There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more westerly one (the other is on the Golden Circle to the south). We visited Vidgelmir, the lava tube, and it was fabulous! It's cold inside so dress warmly. The guides were all geologists who specialize in this kind of formation and were knowledgeable about both geology and the history of the tube. Krauma geothermal baths and restaurant: the baths were expensive and we didn't go but the restaurant served great food (also expensive as is all food in Iceland).

Had a fun breakfast with the hostess/owner and other guests - chatting about our experiences and home countries. My room was charming and comfortable with farmhouse decor. Really appreciated the cluster of multiple bathrooms and showers for the guests. There is a hot tub on the balcony. Always enjoy seeing dogs on the premises.

Jacuzzi was very easy to use and worked very well, as well as everything in the cabin (kitchen, hot water, etc.). Amazing location for a quiet, resourceful stay, which was exactly what we were looking for. You need to rent a car if you're going to stay there, but if you do, it's a great place to stay and explore the western part of Iceland.

You can make a great meal in the kitchen and the relax outside looking at an incredible view with a glass of wine. The perfect place to unwind. Excellent blinds for bright summer nights. Lots of great hiking and natural attractions to see. Recommend checking out the tours organized by Hotel Husafell
