FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

Coming from Tokyo, first impressions were not the greatest as they are vastly different. But after spending the next day on our walking tour with Masa and exploring Osaka more - we absolutely loved it! The park around Osaka Castle was my favourite place for seeing the cherry blossoms in full bloom!

Most tourists appear to head straight for the Dotombori neighborhood, which tends to get massively and ludicrously overcrowded in certain places, while having very little to offer, apart from what is being touted by every single guide, website, or Instagram 'celebrity'. Obviously, Osaka has a lot more to offer: stay away from the crowds, and explore the city on your own.

Osaka is way more relaxed than Tokyo, and there's loads to do and see with children. Three days certainly wasn't enough. We visited Nara (the temple area with friendly wild deer), went to an interactive Team Lab exhibition at the Botanical Gardens, went to Osaka Zoo and visited a pet cafe. It's only 20 minutes from Kyoto and the train system is easy to navigate. Great food and happy vibe.

We spent in Osaka just one day and half and it was too short. Easy to go around and so many things to look at and discover. We have to go back there again. We reached NARA from OSAKA but probably it would be easier directly from Kyoto. Lovable shopping centers.

The location is great—just across the street from the Namba Station, close to restaurants, shopping, markets and Dontonburi, and so easy to take train to/from Kansei Airport and everywhere else! The property is clean and comfortable, and the best part is having a washer/dryer in your room! The staff is so friendly and spoke English, which was super helpful! We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which had a good variety of Japanese and western items. Will definitely return and recommend hotel to family and friends!

The rooms are small, but that's expected of Japan. If you are traveling with 4 people or more, definitely book separate rooms. The location is unbeatable. It's right above the Osaka station (the main station). We did not even have to go out of the station to get to the hotel, There are about 4-5 big malls connected to the hotel/station. Two out of six days when we were there it was raining. We did not even have to go outside to find great food and things to do as every mall has great restaurant selections.

The beds were very comfortable, bathroom was very good. Although the rooms were not big, space was used very efficiently. The hotel is next to the Shin-Osaka Station so that hotel is a HUGE base for traveling Japan via the Shinkansen. Unfortunately I booked the hotel for one night. Should I visit Japan again, this will definitely be my base 😏 Prices are very reasonable. The hotel also has a spa area, which though I didn't use because it was hot summer.

The location is very convenient. Dotonbori is 5 minutes away by walking. Very short walk to train stations, JR Station, laundromat is across the street. 7/11, Lawson, family mart are minutes walking distance. Staff ( Hsueh) was working when we checked in and checked out. He speaks minimum english but was extremely helpful. Room is tights as many hotels in Japan but comfortable enough for 2 adults.

Super convenient compact hotel. It has really nice modern Japanese style design. The room itself is quite small - pay attention to the description while booking. We were ready for this, yet of course it is not comfortable for two people with two suitcases. Amenities are good with a pleasant smell, tea and coffee are tasty. Location is good, Dotonbori area, Osaka castle are easy to reach.

The hotel is located strategically near major train stations (Osaka-Namba, Namba, Nippombashi) so it was a short walk to wherever we want to go, like Dotonbori and the malls. Clean and comfortable room with helpful staff in a nice building, 10-15 minutes walk from the central Umeda Osaka station, which made it easy to get to attractions and places around the city. Like most Japanese hotel rooms, it was quite small, without much room around the bed and in the bathroom, but it was fine for our needs and great value.

Fact that it’s super closed to the famous dotonbori street in Osaka. It’s like 5-6 mins walk away. Halal food can also be found near the apartment. Along the way to Dotonbori street. The apartment was the biggest compared to tokyo and kyoto hotels that i have stayed. It makes you feel like home. Highly recommended.
