The suite was extensive with a huge bathroom. Rather a bizarre configuration because it comprised various parts of an old house, but very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially accommodating our having breakfast in a separate room as we weren't feeling terribly well. The grounds were lovely, too. A lot of thought and work has been put into this hotel.

St Austell is a great base to explore Cornwall. The town isn't fantastic, but it's 5 minutes from the Eden Project, also 5 minutes to Charlestown , an historic and interesting harbour, Mevagissey is very near, and it's near to several beaches.

the location was perfect for The Eden Project and the Lost Hardens of Heligan. We walked to Carlyon Bay for a beach day and found places to eat close by in Charlestown and Mevagissey. The hotel is stylish and welcoming with a choice of places to relax indoor and outdoors. Their cream tea and breakfasts were amazing! Also, there were lovely touches like a bag hung on our door every morning with homemade muffins for a pre breakfast treat.

The location was convenient for walking into the town centre and the hotel made a good base for visiting attractions such as Charlestown, Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan as well as resorts of Mevagissy and the Padstow area. The food is exceptional The manager is friendly and goes out of his way to help. The room and bathroom were both bigger than most hotel rooms. The curtains ( my pet hate). Actually closed properly and were blackout They had a really good menu for evening meals in the pub/restaurant which are just downstairs so no messing about with walking out in the cold

We loved the hotel for its good breakfast, simple but effective dinner options, and a lovely set of staff. In-house parking is near and very convenient. Hassle free check-in and check-out facilities. Strategically located to access key locations around Cornwall within a 30-50 min drive.
