The hotel was very cold, including corridors and public areas. There was a fireplace with plenty of wood, but nobody had made a fire, which would have been very welcome!! We stayed in a country manor house completely surrounded by fields and public pathways. Great location for those who like to explore the countryside. We did not make it into town, but driving through it looked lovely and wish we could have stayed longer to explore more of Dorking. Would go back again. We had meals in Wotton Hatch Pub, and Abinger Hatch Pub - delicious food and very friendly staff. Both beautiful country pubs and well worth a visit.

Lovely small hotel. The room was small but perfectly formed with everything we needed, breakfast was lovely and free parking. Even a pool for the brave. The grouds were lovely and very well maintained,

He helped us by calling the train company, because we wanted to visit London and there were strikes. We stayed in a converted stable, and so we saw a lot of the horses and the other people who took care of the horses, who were all very kind. Especially our teenage girls loved that! The beds were fine, shower and kitchen were good, everything was taken care of. Also it is in a beautiful area, where you can make great walks!

It's situated in a quiet, green area, yet very close to the main street and shops (Sainsbury's, Waitrose, book store, nice cafés). The accommodation is very well equipped, and James is an excellent host, always eager to offer assistance or suggestions for activities in the area. Walkers and runners will love it here, there are great routes literally 'on your doorstep'. My room was massive and very comfortable. Breakfast was great and served until 9:30 in the morning which I appreciated after a light jog up to Ranmore and back! The views from the restaurant area were stunning on a lovely clear November morning. Yes - as you may have gathered, I loved my one night stay!

The location is central and close to everything (albeit on a slightly rushing street), and the rooms are pretty nicely done up for such an old place. The towels and bathrobe are giant and fluffy, and everything was very clean. The range of breakfast options was really nice. Service in the restaurant was a bit sluggish when we came in for desserts one night, but they were worth waiting for.

Great walk/hike just behind the hotel, endless fun for the kids. It’s very out of the way, therefor we needed to take a taxi from Gatwick. Well maintained property.
