Nice spacious hotel room with good AC and shower, large bed. We used the pool one evening and afternoon, it wasn't too busy and there are lights at night for a swim. There's a nice area near the pool for guests to relax and order food from the restaurant. There was a filtered water station to fill up our water bottles or make a hot tea which was nice. Parking was convenient, free and had a 24/hour security guard. Large Chedraui grocery store and mall across the road and decent restaurants around the corner. We drove to Sumidero Canyon from this hotel which was about 16 minutes drive.

To warm. even in the winter month a the end of November!
To warm. even in the winter month a the end of November!
The real problem, was Booking.com, when I choose One Way from Tux MX. to DFW, when I ticked proceed, Booking.com's AI toggled reserve to ROUND TRIP,
But that did not show on "conformation" page, I just though the price was high!
So leaving on date chosen, BUT, the 3:30pm was changed, by AI to 9:30AM same day, Or 6 hours AHEAD of original flight time!
And to make that even more horrid: we are the get to the airport 3 hours ahead of, poofy 6:30 AM, I didn't the change of the total of 9 hours BEFORE. so my Cabby didn't know so WE BOTH MISSED THE FLIGHT,
And I also found the AI double charging when I tried to book another ONE WAY, Tux to DWF, was $498.00, rather than half that! AND according to Booking.com new AI, I'd get to DWF, and hop right back on a plane, and return to Tux,MX 3 hours latter! Not this 75 year old man!
So I be taking buses, that are not booked with Booking.Com's new AI!
Booking.com did that same thing to my 72 year old sister, and their support couldn't FIX that double booking robbery, so I owe her for that AI robbery, also, making total loss, besides TIME, OVER $1000.00 USD!
Since I didn't get my money back that I lost, of $1000.00 USD, I can't afford to book with Booking.com, any more, since their so-called support didn't return the overpayments, either!

Two nights is sufficient to go on a trip.
Two nights is sufficient to go on a trip. Industrial city nothing to see. Good Uber service to use for the trip to Sumidero canyon you don’t have to pay tour operators. Stay in newer Hilton on the Main Street.
You can safely eat the cut fruits from the vendors on the street or the square. Crisp in a bag and they pour hot sauce on top, delicious. I had rice drink with cinnamon and it tasted of rice pudding. I wouldn’t go again if I had a choice I would go to Palenque.

Tuxtla is a glimpse into what Mexico is like, when away from tourists. Local, everyday life is what you will find here.
It's very walkable city, easy to navigate.
Parque Marimba is a great spot to hang, with live Marimba band and dancing on Sat night!
"La Marimba", a tiny tamale shop across from the parque, opens at 6:30 p.m., and people start lining up before it does! Eaten tamales all my life, these are by far the best I've had! They sell out very fast.
Botanas bars, cute local shops and cafes.
Malhaya is a new, chic botanas bar with great service, food and friendly staff.
The huge outdoor market area is bustling and fun.
Easy access to Sumidero by short collectivo, San Cristobal is an easy hour bus ride away.

Beautiful state lots to see.
Beautiful state lots to see. We went to San cristobal, palenque, Chiapas we corzo to do sumidero. The boat ride through that area was worth the money. Visited ocozocuatla and went to the aguacero a very beautifull water fall. It was so amazing we went back to play in the warm clean water. 700 steps down and back up but worth every step. So much to see. Food was ok. Never really found a gourmet rest. Tuxtla and towns are old a little and look run down more garbage around then other parts of mx

The city is a mix of "we exist because people live here" and "there is a excellent canyon nearby, so we exist for the tourism".
Yet nothing in the city is especially touristy.
I would not enjoy a vacation here.
The nearby Sumidero canyon is a must see. Also the route along the top of it with a bunch of viewpoints.
The malls are mostly run down 80's era things that have nothing much to offer other than the standard assortment of shops and fastfood.
The city center is a busy and bustling affair, but basically just cheap shops that have nothing to sell for tourists. Most parks look a bit run down, but along with the city center are fun to explore for an afternoon.
Overall I enjoyed my stay, but for sure the main highlight of my visit here was the Canyon.

The location and the hotel itself is wonderful! It has a real community feel about the place. The hotel has a lot of open space where local people will walk around the gardens and there is some local project work there too! It’s a lovely place to stay. There is a park right outside for a great walk. I’m a female, solo traveler and I felt very safe here. The hotel is about a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport (it didn’t cost a lot).
We really enjoyed the stay. We stayed 3 nights and it was very comfortable, the fan worked fine and the cleaners do an excellent job! The staff did their best with English (its not a touristy place so it's not expected of them) and we managed to communicate fine. The washing was done on site and ready the next morning. We did a trip to the canyon through the hotel and it's recommended 🙂
The room was well air-conditioned. It felt like glory everytime we returned to our room after the long hot days of exploring. The restaurant at the hotel serves delicious food. The staff was attentive and friendly. Location was perfect as we were walking distance almost everything of our interest.
Location close to the ADO bus station. We arrived after a very long trip at midnight. It was a quick walk across the road to the hotel. Room was clean and beds rather comfortable. Good value. Helpful staff. OK for a short stay, especially if traveling by ADO or OCC buses.
Good, helpful staff. The hotel has beautiful murals. Good size of the room, comfortable beds. You can have breakfast in the small restaurant of the hotel (not included) and order some food and drinks from the menu for lunch or dinner. The room is really quiet.
Reception staff, M, was very very helpful with a particularly urgent need. Thank you so very much for your kindness and willingness to problem-solve and help --- it was so very appreciated.
Later check-out than many hotels was also very welcomed.
Spacious rooms, big beds and enough shelves for your stuff, even in the bathroom. Grocery store right next to the hotel entrance. We can't rate the breakfast because we've left early in the morning (before 7 am).
Nothing. Booked it for 6 nights but could only stand 3 at which time we moved to a hotel. I would rather pay again and take a loss then stay at this house. Horrible I have pictures to prove it.
great location, close to the city center

Very nice Hotel. Really clean and quiet.
