Beautiful water town. It was the third one I have been to and all in all, the best. However, it was pricey to get into (150-190 rmb) and I was upset to learn that it was a single entry ticket, which meant that I couldn't return in the evening after I left to freshen up in my hotel after a long afternoon of walking around.
The town is exceptionally clean and I was delighted that when I went in a public toilet it was modern and remarkably clean for this type of place.
Had a nice lunch of Chinese food by the canal, which worked out to a reasonable 60 rmb per person, including a beer each, so we were happy with that.
There are lots of interesting museums dotted about the place and it was very pleasant to take a stroll around the town or sit in some nice nature spots. Lovely place.

Ideally you spend 2 nights here and buy a combi-ticket for both scenic zones (only valid on 1 calendar day).
Arrive in the evening and spend the night there. The next morning, first visit Wuzhen East scenic Zone and then move on to the much larger Wuzhen West Scenic Zone, where you can spend the rest of the afternoon and evening. Advantage is that you can have dinner there, so you enjoy the canals both during daytime and in the evening.
Then, spend your 2nd night there.

I like most the boat trip at night at the Western Gate of Wuzhen. The brightly lit old town on water with stone arch bridges, transported me into a part of the history that I knew only through movies and drama serials on the ancient world of martial arts, filled with love, honour, justice, revenge, betrayal, etc. I could even dress up in the costume of that time and have my photos taken.
