We are regulars and when I booked our stay, our favourite room was unavailable. However, on arrival we discovered that they had shuffled things around as they knew our preference.
In the center of Fareham with easy access to the M27 motorway, this 18th-century coaching inn offers spacious, classic rooms with private bathrooms. Its bar features real ales and leather sofas.

My go to place when visiting clients in the Fareham area. I've been staying here many times over the past 8 years. Always comfortable.
Conveniently located in Fareham, between Southampton and Portsmouth, the hotel is an ideal base for easy access to the commercial business parks situated along highway M27, as well as the numerous...

Very friendly, helpful staff. Convenient location.
Providing a garden, Kiln Cottage offers accommodations in Fareham. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Outdoor dining is also possible at the vacation home.
Strange. The town had all the shops and amenities, and particularly coffee shops, pubs and food outlets, but the town was quiet throughout all of 2 weekdays. Its a nice enough place but seemed deserted, even inside the shopping centre.
Waterstones book store seemed to have a very different range of books on British/Foreign history than its other locations, and I could have stayed there for hours. Fareham Library is also well equipped with reference material on local history. Though much of the town has been rebuilt or had new facades, and its past is vanishing.
Boy, that train station is a long walk away from the town centre !
Would recommend the Golden Lion for food/drink and conversation.

Fareham is a lovely old unspoilt example of georgian houses and buildings, interlaced with newer builds along the high street. It has a lovely atmosphere and is well worth a visit, as you can easily drive down to the local historic dockyards and go to the only Hovercraft museum in the world.

Fareham has plenty of shops, cheap pubs and eateries.
Fareham has plenty of shops, cheap pubs and eateries. It's an ideal situation for us to stay as we have family in Fareham, Hamble Le Rice and Hayling Island. Wickham is a lovely village just 10 minutes drive away and a bus runs there from Fareham. Wickham has great parking and lovely shops and eateries, would recommend a visit.

Like most small towns Fareham has suffered a little over the years with some of the bigger shops now gone and that has had a knock of effect. I used to live in Fareham until I retired some 7 years ago but do get back from time to time .it’s location makes it ideal as an access point to Southampton, Portsmouth and the south coast and the New forest.

Great situation near shops and public transport.
Great situation near shops and public transport. Hotel and restaurant staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals I had very generous portions and well cooked.
Couldn't get WiFi which was restricting and difficult to contact people, although lady in Reception tried to help. No lift to the higher floors and no person available to help with luggage.

A pity that the wedding guests filled up lounge area.
A pity that the wedding guests filled up lounge area. So nowhere’s to sit
Also lots of little children running about and screaming without supervision whilst eating our meal
Very off putting
Restaurant staff said happens regularly and disturbs diners
Perfect in every respect
We stayed for one night visiting our daughter at university - close to everywhere in a lovely peaceful location yet only 20mins from Southampton
The room was comfortable enough to accommodate 2 teenagers and a dog - comfy bed
Breakfast was lovely - well organised friendly staff
Had a nice hour in the pool
All facilities clean and COVID procedures in place
We felt safe
Nice walks around the grounds of hotel for dogs
First time at hotel but will return
Thank you New Place will be recommending you
Location is great with Whitely Village down the road and close to Southampton and Portsmouth.
Plenty of parking.
Good size room, lovely big, comfy bed and fab shower.
Good amount of storage for clothes etc and nice to have an iron and board in the room.
Great size telly, good amount of sockets and USB Ports around the room.
Good controls for adjusting the temperature of the room, which are easy to use.
Free WiFi, that worked well.
Hotel was quiet and we slept well.
Breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold food. We were given table service and the staff were friendly. The children loved the use of the pool which is a very good size and it was clean. The spa facilities are lovely too. The children loved the bunk beds and the bonus was their very own gowns ‘very important little people’. The location of the hotel is excellent, with amenities on your doorstep and both Southampton and Portsmouth less than half an hour away.
The hotel is in a great location with close by town centre and links to bus and rail. My single room was everything I required for my four night stay. The full English breakfast was perfect with everything cooked fresh. The outstanding point with my stay was the staff. Everyone I met and chatted to were really warm and friendly and local too. I'll be going back the next time I visit Fareham that's for sure.
The service I received prior to arriving at the hotel was exemplary. I was contacted by a member of staff to organise dinner and breakfast reservations. This same member of staff kept going above and beyond with any and all queries I sent them.
The hotel itself is lovely and very well facilitated. Some of my party used the spa and commented about how nice it was. We also had dinner there which was wonderful
The staff were very polite and welcoming. We had a cracking english breakfast which is included in the price and parking was free. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Good value for money for 3 people. (£95). Worth considering as an overnight stop when catching the ferry from Portsmouth, it's only about 10 minutes along the M27 to get there.
Location is ideal base for Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport, and Lee on Solent
Property is in a very quiet area and is ideal for dog owners and near water
Dee is an ideal host and will go out of her way to make your stay memorable
The large outdoor Pagoda is an added bonus after a busy day relaxing with a beer or glass of wine and a good book
Well situated in the centre of Fareham with a large free carpark to the rear. Room was big for the 4 of us, and there were proper beds for the children which was good for teenage boys. Food was good in terms of variety and taste. Was quiet in the hotel considering it's above a pub. Would stay again if in the area.
Food was excellent both dinner and breakfast, staff were very friendly and helpful, is a lovely Hotel full of character, will stay there when I go to Southampton again, and have recommended it to family and friends.
Room was lovely and clean looks as though it had recently been decorated.
Booked this Hotel as we were going on a cruise from Southampton Docks. Room and service very good. We had an evening meal and the food was very nice and tasty. Breakfast was excellent. Full English and all the trimmings. Would recommend this hotel and would definitely use again.
Small double was what it said it would be. Basic but clean warm and comfortable. Good value for the price. Location of the hotel is great. Walking distance straight into the town but as the accommodation is to the rear it was quite quiet. Free parking was good.
Nice little hotel. Very friendly staff..
Comfy bed and good shower... That's all I really wanted..
Breakfast was fine... No complaints.
Convenient for M27 and Fareham/Gosport..
We will use it again next time we visit relatives in the area.
The flat was lovely. Everything you could need for a short stay and better than a b & b as you have cooking facilities. All immaculately clean and fairly new modern building. Central site in Fareham town within easy reach of everything.
Very nice sized apartment in a good location for Fareham Rail Station and town centre. Very helpful pre-visit instructions from the owners. I only stayed for 2 nights but the flat is well equipped for a longer stay.
An absolute classic full English breakfast, I cannot remember the last time I have eaten such a wonderful breakfast.
The staff are an absolute credit to the Hotel. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.
