The Northern Comfort Inn, hotel in Dalvík

The Northern Comfort Inn is a self-catering establishment with free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom with shower in every room.

I love the free coffee and tea from this hotel. Nice friendly staff. The hotel sits in front of a lake. Boating and kayaking are free for guests but it was too cold for us. Free laundry service was definitely a great plus for our 18 day trip. We spent 2 nights here to go to Grímsey which was very convenient because it is a short 20 minutes drive to Dalvík to catch the ferry. Walking distance to the public pool and sauna. Beautiful Mountain View all around. The very best part was the free use of their professional kitchen. I was so happy to make some meals there!!! Great value and can’t wait to come back!!!

Staying at Vegamot Cottage was unforgettable experience. The owner - Bjorni is such a nic guy, who gave us more than accomodation - many recommendations, map with attractions, road tips made by him and so on. In case of cottage... there is nothing what we consider as a bad experience. Next the cottage is also hot tube, sauna, nature shower with geothermal water with constant 40degrees. Everything is including. Dalvik is such a beautiful harbor city, where I would like to move and stay there for rest of my life :-D

We had a real pleasant stay at Húsavakki Guesthouse. The way there was very nice, the road was paved and the view was spectacular. The guesthouse is located in a beautiful mountainous valley. Nearby the guesthouse you can find the oldest swimming pool in Iceland. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived. The guesthouse itself is very well facilitated. The beds are very comfortable (boxsprings), and the kitchen contains everything you need. The showers were great as well, with nice warm water. A real hidden gem!

The cottage was perfect and we were so happy with our stay in Dalvik. The cottages are just outside town which made exploring the valley and the town easy. The property is located with 360 views of the mountains, ocean, and village. We enjoyed the hottub while watching the summer sunset and birds, and it was so hard to leave the next morning. Lorenzo was a wonderful host and we hope to visit his cottages again!

Really nice wooden cabins with a bathroom. The owner Byarni (spelling ?) was very friendly and worked exceptionally hard at keeping his guests happy and informed us on the local attractions. They also own/manage a local restaurant that serves the best fish soup in Iceland.

The location is perfect to prepare for the trip to Grimsey. The room is clean. Shower is hot. The bed is comfy. This is typical Iceland. The decoration is a bit quirky with a lot of vintage stuff. Everything is more than a budget hostel.

No breakfast. Cottage had a private hot tub that was really nice. The setting/location was ideal (close to Dalvik in a really pleasant, serene area). Spacious and well-equipped, this was one of the best places we stayed in Iceland.
