Famous for its association with Robin Hood, Nottingham is in the very heart of England. The outlaw’s legend lives on, with many city streets and buildings named after him and his Merry Men. A Robin Hood statue sits at the foot of Nottingham Castle, on a small hill with historic pubs built into it. Also cut into the rock are visitable caves extending under the city.
The Old Market Square is the largest in the UK and becomes a city beach in the summer, with rides and a small pool. Permanent fixtures are the impressive Council House with its Exchange Arcade shops, and the several Nottingham hotels with parking in the surrounding area.
During the 19th century, Nottingham was an important lace-making centre and many Victorian warehouses and buildings remain in the Lace Market area. Neighbouring Hockley is home to the National Ice Centre and independent shops, while the biggest shopping centres are Broadmarsh and the Victoria Centre.
In the western suburbs, by Nottingham University, Wollaton Park surrounds an Elizabethan stately home, while east of Trent Bridge cricket ground is the National Water Sports Centre in Holme Pierrepont. Sherwood Forest, Robin’s stomping ground, is near Mansfield, while East Midlands Airport is south-west of Long Eaton.

Visiting Nottingham is a way to dive into real Middle England. It has a lot to feel a history, traditions, and people of England. Beautiful nature, and surrounding villages, informative and attractive museums (Museum of Justice and the Castle first of all), great Universities, full of students from all over the world, nice pubs with local beers and ales. All these create an unforgettable atmosphere of old England.

We went to rock city- affordable and great venue,
We did pit and pendulum, great gothic bar - prices mad reasonable compared to South. Proper cocktails.
Alchemist- great experience.
Loads of good shops,
Museum of curiosities,
Feel like the city is built on an underground history, so many basements and creepy places underground. Really good, and cheap compared to london/kent. Friendly people, users everywhere.

If you like big crowds( (on only a Thursday night!), and (for driving) very unhelpful road signing for getting to A60 North when exiting area around hotel, then Nottingham is fine. Obviously these "features" were not to our taste - nor is (apart from the 1930s Newton Building of the Trent University) the city centre "architecture"!
However, we will return, and no doubt use same hotel, when there is another potentially outstanding classical music concert at the Royal Hall,. Such was the object of our visit.
No hotel is perfect, and yours, despite our criticisms, provided a generally very reasonable/reasonably priced overnight stay, with its own covered and secure car park, and the great advantage of being so near to the Hall (and Playhouse)

Perfect city to observe real England.
Perfect city to observe real England. Fool of attractions: museum, Christmass place on main square. oldest pub in the England. A lot of affordable restorants having specific English atmosphere. We liked it very much.

There is a very good buffet restaurant on Upper Parliament Road offering tasty food. Nice tram service. Great bus network the city centre is very lively all day and night. The victoria shopping centre is a fine place to go to keep warm and dry when it's cold and wet outside.
The areas outside the city centre are dull and look very run down..most of the houses snd flats need a good coat of paint on the outside to brighten up the area. There is a terrible lack of palm trees in Nottingham. Nottingham needs hundreds of big palm trees.

We were going to a family party which also enabled us to meet up with the other side of the family so was good. Nottingham is a nice city with a welcoming feeling. We really only visit because we have family there I’m not sure we would visit if not.
The property was absolutely spotless! The bedroom was a decent enough size, I didn’t use the kitchen but it was massive. Although there were other people staying in the property, you didn’t really notice due to the size. Loved the private bathroom and the house was close enough to the centre to get an Uber which arrived to us within a few minutes. The host appears to live in the property and he was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this stay as a cheap alternative to saying in a hotel in the city centre.
The bathroom was good, the room was big enough. The location was excellent with a number of good cafés and pubs near by as well as easy access to the city centre by bus. The manager was friendly and knowledgeable, check in was efficient. It was possible to park my car on the property except for one day out of the week I was there. There was a small table and chair as well as a bedside table and more mains sockets than anyone could need in addition to two USB charging sockets.
The hotel is well placed between the M1 and Nottingham city centre, which was ideal for us. However, either a tram or bus ride was necessary to travel to the town centre. This was fine for us, but may be a problem for some other people. All the staff members at the hotel with whom we dealt were cheery and efficient. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal that we had there was also very good. The rooms were spacious and well equipped.
Hotel room was clean, bed was king size & comfortable tea & coffee was supplied lights in room where not bright as only fitted over bed & near the door a central light in room would have been better. Hotel breakfast excellent help yourself from cooked/cereal/continental/tea & coffee no evening meals available in restaurant hotel only has parking for small number of cars on site . Hotel 200yards from city centre
We loved everything about this hotel. The location was in a quiet street in the Centre, the room was spacious and very comfortable, four large windows gave us lovely light and great views over the churchyard.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, (thank you Maddie. )
We even had complimentary Prosecco in our room. Such a lovely surprise.
Great breakfast too.
Thoroughly recommend!
I’ve been to crowne plaza about 5 or 6 times. It’s always going to be my go to hotel whenever I come Nottingham. I always leave happy and completely satisfied. The location is great, there’s a lot around, the city centre is nearby and within walking distance so you don’t have to travel far. The bed was absolutely comfy and the breakfast was nice.
The staff were so helpful. Taylor on reception couldn't do enough for me she was so helpful and constantly smiling a real asset to the hotel.
Room was a great size and very comfortable bed.
Loved the style of the hotel which felt contemporary and cozy at the same time. A great location for the centre of town.
Great location. Comfortable and clean. The location was next to various shops and only 15 mins bus ride to the city centre. Everything we needed was available. I also apprecited Prim Stays for checking up on us to ensure we were good with everything. I would definately stay here again.
It was a late finish for me and I did not get to the hotel until after 11.30pm. some road noise from the M1 and the bed wasn't very comfortable. Staff were friendly, place was clean and modern.
The retro Raliegh pictures throughout the property are brilliant.
Lovely hotel which is located close to the city centre. Attentive and friendly staff. Lovely big room and comfortable bed. Had a meal in the bar area which was beautiful. Breakfast was superb, lots of choice, cereals, yoghurts fruit and of course full English.
It is a lovely secluded hotel split between the city centre and the park. The room is very comfortable and the access to the terrace would have been perfect if it was not raining (England). Would definitely recommend even though it is on the pricier side.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the owner Mr. Malkiat was amazing. He helped us to make our stay comfortable & he is a good person with better understanding. It's very easy to access City Centre.
It was great to have breakfast included with a choice of self serve dishes. The hotel is clean and very well positioned for the city centre. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Exceptionally clean and well presented hotel with all the facilities you could ask for. I needed secure parking and got exactly what I needed. Great location in the city centre.
