Guilin's food and accommodation are really cheap in terms of it's a tourist city.
Nice city to spend few days in.
Compare to Yangshuo and Xingping Gu Zhen, Guilin is much clamer, less commercial.

桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。
桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。临江有闲别院酒店的住宿体验如下:This hotel specializes in scamming and mistreating unsuspecting foreigners. I was placed in a room with over 60 mosquitoes and recorded video footage. Although the staff changed my room, the 2nd room also had over 60 mosquitoes. They take care of mosquitoes better than they take care of guests. The staff then just gave me an electric fly swatter and told me to "deal with it". The TV was also broken. I asked the staff about it and they claimed I "didn't know how to turn it on and was operating it wrong". Even though I kindly asked them to show me how to turn it on, they were absolutely disrespectful in their refusal. I have photo and video footage of not only mosquitoes and flies. Horrific experience, avoid this place at all costs.

Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere.
Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere. The Prince's Palace is slightly older than the Forbidden City in Beijing and has many parts to explore. The climb to the top of the Solitary Beauty Peak at the back of Jingjiang Prince’s Palace at sunset is stunning. Karst scenery is the backdrop to a diverse and decorated skyline. Once darkness arrives, the city comes alive with lights everywhere. Glowing Bridges, boats, islands, ancient relics and the iconic Sun and Moon Temples towering over the water create a carnival for the eyes. Musicians and dancers fill the air and their joyous parades spill out along the walkways. The waterways ring the city and there are boat cruises. The boulevards downtown have wide sidewalks and are tree lined, which makes for pleasant strolling. There are something like 7 different bridges all with different scenic views of the waterways that were once part of the defense system for the ancient rulers. Guilin has been a poplular tourist destination for years, so there are a fair amount of English speakers and hip coffee houses and restaurants. It is also a jumping off point for tours to the Longji Rice Terraces, Ancient Villages and Li River cruises. All in all, we wished we had more allowed more time in Guilin as the people are charming and there were more museums and parks to explore.

Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night.
Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night. The markets have handmade items to buy, lots of sweet mandarins and kumquats as well. The city Centre has a selection of quaint Chinese Restaurants and western bars. Many of the locals speak very good English which makes communication easier. A truly delightful place to visit with many interesting places to explore just outside the city.

Guilin is a very nice place for relaxation, people are very kind and as a small city, all activities are within walking distance. If you want to see the real beauty of Guilin, it's better to go to Xinping where you can enjoy the old town, nice mountains (drawn on 20 Yuan banknote), and river cruise. Also, you can go to the elephant trunk park (make it around the afternoon). Impression light show in Yangshou is not as expected. so you may escape it. Reed flute cave is nice medium-size one, if you have been to another one, you may escape it. All in all, it's worth to visit the city and enjoy nature. Don't forget to install Didi taxi service. It's available in English.

Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer...
Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer service and my Goo Hotel was efficient, but l have passed thru Guilin many times only to find the city beautiful but people in general not really very friendly.... especially if you don't speak Chinese. It is pretty clear that all the people want is your money. l have lived in Zhuhai for 18 years and avoid Guilin other than just passing through on my way to Yangshuo...or Longji Titian. LM sorry.
Jerry, the manager of the hotel, was so helpful since we got in touch with him. he recommended the places to see in Guilin and also tips on how to get to longji and Xingping. the room was very clean and comfy, he even upgraded us for frew and offered us the best coffee we had in Guilin!
checking in was a breeze and location is central.
The hotel is so beautiful and cozy, the stuff are super super nice - we went there on our honeymoon and we got a free upgrade for our room. We got an absolutely beautiful room! And they showed us the other rooms they are so beautiful as well! Super clean, great location, and very confortable. I highly recommend this hotel.
Continental breakfast will fill the belly with a tasty latte to start the day. Great location to begin our adventures of Guilin. Pedaling on city bikes was easy to get around to see the city’s attractions. Junshe recommended a lot of places and were helpful in our Yangshuo planning. A very friendly hotel to stay in. Enjoy!
The hotel's location was spot on. Almost everything was far from 10 to 20 minutes, if you took a walk. The hostel was great and clean. Jerry was very helpful, he assissted in everything, from explaining in details how to get to the hotel to helping find a place to do test and showing some of the things to see around.
Aroma Tea House was very, very clean and comfy. The breakfast room has great views and the Chinese breakfast was great. The staff was very kind and helpful. Guilin is interesting and the imperial mini city and mountain, plus the sun and moon pagodas were easy walks from the hotel.
Truly a 10/10 hotel.
The rooms are as described and perfectly functional, clean and quiet.
The staff is super nice and helpful, even supported me in contacting my tour guide and made sure inward all set.
The breakfast is such a highlight and feels so special.
The room was gorgeous and clean! Peaceful and serene. The staff are all lovely and friendly, extremely willing to help with all requests. Great location along the river. Love the big bathtub and good hot water supply. We would definitely come back if in Guilin.
Our stay here was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and helpful! They did a very cheap breakfast, which was great! Walking distance to the main part of Guilin. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
The hotel is in a perfect location and is very easy to walk around. The staff was really helpful and so kind, they really made the stay worth it. The bathroom was large and had a really nice shower/ bath.
Luca and Lucy are great hosts! Best stay in Guilin, do not doubt to book here! They help you to organize everything and also have great coffe :) Would come back and recommend it without doubt!
Well located but not in centre Guilin - easy accessed by taxi - Didi from the station
Can walk into town along the river but does take about an hour
Good views from the front high rooms.
Xiao Ming was extremely kind, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was served on time and it was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel!
The hotel is very near north station, so if you have to catch an early train is very convenient. Super friendly staff, they really try to make me feel at home.
Quite near to Guilin North train station. it's only walking distance. If you want to go to Guilin West train station it is not far too, about $20 taxi.
