Me and my wife loved the location and peacefulness
The countryside around Keswick is beautiful. The views from Catbells are fantastic and it is a relatively easy climb, but VERY busy and almost a procession. The Pencil Museum was brilliant, really interesting and well done, we had a quiz sheet to complete, and it enhanced the experience. The town was busy, but not unpleasantly so, there are lots of independent shops and cafes. We also went to a play at the Theatre at the Lake, which is a lovely venue. The Keswick Museum is small but interesting.

The Alhambra cinema is a local gem. Every outdoor wear brand on the planet is there. Shopping area pedestrianised. Try Bryson's bakery and restaurant. Lots of parking (pay and display) but this was out of season. Close to Derwentwater..

Keswick is a beautiful town, friendly people and lots of different walks for varying abilities. If planning a trip, take the time to look at the various eateries in the town itself as they get fully booked quite quickly, well worth booking in advance of travelling. We had a delightful meal at the Royal Oak, but there are numerous other places. Special mention to the Dog and Gun, great atmosphere in there, humans sometimes outnumbered by the dogs!
Everything was superb. Jo is a great host and I couldn`t fault anything. Breakfast was really delicious. Jo was very welcoming and gave great customer service as we went on the Derwentwater boat trips and Jo kindly rang ahead to see if they were running. Room was really nice. Location only 10 min walk from the town centre and easily found an on street parking space just outside the guesthouse. Definitely recommend this guesthouse to others and will definitely stay again when next visiting Keswick.
Going with family I wanted a discount self catering option in or close to Keswick and the Derwentwater Hotel did not disappoint. Literally 2 miles from the center. 2 Bed apartment was more than spacious for 4 people with everything we needed for our short stay. And the location was spot on with beautiful grounds to walk around too. Staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough. Prices were reasonable in the restaurant and bar where we spent the evening relaxing.
The hotel and grounds were far more picturesque than we anticipated and it is perfectly situated in Keswick with an easy walk into town and to the start of most walks and Derwentwater. Our room was lovely and although not modern and up to date perfectly reflected the building and its surroundings and everything worked and was clean.
The restaurant for breakfast was great and there was more than enough options with a lovely view across the lawn.
It's very cosy and has plenty of free parking. The cottage is about a 10-minute walk from Keswick Town centre. All on one level, so there are no stairs to negotiate, making it ideal for those with mobility problems. There is a petrol station about 5 minutes walk away which has a well stocked shop if you need to get anything. There are lots of takeaways in Keswick and also lots of restaurants to eat out and avoid self-catering.
Beautiful little quaint B&B centrally located in Keswick only a few minutes walk into the town centre. Andy & Tracey are wonderful hosts and provided exceptional service. The room was comfortable, warm, clean and cosy with everything you need. The Breakfast was stunning, traditional Cumbrian Breakfast with fresh, quality produce. Cannot recommend enough! Great for couples and solo travellers and location is ideal!
Greta location just outside Keswick town centre. Far enough out to be peaceful and quiet but close enough for a short walk into town. We've stayed here a number of times and always enjoyed our time at the hotel. Excellent buffy style breakfast with enough choice to suit all. Comfortable rooms decorated to a decent standard. Friendly and attentive staff.
Lovely terraced house in the centre of Keswick, a short walk away from the shops and buses. The kitchen, dining area & lounge on the ground floor had everything we needed and were big enough for the seven of us. The bedrooms on the 1st & 2nd floors were clean and spacious, and it was nice that the double on the 2nd floor had an en-suite bathroom.
Cooked Breakfast perfectly sized for tackling the area as it left us feeling energised and ready to take on the day.
Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, though I will note for other guests, room #6 has an unusual en-suite set up! Location is truly excellent for walking into the town centre to enjoy the facilities.
Very friendly hosts, who made us feel welcome from the moment we signed in. The hotel/guest house is in a great location (with on street parking), with the Keswick town centre ~5 mins walk away. Property had all the basic amenities with a very homely feeling to it, with the host couple making it even better :)
Great location, very close to the Town centre. The apartment was very comfortable and clean and had everything you need. The bed was very comfortable. Simon was very attentive and came out straight away when there was a problem with a ceiling light. We will definitely stay again.
Great location for Keswick Town centre.
Quite street with parking outside the property
Fantastic breakfast with tea and toast
Property very cosy and well heated.
Lovely dining room and bedrooms very spacious
Would stop here again
Host very nice and can't do enough for you
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Breakfast was great. View overllooking woodlands and the lake in the distance was fantastic. Close to the town centre and close to the lakeside. All in all a great stay in Keswick.
Excellent location with Keswick town centre being a 20 min walk.
Craig and Claire were fantastic hosts ensuring my stay was perfect.
