The hotel was really nice, as well as the staff and we had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. It is also quite nicely located near the sea with a nice view. If you are going around the Snaefellsnes peninsula, it is a great place to stay.

The rooms were "like new," and the family enjoyed the facility. Of the eight hotels on this trip, this was the best location for spotting the auroras!

All positive, location stunning (especially in snow storm we had!), guest house was as described and expected, although overall a little bit communal for us, but we had booked the en-suite family room so all good.
Beautiful views of the sea, especially sunrise. Great mountain views. It was uncharacteristically cold and windy so no hiking but trails exist. Easy access to the national park with black beaches, lighthouses, lava tubes and volcano views. Nothing open in winter, you'll have to drive to Arnarstapi (5 minutes) or 30 min around the peninsula for any food or fuel.

Great location to explore the peninsula and lots of walks...
Great location to explore the peninsula and lots of walks from Hellnar along the coast. Eating options are quite limited but the food at our hotel was excellent so we were happy to eat there each night.
The hotel was located conveniently at the halfway point of the Snæfellsness Peninsula. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, linen and towels as well as 2-in-1 body wash and shampoo provided. We took the breakfast option and the breakfast was awesome! They also have the option for a picnic take-out which is what we did so that we could eat a lunch later in the day. It's 2 sandwiches, 1 juice and 1 chocolate for $19.
The location is great. The town of Hellnar is little more than a hotel, these accommodations, an old church and access to a wonderful seaside trail that starts at a charming little cafe perfect for a post hike beer or soup and bread. If the weather cooperates you’ll have great views of the glacier out one window and ocean out the other.
The location was amazing, the place was clean, and it was super quiet in Hellnar. It's also walking distance to the "hotel" in Hellnar, and they have a very good restaurant.
Hellnar was a perfect base for us to do some day trips around the peninsula. It's also close to some of the popular attractions.
Nice, simple room. Comfortable bed. Small bathroom, but very clean. Place to hang clothes. Wonderful restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Very nice service! Easy check-in. Parking right in front of hotel. Lovely location with view of water and nice trail right behind hotel.
staff are very friendly. we were forced to stay one more night because roads are closed due to weather condition. we asked the staff a lot of questions and they are very helpful to address our concerns. hotel manger is also helpful on this matter. very appreciate.
The room was very spacious and had a very comfortable bed. The room had also a couch and a table which was very useful.
The hotel restaurant had a great view on the sea. The breakfast was rich and very good.
The dinners in the restaurant were good.
Great hotel close to the national park and many of the local walking trails. The rooms were spacious and modern. The breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant served quality but expensive meals (expensive for Australians at least).
The hotel is beautiful. It is clean and well decorated. The view was amazing! Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. Check in was easy. It was very quiet. The restaurant for breakfast was great. Overall, great place.
Hotel was perfect for our needs -- a quick night while waiting for family to fly into KEF. We had a last minute change adding an additional person that the hotel was able to accommodate. Very content with the hotel.
This location was conveniently located for where we wanted to be. also, glad they had an on-site restaurant as there are not many other options in this area of Iceland. Heated bathroom floor was very nice!
This place is located in a beautiful setting between the ocean and the mountains. The restaurant is lovely with nice food and great views straight over the water....as is the common sitting area.
