Best to go when there is no snow.
Best to go when there is no snow. Get a taxi to the Karlag/gulag museum that is just outside of town. You can also book an English tour guide for that museum to learn more. The city's central park is nice and there are many good restaurants in the city. An easy weekend trip in Kazakhstan from Astana.RaquelUnited States

The location absolutely couldn't be better. Right on the main street, but still lovely and quiet. The apartment itself is a palace, the washing machine much appreciated at this stage of my trip. It has super nice and comfortable rooms, 24/7 restaurant downstairs and another one on the second floor open till 02:00 and I always stay here when coming to the city. Breakfast is a la carte and nice. But this time the drawback was really serious for me, thus I can't rate it higher.
