Our room was quiet, overlooking a lawn with views of a wood. It was adequately furnished, but not luxurious. There was no noise transmission from other rooms or the corridor and no noise from the service area. Excellent !

Watership Down Inn, hotel in Sutton Scotney

Set in Whitchurch, 13 km from Highclere Castle, Watership Down Inn offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

What welcoming staff and so accommodating. When we arrived the kitchen wasn't open for lunch yet, but they took our order and served the food really quickly. Chips were delicious! They also checked us in a little earlier as we were on our way to a wedding. Breakfast was perfectly cooked. The rooms are all newly refurbished with courtesy lights in the bathroom and wardrobes. Clean, crisp sheets and towels. We were very impressed. If we are out that way again and need to stay over, we will certainly choose here. Lovely story about the Inn too.

It was a really lovely stay they could do with bigger cups or change the size the coffee produces in the machine as it overflowed over the top of the cups. The pool was a little small but nice and modern. Great area to stay between Sailsbury and Winchester. Would be helpful to have a little map of the hotel to give out to people as lots of directions are given to finding your room that you might forget them

To be honest we only stayed there because of a local festival, I have just re-booked for next year which say how happy we were with our stay. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast all I can say what a beautiful selection, spa and pool lovely. The grounds of the hotel beautiful. Norton Park Hotel, Spa & Manor House - Winchester is a great place to say.

Staff were majorly attentive and a real credit to this gem of a find. Scene restaurant beautiful Cooked food absolutely faultless. Please see other review where cleaning problems are mentioned. Very dusty, dirty, no toilet brush, definitely not within 4 star standard Every other aspect perfect. It’s a Shame this let them down as it reflects badly on the property.

Check in was very welcoming and very helpful.

Check in was very welcoming and very helpful. Room allocated: The room was very close to the Spa which was ideal for me to use the facilities. Unfortunately, the room was very tired with the towel rail hanging off the wall in the bathroom. The shower was clean but in areas covered in limescale which meant that around the bottom of the shower cubical and the plug hole had a pink tinge to it which was not that appealing. The room was quite large with a huge comfy bed together with a fridge, lockable safe with tea and coffee facilities with a large wardrobe with a fan, ironing board, iron and hair dryer. Dining experience - unfortunately you were not able to order room service which should have been made available to all guests. Spa - the shower lockers - 4 of them did not work. The pool area is quite large together with a steam room and sauna. Unfortunately there were so many people in the spa that I was unable to all of the facilities. For the money that I paid for a 2 night stay I did not get value for money as the room was not up to a standard and I was left feeling very disappointed.

A good hotel is where everything goes smoothly, a great one is where there is an issue and the staff leap into action and ensure that with a minimum of fuss and great communication things are put back on track. Top job! For me the location is ideal, I realize this may not be the case for all as it's a drive to any center, but as a base to work from or explore it's very good. The beds are comfortable, the shower powerful and I'd be happy with the bed linen in my own home!

Clean room, good firm beds and super friendly staff. Being close to services meant you just had to take the exit to reach the hotel and easy way out too. Nothing to complain about this place. I stayed for 1 night with family and it was ideal for that!

Exactly what you need from a stop-over hotel. Clean, really comfortable bed, and good value. Only one plug socket isn’t ideal for charging devices but for one night it’s not a problem. Friendly staff member on check in when I arrived.

The staff was absolutely wonderful. We were house hunting in the area and ended up needing to stay for a few weeks which is not common for this particular hotel and they did their best to help make us more comfortable.

Great hotel offering comfortable rooms and a great bed. Bathroom tiles and seals need cleaning. It’s fine to have tired fittings but cleanliness is important and Mould should be removed.

For what we paid it was what we expected. Warm, the double bed was ok, tea/coffee facility great. Enough towels. Not at all noisy considering where this hotel is situated.

The hotel itself was an amazing place, especially the manor house. If you actually opted to have the whole place for a party if guests would be truly an incredible stay.
