Breakfast was really nice, also because I like Chinese style breakfast. But for someone who's looking for bacon and baked beans, this may not be the right place. I liked the location because you are in the heart of a very traditional neighborhood. Away from fancy restaurants and glamorous shopping malls. But close to the Metro / Subway and easy to get taxi to go anywhere. Room was nice and bright and clean.

Historically known as Canton and China’s third largest city, Guangzhou is the birthplace of the most popular types of Chinese cuisine such as iconic wonton soup and dim-sum. It has an impressive skyline, some of the oldest temples in the country and busy markets with everything from tea to hi-tech electronics.
The busy city center mesmerises with its futuristic architecture and beautifully lit skyscrapers but just a short trip away is the quiet haven of Nansha Wetland, a bird sanctuary. After a visit here that rejuvenates with new energy, you can then admire the traditional Cantonese architecture of Xiguan Residence, once occupied by the ruling class.
One of the city’s most popular attractions, the Liurong Temple is an absolute must-see, dating back to the 6th century and featuring a 17-story high pagoda. Make sure you don’t miss the traditional buildings near Yide Road as they are slowly being removed from the map due to the city’s rapid growth.
From a 1000-year-old lake garden, to plenty of theme parks, relaxing rolling hills and mountains, Guangzhou seems to have it all! Add impressive street markets and shopping centers and you are in for a fascinating ride.
Guangzhou Airport is a convenient metro or taxi ride away and Booking.com provides over 390 different accommodations options for you to choose from.
Incredible city with more restaurants than I've seen on...
Incredible city with more restaurants than I've seen on travels to almost 100 countries, and every restaurant I tried was fantastic, despite most of my meals costing in less than €5. The metro system was easy to use; I never felt the need to try a taxi or e-hailing. Each day of wandering around I discovered new areas that kept me going for hours, whether it was vast parks, traditional areas with narrow alleyways, or gleaming malls and skyscrapers. I was surprised at how clean it was, without a spot of litter on the ground. I know this sounds like PR text from the city tourism department, but I was genuinely wowed. I am looking forward to returning and exploring in more depth than a short 5-day stay allowed.

taxi service bad in the Guangzhou, drivers always trying to cheat, want to take more money,. You must be carefull, from where, to where, you have to check on phone map, always. If you controlled them, give them real transportation money showed you on screen of taxi, Drivers are very unhappy, never say "thank you", silent. If they cheat you, get more money, more than planned, They are very happy tell you "xie xie", it means next time you come again, i cheat you again sound like that.

What one can say about this old city - Canton to Guangzhou.
What one can say about this old city - Canton to Guangzhou. It has so many things in to see - history and modern. First thing first - must have mobile data connected to internet AND most importantly get Google or/and any reliable translator app via VPN - this is a life saver! The city is well connected via MRT, just buy day pass (1 or 3 days) that would take care of visit to attractions. If traveling in pax of 3/4, taxi ride would be a good option considering the low fare. By the way, all taxis are 100% electrical. Pedestrian area of Beijing road and Shangxiajiu are worth a visit for shopping and food. Visit to Chan Clan academy is a must, just on the MRT. Walking along Pearl river and cruise is highly recommended. If possible visit to the top of Guangzhou tower would give a birds eye view of the city.

