I could definitely recommend both The Gables Hotel & The Gretna Hall Hotel, although I only actually stayed in The Gables Hotel, but had food in both. The wedding reception was held in the Gretna Hall Hotel & the main meal was amazing.
Some wedding guests stayed further afield and didn’t sleep properly being near a noisy motorway.
The Blacksmiths was well worth seeing & it has an interesting history. Plenty of parking at the rear of the buildings.

Rooms clean , a little small . Windows don’t keep motorway noise out .Complained about noise in room at check out , they seemed not too care . Work being carried out on floor above early in the morning , drilling and banging . These rooms should not be used , wasnt warned about this . Very poor , Didn’t sleep at all well . Staff very friendly and attentive except on check out . Personally wouldn’t stay again

We came to Gretna to visit the outlet village and blacksmith's shop. We only came for an overnight stay and were able to do all that we wanted in that time. It is a lovely village surrounded by beautiful countryside. We were very pleased with our visit.
This property was perfect location for the wedding we were attending opposite at Gretna Hall Hotel- that was why we booked the property. we were so pleasantly surprised that our hosts Helen and Stephen were absolutely lovely! we loved chatting to them- they made us feel so welcome and were accommodating to all our requests.
The room was perfect for what we needed and breakfast in the morning was delicious!
We couldn’t have asked for a better stay for what we were expecting to just be an easy option!
Breakfast was the best part of the stay. The photos of the rooms in the hotel are misleading bare wires next to bathroom sink mold in bathtub and on bathroom celling wallpaper starting to peel of the walls bathroom outer door handle hanging of door base of the bed broken rips in arm chair so to sum up didnt sleep well and was unable to shower in the morning due to the condition of the bathroom. I have took photos of room we are very disappointed
Despite being in a Motorway Services are, the hotel was quiet. The bed was very comfortble and we had a good nights sleep.
The Television was not working and the receptionaist went out of her way to try and offer us a change of room. We had been travelling along time and didnt want to change so she offered us some water and snacks as recompense. We thought her customer skills excellent.
We stayed 1 night on our way to moray and then on our way back. This was booked last year but had to be cancelled because of lockdown, but the owner kepted us updated all the time, and rebooked our stay for now. Very friendly and helpfull would recommend this hotel we will certainly use again when we visit scotland again. Breakfast is very good rooms well stocked and comfortable
All staff, bar, restaurant, etc were fantastic. Although it was very busy with weddings they were smiling and helpful. The bar, restaurant areas were very modern and to a good standard but our room the furniture was old and tired but clean. The gardens and history of the hotel were lovely. Plenty of parking and very close to the Gretna Green village. Breakfast was good.
10/10, Carolyn is the best host i've ever met. We had plenty of requests/questions and She just fullfilled all our wishes. Highly recommended, very friendly cottage, and Gretna Green is a unique place to get merried. The room is perfectly clean, you have all what you need. Breakfast you can order in advance according to your taste.
The rooms were big and comfortable. Nice was the possibility to have a drink outside in the Garden or in front of the Hotel. Everything was very clean. Funny was the location; just on the other side of the Gretna Green village, where severl weddings took place that afternoon.
The property was in a quiet area off the motorway. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good.
It’s a destination for weddings and it was enjoyable to see a few, complete with bagpiper, while we were there.
Overall, the property appears to be dated.
It is good value for money. The cooked breakfast is really good and you can choose what you want as part of your meal. It is located very close to the two larger hotels in the area which facilitate weddings at a much cheaper cost.
Lovely hotel, staff all very freindly. Room had everything we needed. They even put a tiny fridge in there for my medication. Very close to Gretna Green. Beautiful grounds and a lovely little church. Very quirky.
We like to stay in this hotel when travelling to the north of Scotland.
It is comfortable for a night's stay, quiet, comfy bed, it's located at the services so there are take-away options nearby.
The hotel was the perfect stopover for our trip to the North of Scotland. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were fantastic, so friendly and efficient!
