There is huge selection of restaurants and bars to choose.
There is huge selection of restaurants and bars to choose. Generally the quality is very good and cleanliness is good. Fish restaurants near the port are really good. If you like cooking there is the fish and veg markets, you can buy fresh fish daily as it is a working fishing port, also there is a large open air produce market about 500m from the port every Wednesday with many stalls. The old town has more character and little bars and cafes where you can get a better feel of portugues culture. Venture into the side streets.

Lovely coffee and cake shops. Shopping ok but out of season so some shops closed. Beach wonderful Good transport by bus and free circular bus to gypsy market and Vilamoura Went to Family Bistro many times. Rita’s shop is great for good Portuguese shoes

We loved the location.
We loved the location. Grocery, pharmacy, dental, were all accessible without needing a car. If you had a car other places like Albuferia, Loule, Lagos, Paderne, Faro, Fuzeta, Santa Luzia, Tavira are within an hour drive or you can take the bus. You can walk to Villamoura along the boardwalk which is about 2.5 km away. Weather was perfect for Dec-Feb, 15-25 degrees C.SharonCanada - 8.0Scored 8.0

We have visted the Quarteira / Vilamoura area many times and will be revisiting next year again. Obviously the weather is a great factor in choosing the Algarve. There are endless places to eat, you certainly won't go hungry. Communication is rarely a problem as a majority of Portuguese people are very friendly and also speak English. Hiring a car is an easy option to get around, lots to see and do with some fabulous beaches. I would definitely find a different apartment to stay in, however.JohnUnited Kingdom

The pool and outdoor space was quite nice, although we did not use them at this time of year. If you have access to a car, this is a great place to stay in Quarteira as the city/beach is only a 5-minute drive. For the price and the amenities provided (notably, the kitchen) it suited us perfectly.
