Mysore is a gem of a city in India. The weather is usually much less extreme than other places in India. The people are friendly and there's lots to do. The palace is beautiful (especially on Sunday night when they light 10K lights for an hour), the catholic cathedral is very nice. The sacred Chamundi Hill is a must! Nandi Bull is on the other side of the hill and carved from a huge boulder. There is also lots of walking places and the Deveraja Market must not be missed for spices, flowers and lots of inexpensive interesting items including incense and jaggery. There is also lots of tailors, jewelry shopping and Mysore silk shops. The Southern Star is a great hotel there.

Mysore is my favorite city in India: it feels rather quiet, spacious, clean and a good atmosphere.
There is good food, southern Indian is my fav’ nice coffee, the beautiful maharajah palace and beautiful architecture, add the holy Chamundi Hill, both for an aerial view of the city and worship of mother Durga

This listing is obviously in India.
This listing is obviously in India.
I can't understand why it's listed with Booking, com as Jugglers Rest in Picton.
It's most confusing!
When you ring the contact number it's in India and the person that answers is very hard to understand and barely speaks English.
Personally I don't think Booking.com should have the property listed at all

I arrived at mysore by train from Bangalore and didn’t get to my hotel til around 13:30. Hotellier kindly provided a map and marked on it local places of interest, thinking this would be too late to visit the palace I went to the aquarium. The best thing about it was the entrance - makes for great photos.
Walking (with the aid of good old google) I came across the palace and couldn’t resist going in. Just 100inr - same price for everyone. I didn’t have to queue for more than a few minutes for a ticket at that time of day but there were still orderly queues getting around inside. I had plenty of time before closing at 17:30 so I achieved my purpose for visiting mysore earlier than expected.
Shoes are not allowed inside the palace so I’d recommend socks as 10s of thousands of people visit every week. The sheer opulence of the palace is something I’ve not seen anywhere else. I didn’t stay for the daily palace light show as I was tired out but I understand it’s quite something.
It’s not somewhere you’d find fine dining but the hotel I stayed at had a restaurant very nearby.

GOOD PLACE TO VISIT.
GOOD PLACE TO VISIT. WE LIKED THESE PLACES SUCH AS CHAMUNDI TEMPLE, MYSORE PALACE, ZOO, VRUNDAVAN GARDEN, MIRROR MAZE AND DEVARAJA MARKET. THE WORST PLACE IS WE HAVE VISITED DOMAINE SULA WHICH WAS ON THE WAY FROM BANGALORE TO MYSORE.

The room was spacious and clean. Since it was away from the main city, there was good parking space in front and around the hotel. Bed and towels were clean. Hot water was there.
The hotel lobby was pleasant and staff was very helpful.
The hotel is easy to locate as it is 1 minute walk from the main ring-road. Though you need a vehicle, there are stores and restaurants around the area within a radius of 1 to 2 kms. The hotel provides room service if you want to order coffee or food. Swiggy does deliver food from nearby area.
The breakfast was excellent, not too many choices but the South Indian dishes were great. Rooms, and the hotel in general, was neat and clean,. It was located conveniently on the main Mysore-Hunsur Hwy. The swimming pool was good, and my son enjoyed it very much and the poolside dinner in the evening was great. The indoor playing room had TT, Snooker and Carrom faculties, which we used as well. Hotel staff were polite and helpful.
nice decent hotel in the heart of the city. easy access to the city center and places around Mysore. There is ample parking space. A restaurant next door, which is great since you don't have to walk far for getting something to eat. Staff is very polite and helpful. Rooms were decent enough (bathrooms are bit small though). Over all a good hotel to stay in Mysore, would definitely recommend.
Neatly maintained rooms. Many cable channels available. Quiet place (all 3 days i was on client calls and no outside disturbance). There are many shops available within a few metres from the hotel. Easy access for people coming from outside, just near the ring road. You can walk around the place in the evening, there is a good amount of walking space available around the hotel.
The Rooms were dusty and the bed linens quite old, after highlighting, they were replaced. Staff cooperative, hotel looks good but the cleanliness of room and the bed/pillow covers needs attention, older towels. TV channels never worked, parking could be a problem if you arrive late. The facility has only space for 3 cars. Rest need to park on road side.
It was an excellent trip in Mysore. We enjoyed our stay at KSTDC mayura hotel. Great hospitality and service provided and especially thanks to the Manager who supported us for the early check in process and accommodated the rooms for our entire team.😊
Thanks and regards ,
Sundaram
Nice location, near St. Philomena's church, but not near the mania of the Mysore Palace!
Staff were respectful.
Reasonably clean and reasonable value for money.
It's a fairly new hotel though and they tried very hard to please and get thing's right...which is worth a lot imo.. 🙂
The hotel is well located - just 10-15 min walk from Main Street and all yoga schools. It’s by the busy road so expect honking and traffic noise. The staff is very mindful and kind, there is a kitchen available to guests which is super nice! Hot shower
Location is the USP of this hotel - walking distance from Devraj Urs Road (Key upmarket street in Mysore) and also very close to the Railway Station, Mysore Palace and St Philomena Church. Facilities and room amenities were very good.
Breakfast was good, restaurant and staff there were good, best part of the hotel! Options of 2-3 sorts of breakfast made fresh. Reasonably close walk to entrance of Mysore Palace. Close to a couple of very good restaurants.
Hotel was super clean
Parking is outside on road, ample cars can be parked. It is off the Mysore ring road, so very easy to locate. Morning view from window was perfect. 14ftx14ft spacious room.
The hotel is neat and clean. The best part is the location. Most of the places are nearby walkable. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel restaurant also serves decent food.
this is the best place to stay, good hygiene, a good vibe , and safe to be with families with good room service, when u visit Mysore please do stay at shine residency….
Very good hotel with clean and tidy rooms, helpful staff , very good location and all attractions were nearby. Overall a very good option for family in good budget.
Actually Nothing, only the hotel elevation looks so grand and inside its ambience of untidy busstand toilet, not recommended for family, worster ever stay in my life
