Location is central. Historic building with amazing garden (trees, flamingos, pool etc). Firstly I was impressed by the decoration and design of the hotel, it is very authentic and pretty, a very good place to stay in the historical city Luxor. Secondly, the owner Sayed and his staff was so helpful and friendly, the owner is a gentle and humble man, I am biased towards him. Then the food was so nice, we had a dinner extra to the breakfast, so good. 好吃,中国人不骗中国人。 Lastly the location is fabulous, it’s so close to the main sites. We had a very pleasant time there, my family and friends love it so much.

The location across the river from the noise of downtown Luxor was great. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our room was huge and the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't get to enjoy the pool, but it looked nice and the gardens were beautiful.

The temples and archaeological sites are amazing. But beware of many people in Luxor trying to get you on the horse and cart, boats, sell you stuff, and who follow you around trying to con you. Dont be duped into going to the "one day a week" market that is a bazaar/shop in a dirty back street. If you dont buy anything they will demand 1000EGP anyway. The souk (market) is ok, but the harassment to buy is too much. I felt very uncomfortable after 3 days and wanted to get out of there

Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history.
Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history. Karnak & Luxor temple and Avenue of Sphinxes on East Bank of Nile & Valley of Kings/Artists, Hatshepsut temple, Medinet Habu, Deir-el-madina on the west bank are the places we visited during our stay.
We didn't eat out as it was Ramadan and we wanted to be discreet with food when travelling to the sites.
We hired a guide through Aswan individual to drive and explain the significance behind the places we visited and hence, unsure as to how to travel otherwise. Having a car would be better, as the sites are spread across the city, but a cycle would do just fine.
It is better to start early in Luxor as it tends to get hot as the day progresses. So, we did most of our trips from around 7 till 2 and rested in the afternoons.
We really enjoyed our time in Luxor.

Luxor is indeed a wonderful city with captivating historical sites. However, tourists should exercise caution when dealing with the locals. Some may be overly persistent, following you and invading your privacy in their attempts to receive money, even if they haven't provided any service or assistance. It's essential to remain vigilant and assert boundaries to ensure a pleasant experience while exploring this remarkable destination.

We did the hot air balloon ride and it was AWESOME!!
We did the hot air balloon ride and it was AWESOME!! We had already done the tour of the different temples and those are also very interesting. The felucca ride, if you haven't done one is really relaxing and quiet. I would skip the Banana Island "zoo" unless you really want to pet a baby alligator or hold monkey. We used In-Drive to get taxis - especially useful from the airport, as the taxi drivers at the airport want to overcharge you 5 times the amount. We went to the mumification museum, which was small but still interesting. You only need about 30 minutes there.

