Bandarawela is a busy, bustling town with all the major banks and a couple of Food City stores as well as many other shops and kadas. Just by the post office is the Bandarawela Hotel which is quiet and away from all the town bustle so ideal for a pit stop. Bandarawela is a good alternative to staying in Ella as it is less touristy but still in easy reach if you want to visit Ella. Out of the city the air is cool and fresh and the hills provide a respite for the weary traveller. From Bandarawela station you can take the train to Nanu Oya - for Nuwara Eliya, and Kandy or Hatton and indeed Colombo.NicoletteUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Lipton Seat, Water falls like Rawana Ella, Dunhinda fall, Bambarakanda fall, and Dowa rock and temple, Ella rock, Demodara bridge and many other beautiful places to visit in Bandarawela.

The staff and owners Lalith and Nirupa are exceptional hosts and were committed to comfort of us. The house is very homely and felt like our own home. Nirupas cooking was amazing, the milk rice was a die for. While the rooms are not luxurious, they feel like a home. The blankets were very nice. Highly recommend for a family or group to have a night out. You can catch the beautiful sunrise from the room itself.PathumSri Lanka
