I had the most fantastic stay in Serene Cove - I was incredibly sad to leave - the place is super beautiful, the food is delicious, the couple who own the place are very friendly, helpful, lent me a bike, made amazing cakes, helped me learn Chinese and I would have loved to stay longer.

Amazing scenery. Definitely get out on a bike or electric scooter and go along the footpath next to the river.
The evening light show is amazing and definitely worth going to, but it is expensive and, be warned, nearly all the spectators (a few thousand of them) will be on their phones and talking very loudly throughout the whole performance.
West Street at night is worth seeing once. It is slightly tacky, but in a pretty way.
Silver cave is very pretty and you get a free headset in English (presumably other languages too). I can't believe that Reed Flute caves in Guilin are better, yet they are a lot more expensive.

I think Yangshou shines the best when you are trying off the beaten path things: climbing, caveing, trying local food (not just Kung Pao chicken, come on) and renting a scooter.
I'm genuinely impressed by the environment, people and abundance of culture of Yangshuo.
I tried a lot of local delicacies including oil tea 油茶,snail noodles 螺蛳粉 and beer fish. Definitely something you won't be able to try anywhere else. I liked first two, not the last one :)
I loved exploring surroundings via scooter, it is such a nice thing. And you have a chance to enjoy superb infrastructure of China. You won't believe me if I tell you that Yangshuo has highways with both motor- and bike- lanes. Simply amazing.
I recommend trying outdoor climbing and even caveing. There are many great spots (ask your hotel host, they should be able to tell you).
Come and enjoy.

For me, I went to Yangshuo for a relaxing getaway and that's just what I got. I don't know when the last time I have been this relaxed. I have friends who go there for rock-climbing and go a few times per year. The city is not very big so you don't need a lot of time going from place to place. I would advise to stay somewhere outside the city, like, within 5-6 kilometers and just rent a scooter. Actually, riding the scooter helped me get familiar with the city a lot better. And it's a form of meditation in and of itself, offering a bit of concentration as I got some sun on my face and cool wind in my hair.

Yangshuo is one of the prettiest parts of China in our opinion. The beauty of the Karst mountains is stunning and never bored us. The diversity of the mountains is a real treat for the eye. There are plenty of activities around like caving, climbing Moon hill, bamboo rafting the yulong river, exploring the environment on a rental scooter (¥30,- a day) or even helicopter and hot air balloon rides! Don't miss out on the local beer fish, a dish famous for a reason! Dine at Yangshuo Mountain retreat (the Brew) for the best tranquil dinner ever! Have lunch at 'Moon Hill restaurant' before or after climbing the mountain. The restaurant is located right next to the entry of the hill. Amazing view while eating local food. Take a few hours to visit the cable car, glass bridge and view platform of Ruyi park, lovely as well.

Yangshuo is located in the midst of a beautiful and tropical karst Mountain landscape and there are plenty of attractions ranging from caves to cable cars and tea plantations around, but the town itself is highly commercialised and most businesses cater to domestic package tourists.

Ruyi Peak was amazing, the moon caves were fabulous, and the white water rafting was incredible. Generally, the stunning nature was awe-inspiring. I would probably avoid the 'Impression Light Show'... it was 'ok' but only 'ok'.
We couldn’t have had a better stay in Yangshuo! Sammie, Eric and Limin were incredibly friendly and helpful - even walking with us to rent scooters and to the restaurant to help us order the best dishes. The room was great and the common area is lovely with outdoor seating and a pool table. Eric also stocks the best italian coffee and Belgian beers. The location in the countryside is beautiful, and much more relaxing than being in town (which is a quick drive away). We wish we could’ve stayed longer, and will definitely be back one day!
the Hotel employees or the best very easy to work with very friendly spoken. Very good English always there to help always with a smile really really helpful.
The location being outside of the main city is really awesome if you are looking for a quiet nice night
The mopeds that they rent there are the best things ever makes life and getting around so much easier
Fridge is $30 a night. You are getting way more than your moneys worth as I mentioned the people there are awesome
excellent location to explore YangShuo. What really made our trip special was how helpful the staff was to help us plan our holiday in Yangshuo. Nothing was too much to ask. The staff helped us to organise taxis, lessons in Tea Tasting/chinese painting with minimum notice. They also helped us with payment to other providers when the payment method did not work.
Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay again
Absolutely STUNNING view from our Riverview room. Lovely room, spacious and the most comfortable bed we slept on whilst in China. Resort has a great pool and it is easy to hire bikes for 20Yuan a day. It's about a 20minute walk out of town so very peaceful and beautiful, the walk is very direct but not super well lit for female travellers at night. Staff were incredibly helpful and spoke great english.
Best hostel for both climbers and non-climbers alike that want to experience the amazing Yangshuo. Lily was an amazing host and as a pretty inexperienced climber she guided me in all the best routes in area. I’m sure during peak season you would have no problem finding a climbing partner. Hotel facilities were prefect and great value for money. Definitely would recommend if you’re staying in Yangshuo.
The place was amazing, the room, the view, the staff, breakfast, everything!! Yangshuo is wonderful in itself, but this place made my trip so exceptional and memorable, and I will probably come back to this place to enjoy it again! Maybe in a warmer season so i could also experience the outdoor pool, which i missed because it was winter:)
The property is located in the center of Yangshuo, making it convenient to go anywhere. West Street, the Ten-Mile Gallery, and the Yulong River bamboo rafting are all accessible. You can also enjoy rock climbing and cycling. The homestay is very clean, and the owner is very friendly, willing to help plan your trip here in the best way!
very clean and organized. it was close enough to town but just far outside that it felt like you were in the country. the best front desk staff ever. extremely helpful and accommodating and willing to go the extra mile. I highly recommend staying here for anyone coming to Yangshuo
The location is very nice, in a quiet side of Yangshuo and not that far from town. DiDi always been less than two minutes to find. The resort is really nice and well kept. The swimming pool is perfect if not too many customers.
Very clean and very gentle staff
Beautiful hotel on the river with a much needed swimming pool for the hot summer days. Food at the restaurant was also great. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and helped with everything that we needed. We will return.
The hotel is very sweet and the rooms are comfortable. The location is very near the river, and it is easy to rent a bicycle, scooter, or set up a rafting ride. Si Jie was very nice and helped us with everything we needed. Thank you!
Fantastically well organised and thoughtfully made hostel. All the comforts of a hotel but also with the social environment of a hostel. Great location. Great optional social events. Very clean and friendly. Highly recommended.
The Yangshuo Tea Cozy hotel is lovely place to relax in the country. They have all that you need and are more than willing to assist you in everything you want to do. The hotel is about 10 minutes away from the main township.
beautiful small and cute hotel in a good location near Yangshuo town. it’s our 3th time here. Quite with amazing views. the staff is nice and helpful. everything in Tea Cozy is simple oerfect.
The location was really good and the staff was really nice.
The hotel was located in the a quite street, so close to west street and Yangshuo park.
The bed was so comfortable.
Excellent hotel in all aspects. Restaurant makes amazing western food. Staff is absolutely excellent...helpful and accommodating. Nice pool...always clean.
