Milfontes is in a lovely area, with good beaches to north ans south of the Estuary. The Quinta is in a lovely rural area. The disadvantage of this is that there are no facilities for evening meals. Sao Luis has a good basic retsaurant serving well cooked basic meals [several others were close].
I have visited Milfontes several times and have always found it difficult to find a suitable restaurant. If prices are not displayed on the outside menu I walk on by. Previously we stayed in Duna Parque's seaside hotel when it had links with the diocese, and used the hotel restaurant

This is a beautiful, peaceful place with amazing landscapes , great food and perfect to reconnect with nature and yourself. Very few tourists traps in comparison with other places I've seen. All feels at reach and within a walkable distance. You can switch from just enjoying a splendid, quite day at the beach to learning how to kayak in the waves of Atlantic or up the river or just play with the stand up puddle in the bay. And you can even do yoga on a SUP! The water was cristal clear and around 19 degrees early October when I went, but after the first chilly deep this would feel actually nice and refreshing. Tracking is another popular option in the area, with multiple possibilities to explore the nearby spectacular cliffs and hidden beaches. The secret is to come with an open heart and respect the impact you may have so others can enjoy same serene experience you'll have. For me it was a perfect place to go alone or with someone special.

Quaint sea side village with a great beach and nice old town. Everywhere is walkable.
Enough public parking for free. A good few eateries and restaurants as well as a supermarket in town.
Definitely worth a stop over while travelling South North

The apartment is beautiful and fully comprehensive with kitchenette, clean towels, nice ambience, helpful staff and kind and humble Portuguese staff (Jessica and Santos). The beaches are near the property and don't forget to check the nearby restaurant, Patio Aletengano for its awesome portions of Bachalau, Portuguese soup, etc.Driving here is easy and there is a Spar nearby though I wish there was an Aldi here. Wish we had stayed longer here.

I stayed at Rio Natural for one night while hiking Rota Vicentina trail with friends. Accommodation wise it offered, without a doubt, the best value during our journey.
Our rooms were spacious, clean and stylish. The location was in a prime spot in the old town close to the cafes and restaurants. The room was really comfortable - special mentioning to beds, bathrooms and big windows. The lady working at the reception was very helpful and charming.
I would love to stay here again when visiting Vila Nova de Milfontes the next time.
Room with balcony was spacious and equipped for a long stay -- minifridge, microwave, plates, utensils, dining table, closet, storage in bathroom. Very friendly and informative host. Mar Azul is at the end of a quiet street but an easy walk into town. Path to a lovely beach is right beside the property. Milfontes is a great town with plenty of local flavor blended with tourist infrastructure. Next time, we will stay longer!
This place was wonderful! So clean and peaceful. The host was kind and welcoming, and my room was cozy and spotless. The bed was nice and firm. It is a luxurious place to stay when walking the Fisherman's Trail, and a very good price. Bonus: there is a guest house bunny named Francisco! He is adorable and made me so happy. I highly recommend Sol da Vila. Best place to stay in Vila Nova de Milfontes.
it was a beautiful experience to check out of the city and enjoy the lovely rustic charms of this little homestead farm. it was thoroughly enjoyed by our 3 year old and I couldn’t recommend it more. And do book the horse riding as it’s not part of the hotel but a lovely lady looks after all these horses on the premises and she can be reached via the premises. it’s an experience to be cherished by all.
An amazing place smack in the middle of everything. Walkable to the beach and town. The owners' attention to detail and the experience you have is magical: recommendations for restaurants, beaches, hand picked wines, breakfast and dinner to die for. This is the place I would always come back to. One of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. Thank you!
Very nice hotel, Comfortable and clean. The breakfast was fantastic. Very fresh, the host made fresh scrambled eggs to order. Great fruit and extras. Nice outdoor sitting area. Nicely located. I was hiking the Rota Vicentina and they made a to-go lunch for me that was excellent.
Nice little hotel for 1-2 nights! Buffet dinner and breakfast were excellent and cheap. :-) Very comfortable beds, bathroom would need to freshen up but everything was functional. Room was spacious and staff was lovely!
The breakfast was very good, varied and with local products. The Staff was polite, friendly and professional. The hotel was near the beach and near the centre which was lovely because we didn't need to use the car.
The location was super . And when I come for check in I called them at night and that day was Christ mas day but they picked the call and come to hotel and give me the key which I am really appreciating .
Its a boutique hotel every-room is different and the facilities are excellent. The hotel is situated in a great location for the beach and near fantastic restaurants
this is more than a hotel - very friendly owner and personnel, a lot of extras included in the price, fresh fruits for breakfast served outside - amazing atmosphere!
