Thank you for the use of your lovely little holiday home. The apartment was nicely decorated, clean, cozy, & spacious. It was situated in a very peaceful, central location (only five minutes’ walk from the beach). It was also very good value for money considering the price of some of the other accommodation in the area. The decor was very stylish and there was also lots of really helpful local information in the binder. The self-check in was also very simple.

this lovely little village is only a 10 minute drive from Aldeburgh, which makes it perfect to stay for the night! After 2300 the whole village goes to sleep and it is lovely and silent! there are a few little shops and plenty of car parking! The food in the restaurant of the Bell hotel is divine!! We loved it!

It wasn't exactly run down, just that there wasn't much there. Not helped by the main pub being closed for renovation, but we did have a very good Indian meal at The Prince of Bengal, and a Chinese meal at another pub which was half pub, half restaurant. There is a good-sized Waitrose and a Tesco. Saxmundham is a good centre for getting to other places.

    There's really nothing here.

There's really nothing here. The Bell is fine but no attractions mean you are driving way out of town for any sightseeing etc. Even todays market only had 3 stalls.......well, 2 and a chap with some picture frames scattered on the road. Even the local Indian restnt was closed on a Tuesday night.

Nothing to like whatsoever a tired and dreary Town in need of a lick of paint with old tatty bunting still present, probably left over from the Coronation. I was very disappointed what are Council doing to give Saxmundham some kudos?? I wouldn’t rush back under any circumstances.

    A very quiet sleepy town.

A very quiet sleepy town. This can have advantages but it was almost 'dead' - several empty shops etc. I hoped for a bigger main square and open ground but there was none. Some fine buildings but not really a picturesque place. Handy though for Aldeburgh.

Saxmundham is a small place - very small.

Saxmundham is a small place - very small. We walked from one end of the high street to the other in about five minutes. It is OK as a base if you are visiting other places around, but there doesn't seem to be anything actually in Saxmundham other than a few shops (nothing very interesting) and a couple of supermarkets. The hotel seems to be the only place to eat if you don't want kebabs or fish and chips.

A really warm, clean and cosy cottage in a very convenient location in Saxmundham - easy to find with the host's clear directions and an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Suffolk coast and country. We really appreciated relaxing in the comfortable sitting room and also the well-equipped kitchen, as we had decided to eat in - although it is only a short walk from a good pub/restaurant at which we have eaten on previous visits to the town. A great place to stay!

Charming terrace house with a cottage feel. Modern kitchen and bathroom. Appreciated the upstairs loo as the bathroom is downstairs. Comfortable beds. Easy (ten minutes at the most) walking distance to town centre, train station, bus stops. Waitrose and Tesco in town centre. We visited Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge, Aldburgh, and Minsmere by public transport - used Community Transport for Minsmere. Would use this house again if we wanted a return visit to Saxmundham.

Lovely rural location but not too far away from Saxmundham, thoughtful welcome Basket on arrival, spacious and well presented accommodation, we actually spent all of our time using the garden and kitchen, at night playing card games around the kitchen table, so didn't actually use the amazing cinema size TV in the very comfortable looking lounge. Neighbours were friendly and welcoming too, had a great stay and would highly recommend

Off the A12, up a long track, 5 mins from Saxmundham: extremely convenient for Aldeburgh, Framlingham, Orford etc. Despite being just off the A12, no traffic noise & beautifully quiet & peaceful. Friendly & helpful hosts and the accommodation is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Very comfy bed and an area to sit outside. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Opening just 2 weeks ago we were welcomed with Christmas wishes. Recent renovation, though incomplete has been well done. Looking forward to the finished lodging and dining. Clearly this "rebirth" of the Bell Hotel will lead to it being the social center of Saxmundham. Well done Ashley and Team!
