Returning after attending college here 40 years ago it was wonderful to see the overall charm hadn’t changed, the period buildings, the quirky “yards” and churches, pubs and laneways means Farnham is still a beautiful place to visit. Plenty to investigate.
Shops have changed or updated but the character still invites a thorough walk around town.
Further afield delivers the pleasures of rural Surrey, Farnham and the environs, are in my opinion well worth a visit.

Beautiful forest, quiet lanes with wonderful views.
Beautiful forest, quiet lanes with wonderful views. Small village, a slow pace of life, just what I needed after a hard working week. Farnham recharged my batteries and I would love to come back again soon. I expect the lovely sunny warm weather helped in this idyllic place, but I cannot imagine it ever looking gloomy! We stayed in the Frensham Pond Hotel, just gorgeous, but we ventured out to eat. We found 3 pubs all pretty close (within a 2 minute drive of each other) all serving food. Our lunches were absolutely spot on, and with lovely gardens to enjoy them in. Like everywhere these days, look out for the pot holes!

Lovely town, we were here as I was attending an amazing Thai cookery course close by, my husband dropped me off and enjoyed a morning at the Hogshead Brewery this time, previously took the steam railway! Lovely town atmosphere and lovely local pubs!
Loved this hotel! The room we had was described as a Small Double and I was a bit worried that it might be really small but it was lovely and plenty big enough for us. The shower room was very spacious. I enjoyed having the fancy coffee sachets and little chocolates in the room as well as the sloe gin! We had both breakfast and dinner and both were exceptional. The dining area is cosy and I like that you can see into the kitchen. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. All in all, a fabulous stay in every way. We will be back.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and plenty of it and pretty good value, the swimming pool and jacuzzi area was clean and nicely done out ,although the towels given to us were quite old.The hotel was quiet, relaxing and not crowded. The various seating areas inside and out of the building where you could enjoy sitting to eat and drink were clean and comfortable. We were there with a group and were able to be in rooms close together. The hotel was easy to locate and had close access to Guildford and other areas of interest.
The hotel room was spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed and much larger than we were expecting. The air con was invaluable and so quiet - very impressed. The little extras in the room were lovely and made the stay feel even more special. We had both dinner and breakfast. The food was delicious! All members of staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed as we were visiting friends; we will definitely use this hotel as a base in the future when in the area.
This is the first time that i have used this chain but it wont be my last.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Country Inn, my room was lovely and bright with unique touches e.g a range of coffee in a tea bag format which i love. The bad was very comfortable and my shower was lovely. The food in the restaurant was fantastic with a great selection to chose from. I will return next time i am in the area and will try others under this brand.
We didn't have breakfast as we are not breakfast people . The receptionists was very helpful and pleasant.
I left my suit behind we were half way home when I realised I had left it. Called hotel and receptionist
said she would go and retrieve it from room we were in. We returned to collect it.On return she presented
my suit to me with a smile. It is a hotel we would return to if in this area. Very Good.
Booking was room only. There was no dining area or bar area open which was a shame, but breakfast was delivered to each individual room. Location was excellent for central Farnham. Good tea and coffee selection in room. Very comfortable bed and black out curtains. Everything spotless.
Across the street from a lovely pub, and short walk to beautiful Churt Common. Cozy, and clean with very friendly and accommodating hosts. Well stocked kitchen with everything we needed to call it home away from home. Highly recommend
The staff were friendly, my room was comfortable & the breakfast buffet was fresh, well stocked & delicious. The location of the hotel was perfect for attending a wedding at Farnham Castle & also for visiting the local shops.
This felt like a luxury hotel… it was beautiful from the long, tree-tunnel drive to the exquisite landscaping. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was classy and spacious. I can’t praise this enough.
Beautiful hotel with cosy bar and lounge areas that looked lovely with the Christmas decorations. Rooms were comfy and the most of all the staff were all so friendly & helpful.
