As the financial capital of Switzerland and headquarters of several large companies including FIFA, there’s a good chance that if you’re in Zurich you’re here on business. But that doesn’t mean this city doesn’t have a playful side.
Known for its cleanliness and fresh air, it comes as no surprise that the luxurious ski resorts of the Alps are within an easy distance of both the city and Zurich Airport, which is only a 12 minute drive from the city centre.
The centre is also a fast-growing cultural hub, packed with art galleries and museums. The Swiss history museum is called
Landesmuseum and the Kunsthaus houses some of the most important pieces of art owned by Switzerland. For an interesting combination of art and culture, check out the Fraumünster, a gothic church with window paintings attributed to Marc Chagall.
During the day, the Lindenhof hill offers a stunning vista of the heart of the old town, Niederdorf, which is filled with shopping avenues, winding alleyways and restaurants. At night the many club doors open offering a range of live music and DJs.

There is a nice price for transportation, you can go on the border of Swiss and Germany only for 27 CHF. And at that price is travelling for a whole day so you can take a cruise on the lake with a beautiful view. With one tram you can go on the hill above Curych and see the surroundings. In Curych, there are many fountains, where you can fill your bottle with drinkable water.
Beautiful nature walks (lake, Botanical Gardens), wonderful galleries (Helmhaus) and many cultural attractions, as well as picturesque old town. Vegan bakery/patisserie was a plus! Friendly people and clean environment. Good arthouse cinemas.

Totally loved Zurich. It is a charming city.
Totally loved Zurich. It is a charming city. So clean, feels very safe, lots of options for dining and shopping, being on the water and simply walking around. We took advantage of doing a tour to Jungfraujoch. Zurich is a great jumping off place to also visit other cities and go into the alps.

We had a day in Zurich in between our flights out to India. Its a beautiful city but very expensive for eating and drinking. Even though January it was cold but crisp and we enjoyed walking along the lake seeing birdlife and beautiful scenery. We just love walking around the streets and coming across little cafes along the river leading up to the lake. If you're rich the Bahnhoffstrasse is full of fascinating shops. We love the Niederdorf street (old town) across the bridge from the Railway station where there is a variety of places to eat and we enjoy an authentic place like the Rheinfelder Bierhaus where the famous Laberli and Rosti is served at a reasonable price - for Switzerland anyway. (calf or beef liver with hash brown type potatoes)

A beautiful city to walk around, or take the plentiful public transport (trams and busses) which is cheaper to use than London transport!
The Lindt Home of Chocolate is worth a visit - just a short (20 min) boat ride down Lake Zurich is a good way to get there, else local bus.
This is undoubtedly not just the city for chocolate but also for fashionable clothes. However, eating out and shopping seems expensive compared to UK - more like the most expensive central London prices. You wonder how local Swiss inhabitants afford this on salaries similar to ours, until you learn that they pay much less income tax than we do!

