The guest house was clean and well managed. Our hosts were friendly and the location was exceptionally beautiful. We enjoyed walking around the farm, seeing the sheep, Icelandic horses and sheep dogs. Using the common kitchen was a way to interact with the other guests and find out what was good to see in the area.

The remoteness was nice but sadly clouds impacted our northern lights viewing. It was big enough for our family of five.

Exactly what we were looking for. One of a series of cabins with everything needed for a couple. Great view and good basic accommodations.
There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more...
There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more westerly one (the other is on the Golden Circle to the south). We visited Vidgelmir, the lava tube, and it was fabulous! It's cold inside so dress warmly. The guides were all geologists who specialize in this kind of formation and were knowledgeable about both geology and the history of the tube. Krauma geothermal baths and restaurant: the baths were expensive and we didn't go but the restaurant served great food (also expensive as is all food in Iceland).
Lovely place run by father and son. We came early and got our room anyway. Very friendly atmosphere. The place has character, a perfect mix between being in the country side and having comfort.
The breakfast was a traditional breakfast. Do not compare it with a buffet breakfast at big urban hotel, but it was perfect for the situation, and there were plenty of food and variety that everyone should be able to find something of their likings.
The bed was very good, with crepe beddings (my favorite). We will go back there again another time.
Well maintained and updated farmhouse overlooking the valleys of Reykholt. Had a fun breakfast with the hostess/owner and other guests - chatting about our experiences and home countries. My room was charming and comfortable with farmhouse decor. Really appreciated the cluster of multiple bathrooms and showers for the guests. There is a hot tub on the balcony. Always enjoy seeing dogs on the premises.
The house is beautifully appointed. Beds are so comfortable and there is a hot tub and a sauna. You can make a great meal in the kitchen and the relax outside looking at an incredible view with a glass of wine. The perfect place to unwind. Excellent blinds for bright summer nights. Lots of great hiking and natural attractions to see. Recommend checking out the tours organized by Hotel Husafell
Wonderful place, very clean room and very good price. The breakfast is the best I've had during my stay in Iceland and I really appreciated that it was included in the fare. Convenient shared kitchen and clean shared bathrooms. The hot tub outside is great and worth trying! I wish I could have stayed longer.
The cottage was lovely, warm and cosy, a perfect bolt hole from the Icelandic weather. The location was brilliant - wonderful views across the valley to the mountain ranges beyond. The host was very friendly and welcoming, even making time to show us the sheep and lambs!
Inga and Siggi were wonderful and welcoming and the house was like a 5-star hotel private property!!! I have stayed at many high-end hotels and this house exceeded them. The owners were accessible and checked in on us frequently to make sure we had whatever we needed.
The hot tub was such a great way to end the day of exploring the Icelandic countryside. The kitchen had everything we needed. The fireplace was cozy. The beds were dreamy. Truly the best place I have ever stayed. I wish we could have spent more time.
Everything! The rooms were clean and well appointed with comfortable beds, a desk with convenient outlets nearby. The location was quiet and quite scenic. And the breakfast was a wonderful opportunity to experience a typical Icelandic breakfast.
In one word..EVERYTHING! The house is amazing. A beautiful place to stay in a great location for exploring Iceland. The hosts were brilliant and have set the highest standard! It will be hard to find another place to match Holt Villa!
Adorable. Really loved it there. Don’t mind people saying it’s dirty, it’s really not, it’s just a very typical summer cottage in the countryside - they are popular in Iceland so come here for an authentic summer (or winter) night :)
We had an excellent breakfast, lots of choices. We stayed here because we were doing the tour INTO THE GLACIER, and it was close to this hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We would recommend this hotel.
The Foss Hotel was fantastic for our needs and budget. The staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast delicious. The location fit right into our vacation plans. Thank you.
Gorgeous location and super helpful owner were the icing on top of a unique stay with views to the sky and wild Icelandic weather. I would highly recommend the property.
