Our stay was brief but memorable.
We treated ourselves to a pre-booked Yakiniku Dinner Kagoshima on the first night. It was an excellent meal focusing on a wide variety of beef. We savoured the experience.
On our first full day, we toured Sakurajima, a great experience (despite the rain).
Again, we had an exciting evening eating experience - at a more traditional Japanese place. The staff and the interaction with the locals were great. It was an excellent meal, although not the standard of the previous evening.

The stores and restaurants in the train station were good.
The stores and restaurants in the train station were good. There is the famous Kiriko cut glass factory and gift shop, Senganen Gardens and an excellent restaurant with a view of the volcano, Yamakataya department store, and the people in Kagoshima are very helpful and friendly. Every time I go to Japan I go to Kagoshima now. It also has hot springs. It is easy to catch the bus and tram cars that come often to get around.

We liked the nearby shops, the closeness to ferry and trainstation with Shinkansen accessibility. We found a lot of different style restaurants nearby.
In our experience was 1 Queen-bed too small for 2 european people.
The free space allowed us to only open 1 suitcase at a time.

Fascinating, lively city, interesting surroundings, very approachable people. Good food, too. Public transport is well-organised and affordable, and easy to navigate. Sakurajima's brooding, smoke-spewing presence provides the city with a unique atmosphere. I recommend the Kagoshima Brands store for souvenirs and omiyage (9-1 Meizanchō, Kagoshima). And don't miss Sengenan on any account!

Kagoshima is a city with a large volcano in its back yard.
Kagoshima is a city with a large volcano in its back yard. It make for a different kind of vibe. It is also a port city with many ferries, mostly going south to the little island atchepelago that ends in Okinawa. Warmer weather than most of Japan but still pretty chill in January. Nice people, I found them friendly. I like the place.

Sakurajima ,Senganen, Siroyama, Tenmonkan, and so on.
Sakurajima ,Senganen, Siroyama, Tenmonkan, and so on. Famous sight seeing spots, I recommend you. And local foods, such as satsumaage, black pig, karukanmanjyu, kibinago, you had better try them.
Perfect location to explore Temmonkandori 15-20 minutes walk from the Kangoshima chuo station. Right across the tramp and bus stops. Near shops, restaurants, malls, bars, and so on. The class-Modern interior is amazing especially the lobby. Complementary drinks, toiletries and salt baths are beyond awesome. The smoking area was clean and you sat comfortably. Traveler friendly hotel you can leave your laugage for free. Kudos to the Lady receptionist who helped me with the bus schedule and convenient way to our destination.
Absolutely loved the place! It’s a hotel, but has a ryokan influence. The Japanese room was great, with enough room to move around and everything you need - water, tea, yukata, fridge etc
The onsen and traditional breakfast were great, too.
The location is perfect to visit many places of interest and the City View bus stop is just a couple of min walk from it.
My favourite thing was staff: they are all professional, friendly, welcoming, super kind and helpful. If I come back I will definitely stay here again, no doubt!
We spent four nights at Fav Kagoshima. Location was excellent, a calm residential neighborhood with plenty of parking spaces around the hotel. It only takes 10-15 minutes to get to Tenmonkan area by foot. The room was spacious, modern and very clean, with a washing machine and a small kitchenette with a great view of the city and the volcano.
Check in was fast and efficient, breakfast was delicious and the staff was incredibly helpful in making reservations at restaurants and answering our questions.
I got the free shuttle from Kagoshima Chuo station and had an easy check-in. The rooms are a little small but comfortable. The wifi worked well for my business needs. The onsen is clean, and I wish I had caught the view during the day. The area around the hotel isn't the most pedestrian-friendly, but there's a mall and a conbini across the street and a Starbucks around the corner. The staff were extremely friendly, and I hope to stay at this hotel again.
The hotel is in the center of the city, with all major transportation beside it (bus, train, tram). Despite that, the rooms are very quiet, clean and the view of the city is great (I was on the 10 flow). The breakfast was delicious with a lot of dishes to choose from.
And the staff was amazing with trying to answer all my questions and helping me in any way.
I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Kagoshima, for business or leisure.
The standard twin room was relatively bigger than other hotels in Japan. The room itself was renovated and clean.
There is a parking lot right in front of the hotel and very close to Tenmonkan, restaurants and bar area.
Last but not least, the buffet breakfast was really good.
A convenient hotel located in central Kagoshima City. It is very close to tram stations that will take you to the tourist spots such as Mt Shiroyama, Shiroyama Observation Park, Sakurajima Ferry Terminal. Also its walking distance to famous black pork tonkatsu places.
The Hotel is really cozy, everything is new, the beds are really comfy and the Location is excellent! The owner is incredible friendly, she helped us a lot and we felt very welcome- also with our baby! We would stay there again, if we are in the future in Kagoshima.
A nice apartment located very close to the tram station, and 20 mins of walk from the Kagoshima Chuo station.
The apartment was very large compared to what hotels in Japan made me used to. It was clean and comfortable. Definitely worth its price.
Great location for food choices and scenic walks around town. Kagoshima has a long history which can be enjoyed by walking around and learning about the statues.
Hotel room was decent size w a nice view. Bathroom and tub were a comfortable size.
The hotel is conveniently located in Tenmonkan, which has most of the shopping and nightlife in the city. The rooms are clean and a good size. I also like the onsen. The hotel offers a discount for parking at the building next door too.
Big room, cheap, clean, modern and many amenities like toothbrushes and laundry detergent for the laundry machine. Great location, 5 minute walk from Kagoshima-chuo station. Wonderful beds!! Easy check-in and check-out on tablet.
nice view of Sakurajima from the room. Breakfast was good, had nice selection of local cuisine and not jam packed like some places. Location was good same building as bus terminal to airport. Basement has some fun izakaya.
Had everything you need, no more and no less (e.g. lockers, power plugs near the bed, etc.). Very close to Kagoshima Station, street-car stop and bus terminals, as well as a shopping centre and a lot of restauraunts.
The location was probably the best feature of this hotel. For the most part, it was an enjoyable stay. Mainly because we had an awesome time in Kagoshima and didn’t spend a lot of time in the hotel.
The room has a wonderful view on Sakurajime. There is a intercontinental and traditional japanese (Kagoshima region) brrakfast as buffet. The staff was friendly and helpful.
So many choices for the breakfast (salty, sweet, Japanese, "Western", Kagoshima specialities). Adorable people at the cafeteria and the front desk. And an onsen !
