Great location in the center of the old City, close to museums and Port. The staff was very nice and professional. In the restaurant facing the beautiful Duke of Terceira Garden they serve great food at a reasonable price and a fabulous breakfast. Although right in the middle of Angra it was very quiet. If it were'nt for the unpleasant experience of my first evening I'd give the hotel at least 9 points.

Nicely converted old Fort overlooking the ocean. Bedroom was comfortable and clean. Beautiful views of ocean and over parts of the old city. Easy to get around and walk in town, but be ready for hills and uneven cobblestone. Staff were friendly and the buffet breakfast offered lots of variety and no shortage of food.

What I liked the most were the old streets, with the buildings, including the Angra do Heroismo Museum. However, there were a few minor annoyances:
1. The Tourust Information booth was useless, and you couldn't book a tour on-site.
2. The routes were pretty narrow, and people parked on the street, and nearly everyone drove, which made it a bit perilous for those on foot.
Nevertheless, the people were nice, and most spoke English

We did a lot of walking as it’s often the best way to get to know a place. Angra has much to offer in the way of history, beautiful public gardens, views - we climbed Monte Brasil - churches and eateries.

Beautiful, walkable downtown. People were so friendly.
Beautiful, walkable downtown. People were so friendly. Stunning views both looking at Monte Brasil and from Monte Brasil looking back toward town. The pink cathedral was very interesting, worth a stop in. Food was excellent! We especially enjoyed O Forno for dessert and the many tapas restaurants on Rua de Sāo Joāo. We also went scuba diving and found Nuno with Deep Blue Azores to be fantastic - wonderful dive master and very interactive underwater. Wonderful island and already itching to go back!

I was only there for one day, which was definitely not enough! Still, I was able to do a hike at Monte Brasil and explore Angra do Heroísmo downtown. Really recommend Monte Brasil if you are looking for some nature near town. Besides that the view from Obelisco do Alto da Memoria is amazing! I had lunch at Tasca das Tias, a really cute restaurante with great food.

Great view to the ocean. The house was fully equipped and gave the feeling like we lived in out own place. Cost us 20 euro with taxi from the airport to the house and about 10-13 euro to get to the capitol - Angra do Heroismo . We hired a car and we had lovely time exploring Terceira island. There is a local restaurant that serves delicious food just 10-15 mins walk. Very friendly host - always picked the phone and helped us with our enquiries.
Efficient, newly remodeled, and well-appointed hotel right in the center of town. We had a great suite that was perfect for the entire family. We were accommodated at breakfast even though we came late and no one hurried us. A very nice and accommodating staff. Very nice pool and sauna. And a magic garden right in the backyard! The whole experience was a pleasant surprise!
We did not stay because the odor of the hotel was too bad. Referencing Trip Advisor, after declining to stay there. The smell and run down condition is noted several times.
I just saw this link to comment. I have sent another complaint to your website in more detail about the false advertising of this property.
Good location, very clean, good size room. The only thing that I have to mention (that has nothing to do with the hotel) is the sound of the ocean waves. I am not an expert in acoustics but the waves felt only 1 meter away with windows opened and 10 meters away when closed. My point is that they were loud!
Memoria Hostel is a very treasure in the island. Our staying in the Hotel over exceed the expectations. Sergio and Helena and the rest of the Team give us a very wonderful experience. Giving us useful suggestions and always caring about our needs. Room, breakfast and structure is super cool!!
Hotel Ilha impressed me with its prime location, excellent communication, and thoughtful approach to parking. The central location allowed easy access to attractions, dining, and shopping. The staff's communication was exceptional, providing timely assistance and helpful information.
The location to downtown is excellent only a short walk to restaurants and the marina. The hotel is new and everything is clean and bright. The breakfast are exceptional and the staff was very friendly. They have a pool in a private courtyard area which was a nice surprise.
I enjoyed the garden-side room with small balcony. I enjoyed the hot tub. I enjoyed the breakfast area, with its varied options, including the milk for coffee, (not offered in cafes in the city) And I enjoyed the hotel restaurant.
The location is great, centre of down town Angra de Heroismo. ATM, pharmacy, shops, whale/dolphin watching and sea activities close by. Friendly staff, good and popular snack bar downstairs.
Modern and well equipped hotel in historical buiding with successful combination of modern with old style decoration look & feel.
Good breakfast, calm and private hotel, friendly staff
It was a wonderful combination of luxury hotel and historical site. The hotel is built around an old Fort that once defended the harbour. The old city was within walking distance.
GREAT Location walking distance to the BEAUTIFUL downtown area, free and close parking, LOVELY outdoor space in back of the hotel, and WONDERFUL hosts!
