Sun, Sand and The Strip!
One of the best Algarve resorts, Albufeira has wonderful beaches, turquoise waters and the dramatic, rocky coastline that makes this part of Portugal so special.
Naturally, life here is all about sun, sand and sea. The most popular Albufeira beach is Fisherman’s Beach and you can still see locals bringing in the fishing boats every morning - if you’re up early enough, that is. Tunnel Beach is accessed through an opening in the cliff, and both offer a variety of watersports.
Further up the coast is Albufeira Marina, from where sightseeing boat trips depart, while east of the town is the 9-hole Balaia golf course. On the way here, you pass Arias de Sao João, home to The Strip where the best bars and clubs are found, many staying open until the early hours.
The Old Town of Albufeira is more peaceful, and its cobbled streets house Moorish buildings and some great restaurants serving fresh fish. If you fancy a day trip from Albufeira, the 12th-century remains of Moorish Almoáda Castle in Paderne can be visited for free.
The town is around 45 minutes’ drive from Faro Airport and there is a fantastic range of beach resorts, small B&Bs and Albufeira apartments on Booking.com.

The hotel Epic Sana has to be one of the best hotels in this area. We found nothing that could be improved, as the accomadation, food, cleanliness was as a 5* should be. All the staff from management to housekeepers were pleasant and always willing to help or assist in anyway. Local facilities in the pretty village of ‘Olhos de Agua’ were adequate, if you are looking for a quiet peaceful holiday(no noisy night clubs or bars) which was heavenly for us. Excellent *****

Hotel Music and Location are all excellent. We would recommend anyone to go to Albufeira for a holiday. Plenty of transport options wherever you want to go there. It has a nice air to it but I found it strange because all was for tourists. There were no bookshops for example, or any of the normal shops you find in a place. Eduardo’s is a great restaurant. The tourist train is great but I got lost looking for the blue route. The local buses were good but didn’t go through the centre, just near it. Coming back from the centre the bus stop was on the other side of the road which was confusing if you didn’t know.

We walked about 10 miles total. Left our hotel in the new district and walked all the way to the marina. Very lovely. Hills and steps and crooked streets in old town made for a wonderful experience. Walked the whole marina and stopped for a bite and beer at El Barrio. Very nice. Back near our hotel we ate dinner at Lara’s. Delicious fish and chips.AAnonymous

Not the least expensive but fairly priced given the level of attention the front desk, food/drink servers and staff provided. Facility is relatively new but its location was perfect for us. Cheap Uber rides to old town and other parts of the algarve with the beach just around the corner. We were able to disconnect and relax during the day and then pick different areas in the evening. Italian restaurant around the corner was quite good.

We loved the architecture and history around every street corner. The Roof-Top Terrance on the Cottage is simply stunning and could have sat there all day listening to the Church Bells ringings, gulls calling while sipping wine and inhaling the delicious smells wafting up the streets from all the restaurants.
