Easy to walk around town. Important attractions easy to find and absorb in a day, or two if you want to see Wartburg as well, which is great. The Bach house was a bit of a let-down as there's next to nothing pertaining to the genius but the lot of info nearly makes up to it. The city museum is impressive in the palace on the main square.

With a one night stay we were able to visit the Wartburg...
With a one night stay we were able to visit the Wartburg Castle, the Bach museum, and the church connected with Bach. We found a very nice Vietnamese restaurant where we had a good meal at a very reasonable price. The Kaufland supermarket and Woolworths were both very useful shops.

It's a perfect place to visit if you like history.
It's a perfect place to visit if you like history. I spent nearly a whole day up at the Wartburg castle, which was simple amazing. From learning about the art, music and literary history of the place, to the deeply important religious history (as a Lutheran, seeing the room where Martin Luther worked on his Bible translation was breathtaking), there's just so much in the one place. Tack on a trip to the Lutherhaus, and I was simply over the moon. I know there were more things I definitely wanted to do but didn't have time for, including a few museum options and the Bachhaus. It's a lovely city, very walkable and quaint, and the public transit, from what little I used, was very effective and clean. It does get very quiet in the evenings, so if you're looking for nightlife, this probably isn't the place, but since I like quieter nights, this was a perk for me! Also the natural landscape all around the city is gorgeous, with thick forests and sweeping mountains on all sides. Great for pictures (when it's not raining)!

Really lovely city.
Really lovely city. Gorgeous old town centre and birthplace of JS Bach so we visited the museum and went to see the Wartburg, where Martin Luther had to hide out for 10 months. Easy city to walk around. Lots of good restaurants but most will stop serving at 9pm. We had a wonderful meal after hours (about 10pm!) in Valentinos, which was also very central.

History all over the place.
History all over the place.
The castle is a location full of positive events connected to the good side of Germany.
Luther and Bach spent time there. You can follow their traces.
Good for lunch or dinner are the Wartburg Restaurant and the Trattoria La Grappa. For breakfast, we recommend the La toccata.
Be careful with other restaurants...
Our room was better than the photos show. The room only had two twin beds and we do not sleep in two beds but they were comfortable so o.k.. The photo only shows two twin beds but our room had another room that had a table with two chairs and another comfortable chair. Also kettle with coffee cups, coffee, tea and a refrigerator. This extra room made all the difference. Free parking on site excellent. Eat dinner at the restaurant on site. Beautiful outdoor patio with one of the best meals we have had in Germany! Great staff.
Breakfast: 10/10. Lavish breakfast buffet + eggs in your preferred style.
Room: 10/10. Comfortable bed, wide work desk, free drinks, clean wardrobe, safe with number lock.
Location: 10/10. Close to downtown Eisenach and also only 1 hour walking distance from Wartburg (castle).
Staff: 10/10. Provided great help in spite of not all of them knowing English. They provided me with a physical map and marked the route to Wartburg for my hike (I prefer the physical map to Google maps).
I would recommend this hotel over and over again. it was clean, very comfortable (the second best beds I have slept on in Europe!), and the breakfast was perfect. You’ll pay a little extra for the breakfast, but it is worth every cent and more. it was hearty, delicious, and they made fresh eggs for us when we sat down. I didn’t even need lunch that day after that breakfast.
The view is spectacular. It's within walking distance of the Bach house, Luther house and the main square. If you are up to it you can hike up to the castle. The house is visible from the castle and vice versa. Way better than a hotel, probably best to spend a few nights or more as getting settled in is a little more work than a hotel. No elevator but that is expected.
The whole apartment was modern with a lovely flair. We liked the bathroom, the kitchen and the separate toilet. Important, when you are 5 adults.
The white wine and water as a welcome gift were a lovely gesture.
Will book again, when visiting Eisenach in winter.
Well equipped hotel with fantastic views of the Wartburg. Good portion of salmon with my scrambled eggs! Fantastic building and the dining terrace is beautiful - and open at breakfast time.
The location was ideal for visiting sites in the town and the Wartburg Castle. The facilities at the hotel were excellent. everything worked and the breakfast gave a very good choice.
We didn't like anything. We were led to believe it was a much nicer property than it was. I was trying to avoid hotel chains on my trip but wish I had stayed anywhere else.
The hotel is super comfy. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely come here again. You can start hiking directly from the hotel. The breakfast was exceptional.
A functional place, we couldn't get a triple room in Eisenach at a better price, and its reasonably close to the centre. No issues with the check-in process.
