Leuven is a great city with a lot of late Gothic architecture. You can see the entire city in a weekend. The top sights were the city hall and the Tafelrond with the Cathedral across from it.
The Begijnhof was actually one of the most beautiful places to walk to and through. So peaceful and beautiful architecture.
The Kruidtuin (botanical gardens) were a huge treat. Free entrance. Even in the winter it was fun to walk around.
M Museum is not that interesting. The collection is very small. It took about 1 hour to see everything.
Leuven is a university city but still has a lot of gastronomy. There are restaurants for every budget. I loved the La Cantina Mexican restaurant. Bar Louis was also awesome for drinks before dinner.
The stores are all closed on Sunday so take that into account when you go. I would definitely go back again sometime. You can walk everywhere.

Beautifull, historic city.
Beautifull, historic city. Splendid townhall, beautifully iluminated before Xmas. Library with great arquitecture and tragic 1st and 2nd World Wars history. Countless cafeterias, restaurants, bars, Xmas market at the Groote Markt. For churches lovers - very interesting places to see.
M Leuven - art museum definately worth seeing. I had the luck to see the exhibition "Dieric Bouts. Creator of Images". Oct23-Jan24. Many events connected with this Leuven citizen and artist of the 15th century.

Leuven is a beautiful town with a lot of old and well restored buildings, plenty of eating places and very lively not the least as a result of the student population which consists of walking and cycling Belgian and International students. Although the weather was quite bad we walked around before going to dinner The area around the Begijnhof makes you feel like you go back in the time.
Another great thing about Leuven is that you can do everything on feet as everything is within walking distance.

Leuven is a wonderful university town located 20 minutes by train from Bruxelles, in the Flemish region. Being the city of the most prestigious Belgian University, the town is vibrant and easy-going, with a rich history and several artistic and cultural hot spots of high interest. There is a quiet and fascinating botanic garden that provides a great opportunity for escaping into the peaceful greenery. You can easily walk around, but there is an efficient system of public transport. Several good restaurants from various international cuisines and many hotels are at hand. The University Library is a must: climbing its tower, floor by floor you will go through the history of the town, especially recalling how the tragedies of the two World Wars brutally impacted it. KU Leuven, the university and one of the main institutions of the town, which plays a pivotal role in organising events and cultural activities, offers one of the best university programs taught in English in the European continent, thus the town is authentically international. Moreover, there is the plant where Stella Artois is produced, where guided tours are organised: it is worth a visit!

Leuven was absolutely amazing.
Leuven was absolutely amazing. Getting lost in the sights, sounds & views. I rate Leuven much higher pertaining things to do, spots to explore & indulge your senses. For some people Antwerp, Gent & Bruges may rank higher, but for me Leuven is the better option. It’s off the beaten track, the churches, Groot Begijnhof, the Kruidtuin, even the unforgettable & magical Hal 5 at Kessel-lo. Do yourself a favour & go to Hal 5. You won’t regret
it. Decadenza will serve up gelato that will put Venezia, and even Firenze to shame. Then there’s Danta’s coffee shop…. Oh my word! As confirmed coffee snob, I can only say Fantabulous indulgence.
Leuven is easy to navigate, buses, trains and best of all, on foot, you will be treated to priceless gems.
I would book a longer trip, then I can indulge more and get into the culture and even volunteer at the Chapelry of KU Leuven. Walking along the river Dijl, truly magical.
The hotel is close to Arenberg Campus of KU Leuven - 10 min walking, it took almost the same time for the bus so the location is convenient to those who come for business in KU Leuven. The hotel is located near the bus stop to both campus, the city center and the central station. The room was what they promised, with a minikitchen, bathroom and fast Wifi. Everything worked well, air-conditioner and all.
Great location, the hotel situated right in the centre and easily accessible by public transport. 10-15 minutes walk from the train station. Our rooms were compact with modern facilities ( took us a while to familiarise with the switches and coffee machine!!).
Breakfast was good, great service provided both by the front desk and the restaurant. Highly recommended.
The location is great, close to the train station and the main shopping street of Leuven. The room was comfortable, the internet worked well and the breakfast was ok for the day. It was nice that there were some variations from day to day. The rooms was a bit cold but the bedding was enough to keep you warm and comfy. The room did the job for the short stay.
Pentahotel is stylish, right in the hub of Leuven, yet quiet. We had a very clean quiet room. Excellent air con in the middle of a heatwave was much appreciated. Comfy beds. 24 hour bar for those who need it. Underground parking available (although may be a bit expensive for some at £22 per night). Efficient helpful team who speak good English.
I liked that the location was quiet while still being close to the train station. The apartment was very spacious and beds were comfortable. Everything seemed clean to me. I also liked the common room with the kitchen so we could also prepare our own meals or socialize with other guests.
The location is marvelous next to the serene Begijnhof and spacious garden. The vibrant centre of Leuven is at a 15 minute walk and rental bikes make it easy to see the beautiful area to the south. Biking around the city is a pleasure.
An excellent location for walking in to central Leuven. Train station is across town about 20mins away, but easy to find. The area around the hotel is very quiet and there was little noise at nighttime.
Location is the best, just outside the Leuven train station. If you are carrying luggage you need to find a way to reach the train station with elevator which is little bit complicated.
The convenience of the location, just next to the train station. The Room size is medium and good for up to 2 persons. The work table, ironing and accessibility makes it convenient.
Location near station and within walking distance of center. It was quiet. Breakfast was great, included, brasserie is part of the hotel. Good food, helpful staff.
Historic cachet.
Perfect location for a citytrip. Nice square with hotels, bars across the street from trainstation. Nice Hotel/restaurant. Charming and a little datet. Good breakfast and diner!
The location is very good. Next to the central station and city center. The room was quitet and quite clean. The breakfast for fair price. The hotel looks charming in general.
Late afternoon booking for one night so close to the train station course. Good price for a basic hotel room. Close to city centre on a quiet street. Good enough for me.
Hotel was just 5 mins walk from the train station. The room was spacious for a family of 4. Breakfast was excellent. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.
Great location near the Grote Markt and a spacious room! We’ve stayed in different hotels in Leuven before and Martin’s Klooster is our favorite so far.
