St Austell itself is a busy industrial town but it is a good base for visiting many coastal fishing villages and nearby attractions such as Eden & Lost Gardens of Heligan. The interesting harbour village of Charlestown is a must see and Mevagissey is only 4 miles away.

Many interesting places to visit. Lovely coastline with quaint villages. Mevagissey, Fowey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden project are must sees! I shopped in St Austell itself. A good variety of shops, in interesting streets and lanes.

We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel. St Austel is not the best place to visit in Cornwall and is a little run down but there are promises that efforts are being made to improve its image and facilities.

It was easy to get around At Austell.
It was easy to get around At Austell. Lots of places to eat and drink. Lots of places to see, and day o get to by car or bus. Beach close by lots of walks near by and things to do The annexe at Hillside was outstanding and there was a lot of little extras in the annexe. Perfect host, very wellcoming. We would highly recommend this place .It is quiet there and it has every thing you need in the annexe.
Breakfast was exceptional - good variety on menu and well presented. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The location was convenient for walking into the town centre and the hotel made a good base for visiting attractions such as Charlestown, Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan as well as resorts of Mevagissy and the Padstow area. Our hosts were friendly, helpful and knowlegeable about the area
The suite was extensive with a huge bathroom. Rather a bizarre configuration because it comprised various parts of an old house, but very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially accommodating our having breakfast in a separate room as we weren't feeling terribly well. The grounds were lovely, too. A lot of thought and work has been put into this hotel.
We enjoyed our stay very much. the night we checked in there was even a live jazz performance at the pub which was perfect. the room is not very big but functional and they give you everything you need, very clean and recently renovated from what I could tell. bed was comfy (my partner usually has trouble with hotel pillows but slept well here).
The views are superb - better than any other hotel in the area inclufing The Carlyon Bay and the Pier House hotel in Charlestown. Visitors staying at the hotel during my whom I came into contact with, all seemed relaxed and in the main chose to come back for an evening meal when there were a lot of alternative restaurants of quality nearby.
Very friendly staff/owners and very relaxed
Boutique style without being ostentatious
Lovely grounds
Peaceful yet near many places to visit
Comfortable king size bed
Real treat to have a swimming pool and masseuse on hand
Fantastic breakfast
Excellent value especially if you call the hotel directly...
The room was too basic. Bed was uncomfortable.
The "full English" was poor with my poached egg leaving the water it was poached overy plate. The tomato had a lighter held over it to "grill" it.
The staff member who served us had bleach stains on his shirt.
Lovely spot poor hotel.
We loved the location of our Hotel. The Breakfast was excellent. We had a slight problem with our TV Aerial but that was quickly sorted out by the Hotel Manager. Every staff member was polite and courteous, excellent service we could not fault anything and would stay there again.
Good Town centre location, Car park very close by (Pay) Comfortable and clean. Close Wetherspoons pub, the only other pub worth visiting is the Western (West Hill) close to an ancient bridge. 5 minute walk to railway station. Ideal for those using public transport.
The White Hart was a lovely quaint hotel , grade 2 listed with character features.
conveniently places for the town centre.
individual rooms .
lovely little sitting room and bar area.
food was cooked beautifully and a good choice of food on the menu .
The hotel was quiet, peaceful and we had a good night sleep. The staff were lovely and accommodating. We had a small issue with our first room and they upgraded us free of charge within minutes. The grounds were lovely and the hotel room was spotless.
The room was lovely and clean with a nice view from the balcony. The bathroom was very nice with a nice waterfall shower and the location was perfect close to the eden project and to saint Austell.
clean, tidy & the couple who own it are lovely. the beds were super comfortable! amenities were fab. for a small hotel it was comfortably running alongside the Carlyon Bay hotel in its efforts!
