Vierhouten might only be a small village, but since it's...
Vierhouten might only be a small village, but since it's located at a bustling intersection in an area where you'll find heath, moorland and woods there is plenty of nature to experience. Somehow this village is littered with places to drink and eat and, if need be, sleep. During WWII Vierhouten played an important role in secretly providing shelter to those who hid from the Germans. A small yet impressive exhibition on this topic can be found at De Vossenberg. Be sure to check that out! And while you're at it, also visit the "Verscholen Dorp" a few miles into the woods, the rebuilt hidden settlement for the wartime people in hiding. If that's not your cup of tea, then visit (hike or bike) the splendid nature all around and far beyond this Veluwe village.

Vierhouten is the location for hiking and cycling!
Vierhouten is the location for hiking and cycling! It's practically located in the woods and from there you can go in whatever direction and find nature. It's huge so you don't run into people often and when you do people are in the same mindset - being in and enjoying nature.
Vierhouten has multiple restaurants and hotels to choose from and to my understanding they're all good. We like to go and eat at 'Tante Sjaan'. We like the atmosphere and the staff is always friendly.
You can rent bikes close by, you can walk from the city centre. I don't think it's expensive, you get a bike that's in a good condition. I usually bring my own mountain bike, but in the past I have rented bikes and they were great.

Spacious, pleasant, clean and comfortable room.
Spacious, pleasant, clean and comfortable room. Beautiful location, excellent food, friendly and efficient staff.
Not so good - lack of electric sockets needed in this age of gadgets that have to be charged, no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
We stayed in 'The Cottage' although this is the second time we are coming to this property.
Location - very private yet you can easily reach Vierhouten with supermarket and restaurants. The forest is walking distance from the house.
Facilities - a lot of attention to detail in the decoration it's very well set up for a few days away from the city.
Service - the owners are very friendly and clear communication since the booking.
This was our second Fletcher hotel stay on our month long trip. The first Fletcher we stayed in was awful, so this one was really a pleasant surprise. The staff was extremely helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was fantastic. Very family friendly and a great choice for us.
The Treehouse was beautiful and well equipped, in a lovely location for nice forest walks while also being very close to Vierhouten (with some nice looking restaurants).
Hosts were very helpful and friendly and we (with our dog) would definitely recommend this place.
The property is ok, nothing spectaculair but didn’t spend much time in hotel so thats fine. The breakfast was awesome. The service was superb and the people very friendly.
GREAT staff! Iso helpful and friendly (Canadian style 😁) beds comfortable, room clean and hotel is newly renovated. Restaurant was good too. I will be back.
