There was a great restaurant across the square from the hotel, next to the station building. The Pizza was especially good.
There was free parking in the station carpark around 100m away from the hotel and what looked like a number of other free parking opportunities in the area.

Lovely little town with a variety of old buildings, small streets, lovely park areas and good choices of food outlets. Ate at the Ristorante Fratelli across the street from the hotel. Excellent ! ! Easy to walk around to town.

Kolding was a bit of a mixed bag.
Kolding was a bit of a mixed bag. We stayed for 2 nights and used it as a base to travel to Legoland and other parts of Jutland. The drive into Kolding was slow due to traffic, and finding parking next to the hotel was tricky with the different duration rules, but then settled on parking in the hotel itself. In the evening, around 7ish, the area around the castle felt very quiet, too quiet. There were restaurants open but it did not feel lively, though this may have been because it was mid April.
A nice stop was at the StorCentre shopping centre. Plenty more people here, lots of shops and lots of food opens. Restaurants seem to stay open longer here than the rest of denmark in general.
All in all not a bad stay, definitely needed more time to explore.

Beautiful Town near the coast, (Little Belt) with a lake.
Beautiful Town near the coast, (Little Belt) with a lake. Good starting point for a daytrip to other sights in Denmark such as Ribe (viking town), Legoland (less then 1 hour drive), Kopenhagen (2.5 hours), Bogense (50 mins).
Only a view minutes from the lake you have several sushi bars, pizza takeaways, thai restaurant, fine dining, supermarket and a passage with pubs. There is also a wonderful botanical garden with petting zoo (goats), rose garden and a miniture of the town of Kolding to walk through.

Kolding is a nice town with a good history.
Kolding is a nice town with a good history. The viking castle in the middle of the town is obviously a main attraction, but if you look further you'll find a toy-museum downtown, and if you venture a little outside of the center, you'll find the Trapholt museum, which is very modern and progressive. Kolding also has an amazing graffiti-culture which really shines when you walk around downtown.
If you're looking for lunch, go to either Tobber's or The Mokka Café, and if you rather fancy a burger the only place you need to go is the Burger Spot.
If you're looking for dinner, you can have dinner at the restaurant in the viking castle. It's one of the best restaurants in Kolding. A bit pricey, but worth it. Otherwise, downtown you'll find Rafael's Ristorante, and if you're not in the mood for Italian, you can skip down to Hereford Beefstouw.
If you want to hit the town for a beer in the evening, there are three quality places to look for. If you're looking for the young crowd you need to go to Knud's Garage. For a more adult crowd seek out the You'll Never Walk Alone pub (this is also the place to go if you're looking for a sports-pub). Finally, if you're more of a nightclub kinda person, Pitstop is the best in Kolding.
not all hotels have family rooms. this does which really is an advantage. the staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel is well located in the center of the city and near by the fjord. restaurants can be reached in walking distance. there is coffee and tea for free and popcorn and cake in the afternoon and additionally slush which made our son very happy. the breakfast room was really nice as you sit in a bright room with huge windows and the sun shines in in the morning.
I've stayed before, the setting is great, quiet and the rooms are well-appointed. Is well worth the money. Restaurant food is good and it's got a cool bar. Bathrooms are nicely designed and immaculately clean. Staff are really good
Cozy and clean and full of amenities for an at-home feeling. Beautiful property and the owner Peter is very nice. Lovely room-delivered breakfast for an extra fee. Only a short drive to shopping and restaurants.
We've spent one night in Mit Bed & Breakfast. Everything was exeptional, clean and comfortable. Karen Margrethe is a lovely host. I can't recomend her and her BnB more. :) Kolding is a beautiful city!
We had a short but pleasant stay in Kolding at the cozy room. Very helpful and flexible owner who has even assisted us with our battery problem of our car. Good communication with the owner.
My girlfriend and me stayed at Comwell Kolding for one night. Good breakfast with a lot of variates of your standard english breakfast and Danish foods. Beds are ver good and comfortable.
The parking is OK, and the breakfast was not too bad, although there was not enough room for everyone to sit (and the restaurant next door has plenty of space but was not allowed).
It was a very nice place. A little quirky but good. We got a parking place which was great, but only 3 places.
The location is great as very close to centre restaurants etc
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was extremely warm and friendly 😀 Awesome breakfast! Very good location, super close to Kolding Central Station.
Hotel staff was exemplary. We were at awe with their friendliness and assistance. Everything, from arrival to departure was perfect. We loved our stay here.
