Nanjing always seems to me to be a real Chinese city - I love trying to explore. The metro is easy, the city is well-connected with Beijing and Shanghai. The people in my experience were very friendly and there is a lot to see, both in museums and outside. There is a real sense of history here.

Nanjing is not a crowded city.
Nanjing is not a crowded city. Most attractions are within the city and can be easily reached by subway or bus. The cost of transportation in Nanjing is very reasonable. There is so much history to see and experience in Nanjing!
However, the people are not used to the sight of foreigners in town. Expect to get taken pictures of or approached by curious children.

I enjoy the peace and calm of the area.
I enjoy the peace and calm of the area.
It is a clash of urban development projects and towering skyscrapers.
Community members are endearing.
Getting around is easy but pay attention to your distance requirements/preferences to the cbd from your hotel and the distance from your hotel to the airport. Research!!!
I stayed for a day for work but I got a glimpse of the cbd. It is neatly trimmed and sprouting with skyscrapers and relaxed community members.
Quite my scene.

Each time I have been in Nanjing, I absolutely enjoyed my time there and I would highly recommend it to anyway travelling to eastern China.
Although Nanjing might be less-known than other cities in the Shanghai hinterland like Suzhou and Hangzhou, it is definitely worth a prolonged visit, especially because it is so easy to go there by train from Shanghai.
Being a culture-seeking tourist, the following short list of places to visit in this former capital city is already somewhat like a candy store: the former Presidential Palace, the mausoleum of Sun Yat-Sen, the Nanjing Massacre Memorial museum, the former residence of John Rabe, Nanjing Museum, multiple temples and pagodas, an impressive city wall, the Gate of China, the archaeological site of the former Ming palace and the mausoleum of emperor Hongwu.
And, obviously, the buzzing city life in this student city (about 20 universities and institutes of higher education) is far from absent with plenty of shopping malls, street food shops and restaurants in Xinjiekou and the historical Qinhuai river district.
I would definitely recommend everyone to check it out and give it some thought on planning your (next) trip to China.
All the staff was very helpful. The hotel give us a upgraded room. Next morning during breakfast, we feedback to a restaurant staff that the room is a bit small, the assist manager immediate arrange a new room for us.
Staff was really helpful, i feedback new room not cool enough, they offer to change room, i didn't want to go thur the trouble again so i declined , they pass me a fan. I said room abit humid, they put a air humidifier.
The staff at Hilton Nanjing are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location is great for access to the main metro line, and some of the city's attractions. It is also located close to a lot of banks and a variety of shops. Breakfast offered a good choice buffet of hot and cold foods. Don't expect an English breakfast though. I was more than happy with the Chinese breakfast, although some of it was a little greasy.
The hotel is located walking distance from the city centre hub. It's also about 100m from the metro station and hospital if needed. The rooms were quiet and clean and has bathtubs in them and great views of the city and mountain area. Staff were friendly and spoke enough English to communicate with us. We didn't use their restaurants or bars though as we went out all the time.
The atmosphere is traditional and very unique. Great breakfast buffet. The room and bed were super comfortable and spacious. The location is perfect in the old district of Nanjing. Very friendly and helpful staff. The massages offered in the spa are of a high quality. Although the massages are a bit pricy, I am super content I tried them. This hotel is highly recommended!
It’s just in the city center of Nanjing, you’v got all the fancy shopping malls nearby. With the metro, you can go to anywhere in Nanjing and easily. It has two towers, we stayed at the older and lower one. But still we were high up and got a great view of the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the money.
The hotel is excellent, great central location and good access to transport and communication requirements the breakfast on level 45 is great although better English may make it easier to order some items. Coffee is crap, but standard fare for that area of China.
The view is simply stunning, simply one of the best in China
Location is definitely good, close to Fuzimiao and train stations and also got shopping center within the same compound which makes it convenient to quickly buy clothing if needed. Breakfast good choice both local and western food, staff friendly and helpful. Overall hotel is clean and good.
This gorgeous, tasteful little hotel is located a few minutes a few minutes walk from the city wall and the river embankment, in a neighborhood of narrow alleys which are not inhabited by investment bankers. Very kind and helpful hostess and beautiful rooms!
Owen Mr. Alan was extraordinary gentle. He picked me up in the airport and the day after he brought me to buy a SIM card before bringing me back to the airport. He spent half an hour for me to buy a SIM card. I really appreciate his extraordinary kindness.
Location is eccelent to visit Fuzimiao, the Zhonghua Gate, and the parks around it. Close to a subway station which is directly connected to Nanjing High-Speed Railway station. Friendly and helpfull staff, big breakfast buffet
The owner was very kind and hospitable. Free shuttle to and from the hotel was provided also. This hotel represents excellent value and is perfect for those travellers seeking a stay close to Lukou airport Nanjing.
Design, Architecture and setting of the hotel is exceptional. The architectural Villas on site are unique and masterpieces of its kind, there are no chain hotels to offer such unique stay.