My favourite city in China.
My favourite city in China. I lived here before for a year, and have visited many times. A great combination of modernity with Cantonese history and culture. Different areas, each with their own atmosphere. Very comfortable weather in winter, perfect to get away from the cold north of China. So much to see and do.
Hotel is in a very good position, around are a lot of restaurants. Big and nice rooms, modern unusual design - everithing electric drived. On the 6’th floor is a very beautifilul SPA and swimmingpool. Are also 2 jacuzzis outside on the teras. The view from the jacuzzy is amasing. Room service bringed good food. Nice terase bar on the 6’th floor with a big offer of vines. For the Canton Fair the hotel organised the transportation for guests with buses. Everithing was done perfect! Nice people, very helpful!
Spacious and clean rooms (when you are not assigned a room that just got disinfected from cigarette smoke), good breakfast, nice pool, and with a perfect location downtown Guangzhou, close to the metro and GZ main shopping malls. Multiple restaurants around. I believe the Oakwood is an excellent price/quality ratio given the rate we've had and the services/comfort provided. I feel the hotel to be perfect for a family stay, but could also fit business stays (wifi is under the China firewall though).
I had a pleasant and nostalgic experience staying with China hotel. It's near two parks and metro line 2. There's also a Decathlon within 5 minutes walking distance, which is convenient to pick up travel gear. The hotel was built in 1984 and is well known among locals. The rooms are cleaned daily and the beds are comfortable. The receptionists are polite. I spoke Chinese with them but I think they can speak English as well. I plan to stay here again when I visit Guangzhou in the future.
The breakfast is one of the best I've ever had in China - very high quality and HUGE selection. For example, the bacon is hand carved off a slab of meat, not out of a package like most other hotels. Very impressed. The room itself was spacious but a little dated. Bar is open until 2am which is later than most hotel bars in China. Location is great, in the heart of Tianhe close to awesome bars and restaurants. Huge gym with lots of equipment.
The hotel is very well located, right in the city center.
.There are several restaurants around the hotel where the food is very good.
The rooms are very large with all facilities, and the cleanliness is perfect. The price-quality ratio is a very good one for downtown Guangzhou. I stayed in much more expensive hotels in Guangzhou, and the conditions were not at all better than at this hotel.
Great great great hotel...👌only 15mn by metro to go to Canton fair.. the metro is only 20meters far.. and really good deal about suite price...I will come back next time obviously...quiet and green area...the staff is really nice and take care about you or any problem you have...You have to be crazy if you pay triple price in Pazhou complex ...
Very nice location in a historical place. Its interesting to walk around in a very unusual surroundings for so big and crowded city as Guangzhou. Really homely feeling:) The shopping mall with many good restaurants is just in 10-15min walk away. Looks as the hotel is renovated recently, nicely renovated! Good breakfast.
The property is very clean and what you get is what you saw as advertised.
Also, because of the issue of the lack of van, we left one of our luggages and hotel arranged its delivery to the airport right in time before our departure which in my mind offset (in a way) their lack of transportation support for guests.
The room size n the amenities in the room . The staff at reception. The Chinese restaurants serve reasonably good food at affordable prices. The short walking distance to Taojin metro station for easy travel to the city center and canton tower. Good supply of mineral water for guests in the room n reception area.
Rooms were clean and sheets are changed regularly. Bathrooms are big and clean. Breakfast spread was great– fit for continental and asian palates. Neighborhood is surrounded by local restaurants and small shops. Easy to get taxis. During canton fair, they provide shuttle bus service.
The location was perfect, the room was much bigger than we expected and better than most hotels in Guangzhou at the same price. It's really a nice stay. You can find a lot of cheap restaurants nearby and if you want something fancy you can go to the China Restaurant just next to it.
This hotel i very cheap and comfortable to stay in Guangzhou China, and the employee behavior is very good and professional. if I recommend this hotel 10 is 10/10 my option. the reception is very good communication with clients to guide properly to your tour plan.
It is in great location. Close to metro station and very nice food market. Easy to travel to city center and Canton fair expo center. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Also, it is worth to mention that hotel breakfast was superb
aircon ,beds, pillows, great shower ,clean, spacious, great Canton fair desk, helpful staff ,good breakfast ,close to metro and would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely be staying there in the future
One of the best stay in Gunagzhou. It was my first visit to China and this hotel stand goods in all means. Budget friendly and super value. House keeping staffs/front desk all did a good job 👍
The location of the hotel is good. The organization of the hotel for the Canton Fair was good. The shuttle bus service was good. The breakfast was okay.My room's view was nice.