Loved the hot air balloon ride (only take the sunrise trip), the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings (the Valley of the Queens is similar, less grand, and can be skipped if you have less time). I also took a day trip to Dendera and Abydos to see the temples. Was great to see some rural Egypt along the way and beautiful desert scenery. The Hathos Temple in Dendera was perhaps the best of temples I saw in Egypt and very much worth it!
Luxor Palace was our favorite stay during our trip. We loved being close to fields and farm animals rather than the noise and commotion of the East Bank. It's a short walk and quick boat ride from the heart of the East Bank. The view from the rooftop was amazing - the Nile in one direction and the West Bank sites (like Hapshetsut's Temple) in the other. The breakfasts were always fresh and were the best we had in Egypt. The staff were very attentive to our needs and helped arrange our travel to and from the hotel.
We arrived at the hotel and were welcomed with a room upgrade. Our suite was beautiful with super comfy beds and a balcony with a view to the Nile and the sunset. Maviey Ayman and the other guest services young ladies are very friendly and always happy to help. We loved the meals at the Egyptian restaurant by the pool and were treated like royalty by Peter and also by Iman and Nagha at the pool bar. We absolutely loved our stay at Sonesta St George and would love to visit again in the future💕
The location of the hotel is the best thing! we loved being on the west bank of Luxor, far from the crowds of the city. The hotel itself is very nice and clean, and it has amazing views from the roof top! We arrived very early in the morning and they offered to prepare breakfast for us, which was a very nice detail. We could also make the laundry and they didn’t want to charge us extra money.
It has been, probably, the best hotel in Egypt we’ve been. Unbeatable quality-price.
Abdul and his team are amazing hosts – I was skeptical when I saw the 9.9 rating on Booking.com but the hospitality was top-notch and the best I’ve received in Egypt.
Abdul and his team (i.e. Omar, Alla) made sure that everything was taken care of – meals, transportation, tours etc. The entire experience was authentic (and in a quiet part of Luxor too!)
Highly recommend – allow Abdul and his wonderful team to take care of your holiday needs.
The views to Luxor Temple and Winter Palace at sundown were spectacular. The village atmosphere and friendliness and dedication of the staff there is exceptional. This was my first time in Egypt, and as a solo female, the whole atmosphere at Villa Sunrise was so welcoming and safe it made the whole experience so special. The rooms are apartments so have laundry and cooking facilities too if you want but the meals in the restaurant are great!!!
We're so glad we stayed in the quiet West Bank of Luxor at Malkata House. The balcony, food, and atmosphere were fantastic and the staff was very welcoming and ensured our stay, transportation, and activities were seamless. Wifi worked well and the apartment had plenty of space with picturesque domed ceilings. This was the first neighborhood in Egypt we felt safe and enjoyed walking around. Many locals expressed words of welcome when we did.
I really loved the rooftop cafe where they served breakfast and lunch/dinner. I was able to watch the balloons in the morning from the west bank. You can walk across the street to Luxor temple which I liked as well. Reem, one of the hosts was super helpful and they also helped us hold luggage in the lobby while we explored our extra day. The value for this hotel is really great and one of our favorite places we stayed in Egypt.
We had a lovely stay at Cleopatra Hotel, unfortunately only for one night. The staff was really welcoming and helpful. A big thanks also to Mahmut for the nice Egyptian Breakfast on the wonderful rooftop terrace with a view on the Temple of Hatschepsut.
Located at Westbank, it's a comparable calm location but a very good starting point for a visit to the valley of the kings etc.
Definitely to recommend!
Almost everything. A wonderful homestay experience in Luxor. Situated in the west bank area (almost 40 minutes from downtown). Rooms were very clean, breakfast and dinner was very nice (Egyptian style). House owner and wife were very nice and helpful. We got rooms in the first floor so my mother didn't have to climb too many stairs. View from rooftop is nice. Many banana fields are nearby.
Fantastic place to stay in Luxor. Mr. Sayed is an excellent host and really love hosting people. We had a great time from our check in to the reservation of the balloon ride. Best hotel I've stayed in Egypt so far. Furthermore, the breakfast is very good, so is the breakfast box. The place is very quite, close to the main attractions in the West Bank and the room is rather comfortable.
I liked pretty much everything about the hotel.
The location on the West Bank of the Nile is quiet and offers a look at ordinary Egyptian life.
The owner Foud is a great guy and was very helpful. The staff are really nice as well.
If you are traveling in summer the rooftop pool really comes in handy. The price is really good and the hotel has a lot of character.
The staff were absolutely amazing. We’ve been in Egypt for 3 weeks. Travelled to Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada. We’ve stayed in all 5 star hotels. This has to be the best experience we’ve had in a 5 star hotel. The staff went out of the way to celebrate my daughters birthday who turned 4 with cake and music. I would definitely recommend if you visit Luxor.
Great experience to stay in an Egyptian hotel overlooking the Nile and Luxor temple from the rooftop restaurant while having the buffet breakfast There's also a street level eatery that leads into the large bazaar. Lots of dining options a short walk away. WiFi was fine. Magic Carpet Travel provided an excellent personalised tour for us.
Hotel is good for just 1-2 nights. Overall I would say its an expensive budget hotel. Staff is all well
Mannered and helpful.
Kitchen guy help me with extra omelette as I am lactose intolerant.
Terrace has the overview of the temple which is a steal but due to the nature of Egypt itself, u can smell manure from horses everywhere.
It’s a real place and you feel that you are in Egypt and in Luxor in the first minute. A beautiful Oasis near the Nile with a wonderful view. The pool is great and you have special breakfast and dinner outside in the garden. The boat to the other side works perfect and it’s a great location for all the visits in the west side!
This was by far the nicest place we stayed in Egypt. The hotel was an oasis of calm in Luxor and perfect for relaxing after a long day seeing the sites. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast and buffet dinner has a huge choice (even for vegetarians) and the pool area with a view right on the Nile was a real highlight.
Extra large rooms in a small hotel that has an old Egypt feel. Beds and bedding are wonderful. The garden is a wonderful place to relax, read, and enjoy the delicious meals served. Abdu and staff provide excellent, friendly hospitality.
we have the room on the top floor. spacious room and with very good view to see the Nile and West Bank. very clean and comfortable. Best value hotel from our entire trip in Egypt. it’s much better than stay in the cruise.
Perfect place, very nice location Egyptian village with great vibes. Owner really supportive and lovely person. If we come back luxor no hesitation we go there ❤️
