The hotel was really nice, as well as the staff and we had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. It is also quite nicely located near the sea with a nice view. If you are going around the Snaefellsnes peninsula, it is a great place to stay.

Beautiful views of the sea, especially sunrise. Great mountain views. It was uncharacteristically cold and windy so no hiking but trails exist. Easy access to the national park with black beaches, lighthouses, lava tubes and volcano views. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, linen and towels as well as 2-in-1 body wash and shampoo provided. We took the breakfast option and the breakfast was awesome! They also have the option for a picnic take-out which is what we did so that we could eat a lunch later in the day. It's 2 sandwiches, 1 juice and 1 chocolate for $19.ChristopherCanada

It's also walking distance to the "hotel" in Hellnar, and they have a very good restaurant. Hellnar was a perfect base for us to do some day trips around the peninsula. It's also close to some of the popular attractions.
