and Sulimna) really took good care of my family. The main resturant and the ala carte resurants were just delcious. The spa (Mohammed) was above and beyound. The night shows- we had fun every night. Truly, it was an amazing holiday. Thanks Rixos Sharm team.
Very nice and very comfortable hotel. All inclusive The room was very clean and big and air conditioned. A lot of swimming pools and restaurants. The aqua park is nice. The meals are special and tasty. Bravo chef. The staff is perfect, the service is fast and you got the VIP fillings.
The beach is wonderful and filly equipped. Meals drinks, towels, jacuzzi, cold beers. The reef is amazing. I have only one complaint, some of the restaurants do not have air conditions, believe me it is not nice in hot weather.
the property itself had everything you could want and it really does live up to the 5 star name. there was many locations within the hotel that you could take great pictures, the pools were very clean, food selection was great and varied everyday. there’s ice cream, drinks, burgers, chips etc. it’s very family friendly. The staff are very attentive and sweet & amend to your needs where possible. i would definitely go back and stay in this resort simply due to the stunning views at sun sent from the balcony!
Fantastic hotel with exceptional staff. When my wife and I read some of the reviews, we were sceptical, as we were going on vacation by plane for the first time with our 8-month-old daughter. All worries were unnecessary, our daughter was taken care of perfectly. The cleaner, Ashraf took excellent care of our room, which was always clean. Also guys at restaurant work very good. The pool is large and well maintained, and there is a bus to the beach. I recommend the hotel to everyone. 5 stars.
The rooms were stunning with beautiful decor, fresh, clean and amazing views to the pools. There are couple of hot pools for winter which was lovely. The staff were absolutely amazing, very welcoming and helpful throughout! Food was lovely as part of all inclusive and it was quite lovely to have an adult only hotel, for a quiet and relaxing break. Great location, near a row of shops and about 25 mins taxi to Naama bay and 20 mins to old market.
I would give the hotel a glowing 5 out of 5 stars! The experience was exceptional from start to finish. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The room was comfortable and spotless, offering a perfect retreat after a busy day. The hotel's amenities were top-notch, and the location was ideal for exploring the area. I couldn't have asked for a better stay! and lucca is the best
The hotel is very clean and everyone except the buffet chef has a very nice attitude. I was surprised that the outdoor bar was free. I ordered a Jack Daniel's and it tasted completely wrong. Then I ordered the red label and it didn't taste right either.
I don't know why a 5 star hotel would have something like this happen. This makes me doubt the quality of all the food and beverages in this hotel
this structure looks more like a large barracks than a 5 star hotel, the restaurant looks like a large company canteen, with little variety of low quality food, but what I found unacceptable is the poor cleanliness of the room, even the presence of dozens of people in the room of mosquitoes, impossible to sleep during the night, except for the care of the gardens, and the coral reef, and the view
Good standard for Egyptian 5 star, feels more clean and taken care of. Nice and polite staff. The food is okey, not the best. 5 minute drive from airport. Okey beach, it’s taken good care of by the staff. It’s nice to walk along beachside to other hotels as well. The property is well taken care of. It’s really nice environment and pools is nice. Good training room.
Hotel was very good, beach is perfect full of fish and small reefs, crystal clear water. There are plenty of pools and bars at the common areas. All inclusive also includes alcoholic drinks. Meals were good enough for us. Staff was very good also, they are ready to help always. Special thanks to Mr. Islam at the front desk for creating miracles for us.
There is alcohol included in the All Inclusive.
the hotel has a place to enjoy the sea (to jump).
Some barman prefer to serve the Russian guest (maybe because some tips or the girls?).
The barman Rajab is very professional and friendly.
our booking had a day pass to Acqua Park included and it’s amazing.
Beautiful hotel with a number of swimming pools. Rooms are very spacious, clean and modern. Special thanks to Mohammed Okasha for taking care of our room so well. The all inclusive deal with breakfast, lunch and dinner is a bargain.
Highly recommend their dive center, and specially the night night.
one of the best hotels I stayed. great service, friendly staff. despite being a huge hotel they make you feel unique … great facilities, plenty of options for food and drinks (all inclusive). truly a gem. will come back soon!
Great value for money! Amazing small water park for the young and teen. Good and decent rooms, very clean. All inclusive food deal that doesn't lead to more expenses.
Shuttles to the beach, naama bay and Soho are available.
Staff were friendly, close to the city centre you can take the shuttle provided from the hotel or you can also walk, it takes 15mins. Wide selection of breakfast (we only booked for breakfast, not all inclusive).
The staff is amazing n the property is clean . The hotel manager Mohammed did a great service and all the staff was outstanding. This hotel is the best in naama bay n everything is good.
Nice resort with good staff. Food is also good and I highly recommend the all inclusive option when booking. Entertainment team have on going activities and events organized for guests.
Friendly, helpful and professional staff from reception to the dining room to the beach bar: excellent! Front line hotel. Truly 5 stars. Great snorkelling and lots of sunshine!
