I have never stayed somewhere where absolutely everything had been thought of, even down to orange squash in the fridge and the amazingly well stocked snack hamper basket, exceptional.

Really clean and tidy and very accommodating owners as I was later than originally planned. The room and facilities are really nice and everything was clean and comfy. The breakfast was great, especially the black pudding and scrambled eggs. Would definitely stop again when in the area.

Who knew the luxury that awaits up a wee close in Hawick, excellent amenities, sumptuous bedding and towels, very clean and comfortable, the hosts were very understanding when I had to cancel the first night due to a migraine, they ventilated the apartment before I arrived and gave us a later check out the following day

Excellent location right on the high street. Parking available in front of the building or there is a private car park behind too. We didn't struggle to park either day right outside the door.
Donna who runs the show is amazing, really chatty and friendly and even answered our random questions by text in the evenings.
Breakfast was good too - all cooked to order you can either decide in the morning what you want or you can text her the night before so it's ready for you. There were also cereals and homemade muffins.
The room itself was nice, bed was comfy (although the pillow was really hard and no option of a softer one that we could find).
We'd stay again when next in the area. Thanks Donna :)

A wonderful town with so much history and things and places to see. Hawick is very hilly but okay to get around if you take your time as I did.
We ate in the Locanda Romana restaurant, it was wonderful. The host/owner was very friendly and food very tasty.

This apartment is all luxury.
This apartment is all luxury. It was such a pleasure to stay in. Very comfortable beds, ours even with a pop up TV in it. All the appliances were new and amazing. There was a basket of treats for us to use as well. I wished we’d booked to stay for longer than just one night.

It is a rather gritty town.
It is a rather gritty town. Has been quite industrial but has some lovely buildings and the river area is being upgraded with defence walls against flooding. There are a few nice restaurants in the town especially an Italian by the river Santa Marina. There is a fantastic park to explore which has a cafe and childrens play area and great for dogs with a stream to play in. The town has Cashmere outlet shops and a whisky distillery. It is noted for rugby. It is close to beautiful countryside and places such as Melrose, Selkirk and Peebles are not far away, plus the coast about an hour away where thete are stunning beaches

Great location for visiting the Borders Area, and whichever route you took out of the town you were quickly into countryside. Only slight drawback many restaurants only open Thursday - Sunday. Had to travel out of Hawick on Monday to get an evening meal and on Tuesday and Wednesday fairly limited choice, unfortunately sign of the times perhaps.
Other that town had good facilities and a nice park with a good coffee house and eatery in the daytime.

Hawick is a border town built on ex council housing, the surrounding areas and history but if you want to go anywhere then travel north. Drugs truency and mason art are Hawick. Do not go in the winter other to see family which I did. Run down and bleak in the winter but if you want riding and recreation in the summer, it’s for you. Be warned you can get cut off in the winter.

Always love spending time in Hawick.
Always love spending time in Hawick. Such a friendly town with some interesting shops and a great selection of knitwear. The park is second to none! Beautifully kept and so many different areas of interest. Great for exercising or a leisurely stroll. Super cafe for a pit stop along the way.
The Mansfield House Hotel is by far the best Hotel in Hawick. I have stayed here many times through work and have entertained clients who have equally enjoyed their stay. I have stayed in the Tower Room which has a great view and I have stayed in the basement rooms and both are as comfy and accommodating as each other. The Staff are more than accommodating and the food is great along with a fully stacked bar. I am booking again for next week and am looking forward to my stay.
Absolutely everything! The owners are personable and lovely to talk with . The room and grounds were amazing to say the least and the two dogs Mac and Lily were an added bonus . The castle was literally 5 minutes from the center of Hawick where all our group was meeting so the location was convenient. Breakfast was wonderful and I loved the variety of choices . The whole experience was just amazing ! We will be back !
Beautiful hotel, loved all the original windows, shutters & flooring, loved that from the outside it just looked like a normal doorway, our room & bathroom was gorgeous, so was the breakfast room, both beautifully decorated and immaculate, we loved the jukebox! Donna is the perfect host, extremely helpful, friendly and cooks a great breakfast, we will definitely stay there the next time we visit hawick. Thankyou!
Carol and David were very welcoming and accommodating. The location was remote and provided the ambiance of the Scottish borders as i had hoped with the sheep out front and options for short brisk walks. Breakfast was excellent--a wide selection of choices made all members of my family happy!! Carol's omelettes were delicious! Our rooms were cozy yet spacious. Hoping to return again in the near future.
This small hotel was ideally situated for visiting Hawick close to the X95 bus stop, town shops and supermarket . The owners could not have been more welcoming . Clean bright and airy room .
Slightly disappointed in the breakfast but that’s because everyone told me a Scottish Breakfast was second to none , it was just okay .
I would very happily recommend this hotel .
The lady running the Hotel was very friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome and "at home" in the hotel.
The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. The en suite toilet and shower was spacious and clean.
I had an excellent night's sleep. The cooked breakfast in the morning was excellent. It set me up for the rest of the day.
I felt sorry I was not staying longer.
This property was indeed very spacious and stylish! The owner, Matt was easy to communicate with and provided great beds, bedding, and “extras” such as coffee, tea, milk, and a Welcoming Basket. My husband is originally from Hawick so being centrally located behind the High St. was perfect for accessing restaurants, etc. Highly recommend! Thank you!
It was a good value clean room in a very convenient spot in Hawick. The owner was very friendly and helpful and provided a very varied breakfast the next morning. We were walking the Borders Abbeys Way and there was no problem us arriving with rucksacks, boots etc. The bathroom was very fresh and had a very big bath with shower.
Great location, right in the town centre. Great communication from host. Had a homely feel and if I was to ever stay in Hawick again I would certainly stay here.
There was some lovely touches I.e shower gels, soaps, board games, coffee and even a little bottle of wine and chocolate on arrival. Thank you Maggie :)
Communication, friendly owners. Great garden, dog loved it. Very clean, COVID-19 cleaning top notch. Comfy beds and bed linen. Walks on the doorstep. Hawick a short drive away and enough shops to keep my older teen happy. Great park which we took advantage of with picnic when weather allowed.
Very clean & comfortable flat with a great view across Hawick, also the kitchen was very well equipped with a lovely extra touch of a basket of goodies to help yourself. Parking just outside on street. Would highly recommend if in or around this pretty borders area.
friendly, beautiful, perfect location for our visit, lots of interesting history to the building, quite location on edge of Hawick but only 10 minute walk to the town centre. my 11yr old son was made to feel very welcome which isn’t always the case in hotels.
This guest house was lovely. The room is large and has two very comfortable chairs. This is the best bed we have slept in over the course of this 3 week vacation. It is quiet, and I slept like a contented baby! The town of Hawick is very charming, also.
