Most of the island's attractions - shopping, restaurants, hotels, the port to access other islands and the airport bus - are within a two minute walk of each other. I didn't visit the attractions outside of the centre because I didn't have a car and the local buses didn't run frequently but I had lots to do nonetheless. We spent our days walking down to the nearby beach, enjoying swims and snorkelling adventures in the warm waters. Our host even took us on a tour where he showed us clownfish, adding a layer of wonder to our stay. If you're a nature enthusiast yearning for a tropical escape that connects you with the natural world, this place is an absolute paradise.

A beautiful island, which is surprisingly big as it takes about 3 hours / 120km to drive the ourter circumference. Once you get outside of the main town it is exceedingly quite, with beachtiful beaches and countryside. A car is a must! The main town has easy access by boat to other remote islands. Taketomi was only about 15 minutes away, with stunning beaches, a good bike rental service with shuttle bus from the port and ox-cart rides!

Ishigaki has a lot to offer.
Ishigaki has a lot to offer. It's small enough that you can see it all in one stay but it's also varied to make you want to come back. The North coast is unspoiled. The beaches are never crowded.Some like Yonehara have showers. You can relax and refresh. It's an ideal place for families or couples. There is a wide range of eateries and lovely souvenirs like shells, textiles, cosmetics and tofu chips!

The hospitality and service was excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the manager was very kind and generous from Day 1 and made us feel at home throughout our stay. We enjoyed watching the sunset everyday and the atmosphere of the hotel was very relaxing. We would definitely stay at this beautiful hotel again. We highly recommend Sunset Cove Hotel if you want the best experience in Ishigaki island.