Nice place to visit.
Nice place to visit. From Zurich, you may visit a few places outside and near Zurich. Is a busy town and some places are not open in the winter period. Try to book your stay near Trams station and make your trip easy. If you are staying in Switzerland only, fully recommend you purchase the Full Swiss Travel Pass it is convenient and saves cost especially if you plan to hop in most of the towns in Switzerland.
Small and friendly hotel in a great location in a residential area of Zürich.
Tram stop 50 metres away with a choice of 2 trams to the city centre. Easy to reach the railway station, old town, and the lake.
Quiet room, well equipped, with a comfy bed and modern shower room.
Very good breakfast buffet (= good selection and well stocked).
Choice of restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
There is a lift, and a beautiful courtyard garden!!
No aircon, but a fan was provided in my room.
I would definitely stay here again!
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a decent size, plenty of storage space and beds were comfortable. Room had a safe which was very useful. Buffet breakfast was amazing. Best scrambled eggs ever! Location was brilliant. Close to main Zurich railway station, coach park, local trams and only 10 minutes walk to the old town. Also close to one or two restaurants and supermarkets. It was very hot during our stay but, because the hotel is on a quiet street, there were no issues leaving the window open at night.
This is probably one of the best budget hotel I have ever stayed.
- 8-10 mins walking from Zurich HB station. 3 Mins walking distance from 3 tram lines which takes you straightway to old town and shopping district.
- But what I like most was size of the room and top notch facilities provided by hotel. More than value for money.
- Service oriented staff members.
- Also it was super clean. Plenty of dining (specially Indian ).
Highly highly recommended.
This hotel is in such a great location, especially if you are travelling to/from the railway station, which is literally just across the bridge. This was a perfect place for us to stay one night at the beginning of our tour of Switzerland. The view from the room window over the city (and mountains far away) was great. It is incredibly easy to walk from the hotel to all the main places in Zurich, the old town etc. Breakfast was really lovely.
You cannot beat the location of this hotel for a visit to Zurich. You are a very short walk to the train station and all other modes of transportation. All of the city center is a 15 min walk or less. You can walk out the door of the hotel and you are 50 feet from the main shopping street or a 5 minute walk to the river. The room was clean and perfect size for a few days in Zurich.
Good location near train station, tram access to airport. Felt safe, in the neighborhood. Construction outside but navigable and not noisy in room. It's a budget hotel with worn amenities but great for a short stay in very expensive Zurich. We stayed left bags 2days and returned 1 night. Made our train tour easy.
The breakfast was reasonably priced and the host was exceptional.
It was excellent choice for our 24-hour layover. Five minutes walk to the Central Train station with 15-minute train ride to the airport. Centrally located, the hotel is very clean and convenient to enjoy one day in Zurich. The old town is five minute walk, shopping is at your doorstep. Seasoned travelers to Switzerland will appreciate the value.
We where transferred to the Mercure stoller hotel so the review is for that hotel, 10 minutes walk from the Zurich hardbrucke train station, 8 minutes tram ride from city center(you can ride one stop before city center to get reduced fare) .
Room was good enough with private toilet and refrigerator
Very conveniently located near the train station and main attractions like Old Town, as well as shops and restaurants. It’s a cool hotel, and the furnishings were fun. Staff were nice. Zurich is expensive anyway, so this was the best value we could find
Comfortable room near train station Oerlikon, only a 5-min train ride away from Zürich airport. Good connections to everywhere in Zürich via train, tram, bus. Very friendly staff. Practically organized and clean room with a comfy bed.
The location is walking distance to the Old Town - plus, the tram is the easiest and most ideal way to get around...and the hotel was right across the street from the tram stop. Plus it was an easy tram trip from the airport.
Very clean event before time check in i Recommended for everyone who try to visit zurich Switzerland its much better then a hotel very cheap and Rahman was a very friendly a special thanks to rahman
The location was perfect! Right in the Old Town of Zurich, Switzerland and it was in the middle of the city center. An area with great food and really close to shopping centers on the same strip.
Location near to train station—- 5 minutes walk , 15 minutes walk to Zurich lake , city center near by 7 minutes walk , Starbucks next to the hotel
Staff very kind and helpful
Very clean
Best location, near train station and tram.
Easy to go anywhere by walking.
Shopping and Restaurant is around here.
Chinese&Thai restaurant is just opposite the hotel and very delicious.
The breakfast was ok. The thing about this hotel is that it is placed right at the tram stop Central. It offers tram travel in three directions, including right to Zurich Airport.
proximity to Zurich HB, Bahnhofstrasse, restaurants, and that it is located in Old Town. The Swiss Chuchi restaurant attached to the hotel is some of the best food.
Prices are low for a hotel in Zurich. Located right next to the end of tram line 14 for easy access to Zurich city centre. Relatively close to the airport as well.
-Best and most elegent hotel in Zurich.
-Check-in was very smooth.
-Room are larger than average and very convenient with kids
-Parking is huge and extremly safe
