Cute studio cottage. Wood burner. Amazing views, hotel in Longhope

Featuring a garden, Cute studio cottage. Wood burner. Amazing views is set in Longhope, within 15 km of Wilton Castle.

The isolation just the birds , no traffic , ideal place, very private, owners were there if needed otherwise we were left to enjoy our stay. Cottage was cosy, kitchen facilities good. Lovely to be given some fresh milk, eggs etc for our breakfast. Will be staying there again for longer soon Thank you again Ken & Janie Giles

Clean , comfortable, friendly , good food, quiet rooms, country location, woodland walks, spacious, very good breakfast , other meals also delicious , plenty of parking , easy access to Forest and countryside , nice conversations with proprieters , liked the decor and furnishings of the room; all in all : Lovely ! There are walks and also ancient sites in the area which I would have liked more time to explore - Roman and more recent remains. Next time !

Longhope was a lovely little part of the countryside and an easy drive to lots of nearby places for delightful villages and woodland walks. You will want a car to get around further. Local walks are lovely but bring your wellies and a torch!

It was dated, there wasn’t a coffee machine in the room which had been advertised, only a kettle with tea, instant coffee, chocolate. The bed was comfortable and clean. Food very basic. Staff friendly. Shower/bathroom - shower curtain and dated but clean. Having checked an alternative stay whilst in Longhope, which was cheaper, I know I made the wrong choice. The photographs made it look much nicer than it was. I was disturbed (and a little frightened) by another guest knocking on my door late at night. He was a contractor who didn’t speak good English and wanted his food heating up 😳. I had to get out of bed and dressed again in case there was a serious issue. I felt the cursory apology I received from the hotel owner was, quite frankly, insufficient. Would suit business men/contractors- not lone women travellors.

The location is just perfect, very central and close to lots of places like Gloucester, forest of dean, Tewkesbury but still felt very secluded with magnificent views and very friendly people on the farm. Our sheheards hut was perfect and incredibly comfortable and a pleasure to stay in for the week. We loved the old cider shed too with our own private bar and lots of quirkiness inside! The bathroom also exceeded our expectations and was better than many hotels!

The bedroom was very clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room looked out over the grass and trees at the back of the hotel and was quiet. We had dinner in the evening in the restaurant. Steak pie and chips was good. My steak was a bit tough and the chips could have been browner and crispier, but overall the food was ok for the price and the portions were huge.

The staff were efficient and extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The evening meal was well cooked, presented and delicious. I had a most comfortable stay and the hotel is ideal for dog owners with perfect rooms and a footpath to beautiful countryside right next to it. A well run, thriving business that deserves to do well
