Easy kiosk check in. The room was small but well equipped. It had everything we needed. We liked having the backyard area available to us and the bicycle garage was great! Thank you!

As I stepped into the welcoming embrace of the Dormero Hotel in Xanten, I was greeted by the charming presence of Dandy and Molly, who set the tone for a truly enchanting stay. As I crossed the threshold into my room, I was immediately captivated by the exquisite arrangement and pristine cleanliness that permeated every corner, filling the space with a sense of tranquility and serenity. Nestled in the embrace of the luxurious bedding, I indulged in the mesmerizing hues of the color lamp, all while being serenaded by the gentle chimes of the distant clocktower, a reminder of the timeless beauty that surrounded me. From my vantage point, I was treated to a captivating vista of the bustling market square below, a scene that felt like a painting come to life. What truly set this experience apart was the hotel's unique charm, an unexpected delight that added an extra layer of magic to my stay. In every way, my time at the Dormero Hotel was nothing short of extraordinary—a testament to the artistry of hospitality and a memory I will cherish forever.

This was a typical small German rural city but with the benefit of the largest Roman archaeological park and museum. The medieval market place and cathedral were amazing enhanced by the contents of the history museum.

If you are interested in history then the Archaeological park is worth a visit. Best to visit on a dry, sunny or partially sunny day. You can cycle around the Xantener North and South lakes. The wonderful biking and hiking trails along the banks of the Rhine.
The splendid LRV Roman Museum (a must for schoolchildren, very modern and interactive learning).
The rose garden with its little hidden surprises.
We loved the atmosphere of the town with its very inviting terraces. The beautiful Sankt-Viktordom, the Klever Tor and Kriemhildmühle (Nibelungensaga).
The restaurant 'Petersilchen" was a true delight!

Xanten was such a pleasure to discover and visit.
Xanten was such a pleasure to discover and visit. I particularly enjoyed the Roman experiences but all the rest added to the joy of my visit. Will definitely recommend Xanten to other visitors.
Xanten is safe and easy to explore and a solo traveler can enjoy it just as much as groups
This is a difficult rating because had our check-in gone smoothly, I would have only positive things to say. More on that below... Otherwise, the rooms were cute and clean. We serendipitously booked Room 3, which has its own private patio. Super nice. There's also a great little back yard with tables and chairs. Location is a little out of the center, but fine. Also loved the fridge stocked with beer, soda and water for 2 euros each and a coffee maker in the room, as well as coffee machine.
The hotel is on plaza in center of the village. It has great view of the cathedral. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Dandy, the lovely Irish lady made us feel at home. The property has elevator and secure bicycle parking in locked garage with outlets for e- bikes. The rooms are modern and comfortable.
The village itself is very walkable and has numerous historical sites and picture opportunities.
We liked the location, directly in the town square. There is Monday market day. There several restaurants and cafés and bakeries in and close to the square. Not far from the Roman archeological outdoor museum. Friendly people all around, safe area. Pretty churches, windmills and other places of interest. The room and other parts of the hotel were very clean. Good choices for breakfast.
Friendly reception with a glass of champagne. While the room was spacious and clean, the adjecent elevator prevented us from sleeping. The fact that we were presented with an incorrect invoice afterwards did not contribute to a positive experience. While the staff was apologetic, right after they made the next mistake. So, I do recommend CHECKING YOU INVOICE VERY CAREFULLY.
The room was clean and quiet and had an exceptionally comfortable bed and bedding. Also, our room had a very nice patio so we were able to enjoy fresh air all night long. But the real kicker at this hotel is the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and kind, with the front desk person, Dandy, offering especially excellent service and conversation.
A spacious attic loft room with private bathroom plus sitting and dining areas, enough storage space and the furniture and fittings good quality, comfortable and well maintained. Easy check in with a lock box in the Host's absence. Close proximity to the waterfront restaurants is a bonus. A great place for a short or long stay. Highly recommended.
This is an excellently kept newly refitted property very close to Xanten. It has all basic amenities and is in a quiet location, ideal for walking and enjoying the nearby lakes. Top marks to the hosts, who have a good eye for detail.
Modern small hotel at a farm. Very nice people. Good parking and ev chargers. 20 min walk to city center (when its dark bring a flashlight). Beer draught tap and fridge with lot of drinks available. Good breakfast buffet.
Historical, elegant hotel in Central part of town. Quiet and the front desk clerk was amazing! Friendly, helpful. Advised me on things to see and do while room was being cleaned. I arrived early. Safe place for my bike.
Owners Michael & Andrea were very friendly & welcoming. Lovely room & property in a quiet, attractive spot near Xanten’s lakes. Excellent breakfast & room to lock up our bikes. All perfect!
Lovely hotel with very helpful and accomodating staff. I arrived by bike after cycling through a lot of rain, looking very bedraggled. Lovely clean room, great restaurant, very friendly.
The apartment is in a quiet location close to Xanten. Ideal for our one-night stopover on a longer journey. The room was comfortable and the owners' representative was helpful.
Very helpful, friendly and efficient young manager. A family-owned and run place. Pleasant location, very near to the Xantener Nordsee. Excellent free WiFi.
Breakfast was excellent,
The hotel is located in an area that invites for (short) hikes.
The nearby city of Xanten with its Roman past is a nice bonus!
