Nice little town to spend a couple days.
We loved Port 55 for food and The Rest House for drinks - both places were very welcoming.
We took the local bus to Negombo, 50SLR per person and about an hour to get there. We paid about 200-300SLR to get from our hotel to the town centre, so the bus was extremely good value!

Good for travel. nice locals, beaches, sunset and can experience traditional fishing village and traditional methods of fishing. nice sea food. Only few kilometers to international airport. Super markets and other things available in marawila town.
The location was fantastic right on the beach which is sandy and ok for swimming but is really the domain of the fishing community who work tirelessly to bring in their haul each day. Really interesting to watch them and admire their catch. The beach is totally undeveloped for tourists but the hotel pool is great and we were well looked after. Lovely breakfasts and fresh fish evening meals. This hotel is better than the descriptions we have seen and excellent value for money.
We really liked this hotel a lot.
first and most important I would like to mention the friendliness of the staff and manager who were always very helpful and caring - really great!
The hotel is located directly at the beach, allowing to see great sunsets. Everything is very clean.
The location is very nice at a beach with lots of palm trees.
The hotel offers a tuk-tuk in case you want to go somewhere else.
The staff at Club Palm Bay exceeded our expectations in every aspect. They were always willing to go above and beyond to help us out and make us feel very welcome. We cannot thank them enough for such an enjoyable stay. The hotel has so many wonderful activities like golf, basketball, swimming and tennis. There was always something to keep you entertained. The hotel provides a very relaxing environment.
Nice complimentary for incomers.
Really big bed, bigger than I've seen elsewhere.
Two types of breakfast: english and local. The first one is a typical but it's still okay. The local one unfortunately was too spicy for us, but that's a good experience. The portion was quite large.
Good swimming pool.
The hotel area looks good as well.
The property offered scooter rent.
Really good service, staff is really nice and wanted to help you any time. Pool was clean and we got a lot of free services like upgraded room, free tea and coconut drink.
The food in the hotel was really good, also breakfast was a lot. If it’s not on the menu, they are willing to make it for you anyways. There is also a dessert including the meal.
very new and beautifull hotel, spacious and clean room, just few speps from the ocean, very friendly and helpful stuff. A bit far from the airport but stuff helped to arrange transfer to us in advance. Super nice place to stay for couple of nights and great beggining of the trip, highly reccomended!
Salomon and his mother are really friendly people! We loved our stay at their hotel as we had some nice talks with them. We can highly recommend traveling to Sri Lanka and stay at Salomon Beach Hotel! The Beach is just a few footsteps away from the Hotel! :)
The staff is helpful and they try to deliver guests ' requirements at their level best. The hotel has ample space including a big swimming pool which is kid-friendly, a spot complex with a gym, and outdoor sports facilities.
The staff is very friendly and the hotel was good.
The beach is very nice and the pool was also good.
There is not much to see in the town around the hotel, but that is ok, if you just want to relax at the hotel.
It’s a great hotel - the best in Marawila.
Best beach, super nice personel and hospitality also
mind blowing fantastic food in western Sri Lanka.
Thanks for our stay for sure recomend this place 😍
Nice beach hotel, big clean room. The owner and the staff were very friendly, helpful and kind! Food was delicious! Private parking area inside the hotel yard. Highly recommended!
The pool was great and why I booked the hotel. Friendly staff. Owner took me to the ATM on the back of his bike. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed my stay and relaxed.
