We were at an event at the stadium which was walking distance from the hotel. The locals are helpful if you get lost. There's plenty of 7/11 shops to buy food from if you don't like the hotel breakfasts. There's a monument to visit and the train station has the Bullet train links to Ueno where you get on the "underground" style service into the city.

Definitely check out D'z racing cafe.
Definitely check out D'z racing cafe. The shop is a must stop at if you are a fan of Initial D, cars, or just want a quick bite to eat. Also check out the many "onsen" and the shrines that they have there.

The city wasn't so rural.
The city wasn't so rural. It could give vibe of metropolitan area as i wanted. Neither crowded nor sparse. I felt like there weren't enough branches of cheap eating chains. So we ended up having dinner at quite more expensive restaurant than we would usually do.
This feels like a luxury hotel with a budget price. It is right next to the station and you can check in and out electronically using a screen so not speaking Japanese isn't a problem. The staff are very friendly though and helped me with all my questions.
The room is good size and has a great view of the mountains. No complaints about the bathroom or anything.
I recommend having breakfast which combines Japanese and Western cuisine, also unlimited coffee refills.
A nice hotel close to the train station, easy access to city, check-in possible in late hours, very convenient. Perfect for short stays. It's not the prettiest, but fair for the price!
I had a bit of trouble founding the air conditioning, but it's certainly there! You need to open a cabinet-like thingy and find 2 switches (the method of turning it on is written on a notice on the wall so no problem there, just locating the switches was tricky).
The public bath was brilliant. But we especially loved the dinner. It was incredible. Great value for money with refills of rice. The breakfast was great too. The hotel is secluded but it has everything that you'd need, even beer in vending machines at normal prices. We'll definitely come back in the summer as there are lots of activities to do nearby.
The hotel very near to Takasaki station and we can walk through the sky bridge from the station direct to hotel. Very safe area and plenty of shopping store also department store, easy to find something to eat even late at night. Hotel so clean and staffs very friendly and helpful. My room is big enough. Would recommend to other friends
Old facilities located central to restaurants and shops. “You get what you pay for” type of hotel. Cheap, yet accommodates for all basic needs: bed, toilet and shower, plus buffet breakfast! Come for breakfast before 8am before the rice and food runs out! Otherwise, you have to wait ~20 minutes for rice and food to get refilled again.
Lovely hotel !
The onsen was great with an outdoor bath.
View from the room on the lake.
Japanese-style dinner and breakfast were absolutely gorgeous and delicious.
Comfortable japanese-style room (futons) where the whole family can sleep "together".
All of the above for a more than decent rate.
Perfect location in the Takasaki Station building. There’s a nice big Starbucks across the street, an Aeon that sells anything you’d need, and plenty of shopping and eating/drinking within a few minutes walk. Extremely quiet room, nicely decorated. The bathroom is spacious and pleasing.
We loved the bath facilities, and the closeness to the train. The restaurant on the main floor was convenient as well. We love apa hotels for their consistency and cleanliness. The front staff were lovely and tried hard with us to communicate with our awful amount of Japanese.
Beautiful, quiet location, it was nice to be away from the cities. The home cooked dinner was exceptional and a real highlight for our group - do not skip it! Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Takasaki area or passing through, even if for just 1 night.
Staffs are nice and helpful. We booked the hotel in the last minute, when we got there, it was almost 11PM which was out of the service time. The parking was full, but the front desk staff nicely led us to got about property parking.
Extremely convenient location just a few minutes walk from Takasaki Station and Takasaki Arena. Lots of restaurants, bars, shops, and other things to do right nearby! Free delicious breakfast in the morning was excellent!
A completely typical Japanese chain hotel experience. Clean efficient and adequate comfort. Well located with many restaurants, shops and station close by. Short walk to castle site and galleries.
The room was small but clean and functional. I liked that the women’s public bath was open until late, and they gave a code to get in for security purposes. The hotel breakfast was also very good.
