Words really fail me to explain how special this property was. The attention to every single detail was exquisite. I’m a professional organizer. My business is details. I’ve never seen anything like this. Everything - even the lights on the floor that automatically come on when you walk into the bathroom - was planned perfectly when this former convent was remodeled to make a sacred space for all its guests. There was even framed sheet music in the halls to, I assume, pay homage to the beautiful music that must’ve once graced the hallways.
The staff was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was like something out of a Veranda magazine spread. The breakfast was delicious.
At every turn in the hotel and the room itself, we were met with a delightful and unexpected experience.
Who puts this much thought into a public space? The Cookie Jar does. You made our once-in-a-lifetime trip unforgettable.
We would like to introduce you to The Tempus at Charlton Hall Estate, a decadent place where colors collide, and imaginations are captured.

Alnwick is a good place to visit and is an ideal base for exploring the area.
There are a number of good restaurants and cafes.
Alnwick Castle is worth a visit, but don’t bother with Alnwick Gardens as they are small and over priced.

This was our first visit to Alnwick and we've fallen in love! There were so many intriguing and characterful shops to explore and we were spoilt for choice for lovely places to eat. We would whole heartedly recommend eating a SherKhan - some of the best curry we've ever had - and also The Adam and Eve.
Dirty Bottles is a fab venue, great for a drink but would skip the very averge food next time.

The castle and gardens were closed but we have been in them before and so we were not disappointed. A walk along the river at the back of the castle is very nice and a good test of your waterproofs and footwear. Hulne park has good walks. Alnwick is a beautiful town. Berwick and Morpeth nearby, complement the area.

Alnwick is an excellent centre for visiting many locations in Northumberland, with lots of scenic coastline and castles on your doorstep. There are plenty of excellent places to eat however if you are going to stay over a weekend I would recommend booking a table in advance as they all get very busy. If you want to book the treetop restaurant book months on advance to avoid disappointment. Alnwick castle and gardens are a must if you have never visited before.

Both The Garden and Castle were well worth the ticket price.
Informative tours are available with very knowledgeable staff. Even if you don't take a tour of the castle and wander around yourself, staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have about the history of the castle and gardens . A fantastic place to visit.
We popped out for a walk around the town mid visit and had no issue getting back in to the castle afterwards.
the location is great , nice and peaceful and safe knowing you have Jen and Shaun on site if needed without the noise of a camp site , your own shower ,toilet , tv , internet , a outdoor place to chill and a fire pit
the pod is brand new and clean with a comfy bed and microwave and kettle to make snacks , the pod is in the grounds of a private estate with another lodge nearby but it is very private
It was lovely having the chickens and the dogs around
Jen and Shaun are lovely hosts
What a lovely place we didn't know this hotel we just liked the name but its great, really homely and friendly, There is a mild Harry potter theme to the place being near to Alnwick Castle, in fact is almost next door to it. From the outside it just looks like a terraced building on the street but inside it's had a lot of money spent on the rooms and they are fab. We took advantage of cocktail hour and had a meal there too which was top class, Highly recommended.
The hotel is conveniently placed with only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Alnwick, all the staff are friendly and professional. The room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped, the breakfast was amazing having a choice of continental, hot food or both. The bar area and restaurant are well decorated and the patio area will be an asset to the property in the summer. I would definitely recommend the Oaks Hotel to anyone visiting the area.
Lovely spacious flat, quirky interesting decore which we loved, well equipped and very homely plus pool table and games a great addition. Fantastic location lots of cafes restaurants literally on the door stop, did a bit of Xmas shopping in the gift shops, castle 5 mins walk, lovely wild unspoilt beaches nearby. So much better value than the hotels. Thanks for the chocolates too much appreciated after a very long drive from London.
Great location next to Alnwick Castle a three minute walk from the very centre of Alnwick. We had a nice view over fields from our room. The breakfast was excellent and featured a range of local produce. The staff were very helpful. We had an excellent night’s sleep on a comfortable bed. The shower in our bathroom was great - excellent water pressure. Parking was readily available nearby.
The hostel was very good; the beds were very comfortable, there was free parking only a minute's walk away, and it was in a great location. Alnwick itself is a great little town, and there are a ton of castles nearby to visit (I personally thought Alnwick Castle was the least cool of the four we visited, but that's just me). All in all, I'm happy we stayed here.
The location of the accommodation was excellent: very central in town and very near the bus stops. Alnwick is a very beautiful town with lots of attractions including a lovely castle. It is a great town to be based to explore the surrounding area/s. The guest house is also next door to an excellent bar :). There was a kettle and tea and coffee in the room.
That is the right place if you want to stay in a 'real' english house. It is so charming and original and the hosts are very very polite. Don't miss the superb breakfast!
And the sights are all very close: the 'Northumberland National Park', or nice towns like Alnwick etc., and also the coast is not too far away.
This is the most tranquil place to stay.... katryna and Tom are great hosts and always on hand to help .... Great facilities...super close to Alnwick and some great walking nearby. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place !!! Bell tents are a must 👌
Very Clean. Cozy, Updated/new bathroom. Great location. Host responds very quickly. They helped us with luggage storage situation. Loved how they thought of everything for us. Loved the welcome binder that told us about the amazing book shop nearby.
Proximity to Alnwick castle and gardens.
Not having to use the car once parked at the hotel.
Historical links with the ship “Olympic” and the beautiful dining room which came from that vessel.
Good breakfast
I can not say enough about this property! Everything was amazing! If you are looking for a place to stay, this is it. James was amazing from the time I booked to the time I checked out.
