We spent a couple of days here with our son and his wife. Everything was perfect. Our rooms were very comfortable: comfy beds & pillows, big TV, and all the luxury items provided. We really loved the Onsen and the relaxing and game rooms. They really did a great job with the buffet breakfast, as well.

The location at the ocean side, with stunning views from Atami hills, the little fishing port and its numerous eateries with freshest possible ingredients, busy shopping avenue at the train station, historic Kiunkaku Villa and garden, serving as the town's cultural centre, where I spent hours strolling and talking to various artists and artisans exhibiting their work, charming ladies at the villa's cafe, and the gem - MOA museum, what a great find! All this makes me long to come to Atami yet again during my next trip to Japan :-)

I didn't technically stayed in Atami city center, but a small town called Ajiro which is only two stations away from Atami, and our ryokan is 4 minutes walk from the station. It's a serene place with perfect combination of sea view and hot spring. The town is small, but it has quite some awesome restaurants ran by local people. I would recommend Satsuki Sushi and Shogyo Seafood Restaurant, premium quality food with very affordable price.
Ajiro is definitely an underrated town. Since the town center is both close to the JR train station and the seaside, it's a good place to stay and easy to travel between the izu towns by JR.

The hotel is beautiful.
The hotel is beautiful. Room is spacious and has amazing views. Hotel staff are attentive and helpful. Onsen was old but facilities are working fine. Location is near Atami attractions.
I wasn't aware that I have to make reservation for dinner even though the booking made was half board. Upon check in, I was told that I will only have Western dinner for my whole stay. I knew the hotel has a French restaurant but I didn't know that I have to state my choice of dinner in advance. Western dinner was ok, service at the French restaurant was excellent but the food quantity is too little (even for a small eater). On the second day, I requested for Japanese dinner but was told that Japanese restaurant was fully booked. After speaking with 6 different staff, the Japanese restaurant agreed to accommodate 2 more diners for one night but we had to eat our dinner at 5pm. My advice - please make reservation for dinner in advance. They have French and Japanese food to choose from.

Enjoyed the natural hot springs inside the facility.
Enjoyed the natural hot springs inside the facility. The beach had hot springs too warming the water, attracting lots of colorful fish.
The breakfast was fun, traditional. And the owners spoke good English too.
The view from roof terrace and balcony was beautiful, of the castle and city lights.
The path to find the guesthouse is marked, and once found easy and close to train station and restaurants.
ambiance was really serene and beautiful, staff was very attentive and kind - they really make you feel valued. We had the dinner and breakfast and it was more than enough food - beautiful plating and the food was overall pretty good. I would say the breakfast was most exceptional though. Our room had a view that was gorgeous and the Onsen was relaxing. also love they provide clothes for you to wear - it looks like Japanese traditional clothing.
I enjoyed the breakfast. The building and the room were very nice and pleasant. This was my first time staying in a traditional Japanese-style room with tatami mats, a futon, and sliding doors, and it was a great experience. The man who runs the hotel is incredibly kind and friendly. I struggled communicating in Japanese, but he was ready and able to explain the hotel's policies in English. A very nice place.
The hotel is a traditional Japanese vacation hotel with an Onsen ( tattooed people not allowed), the vibe is very Showa, I stayed in the Japanese style superior room and it was beautiful. There’s a shop inside, lots of vending machines, a karaoke room, a beautiful garden, a koi pond in a corridor (!) to the elevators, just a very Japanese experience.
We visited Atami to watch the fireworks show and the view from our balcony was spectacular. The breakfast buffet was well worth the extra cost and offered plenty of variety. Despite the hotel's age, the room was large and recently renovated with nice touches like USB charging ports and attractive lighting in the room. The beds were very nice as well.
The owner is very friendly. We had a Japanese style room, it was spacious and we were especially happy to have a microwave in the room! The toilet and bathroom are separated, which is both convenient and rare. Very good location, close enough to the beach, with a convenience store just across the street and a supermarket within walking distance.
A traditional guesthouse that is in fact, a Japanese ladies home with several rooms upstairs for guests, with a shared bathroom and toilet. My smaller room was pretty basic but for the price it did the trick. Only a few min walk from the train station so well located. The host was very lovely, making me feel very welcome.
Good price. Very helpful English-speaking staff helped me find things in the area to do. Location is pretty good, near the beach and not too far from the station. Seems like a popular spot among Japanese; the restaurant in the front was busy and the hostel lounge was a popular hangout spot as well.
We had the seaview room and enjoyed it overall as the hotel is really nicely located at the sun beach.
The public onsen were impressive (male 13th and female 8th floor), especially at night. There is a small lounge area with snacks and drinks from 14-17 o'clock.
This is a great Ryoken to celebrate Japanese tradition! Onsen experience is authentic and breakfast is warm and homely. Given the friendliness of staffs and the attentiveness of support to customers for a rainy day is very well appreciated!
The host is so warm and friendly. The room is larger than most Japanese hotels. Our room, the bathroom, and the living room all have a good view. The bus stop is only 2 min walk from the entrance, so it's convenient to go from Atami station.
5 minutes walk from Atami Station. There are many restaurants nearby. Toyota car rental is just opposite the hotel. The breakfast is delicious. Coin laundry on the ground floor is useful. Room is clean and bed is comfortable.
Proximity to Atami Station; spacious room (but we paid for the luxury room with view of the beach); large rooftop area for watching fireworks; great veiw of the beach and sea indeed; nice welcoming snacks and tea bags.
- we can have the beautiful city +sea view from our room and many other places of the hotel as it is on the top of the mountain.
- the service is extremely considerate and elegant
- the dining experience is 100%
The hotel is fantastic, new and very clean. The location is great right in front of the beach. I would recommend everyone to stay here and myself would return to this hotel when I visit Atami again.
The service was very attentive, all staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not speak Japanese but were able to communicate when we needed anything. The food was really good.
very clean and well maintained rooms, easy check in. A few minutes from Atami station. nice night view of the city. The onsens were smaller than usual but very very clean.
The hotel has a good location, within 5 minutes' walk from the JR Atami Station. The room was clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were nice and helpful.
